Food looked great but was very bland. We had a cool server but didn't like the lack of seasoning.

I rarely give 1-star reviews, but everything about this dining experience was awful. the worst. 1. The restaurant is pitch dark - you can barely see anything that we needed to use the flashlights on our phones to see the menu and our journey to our tables/bathrooms 2. RIP OFF. I ordered the black bean enchiladas that were described as "3 tortillas stuffed with zucchini, corn, black beans, summer squash, cheese, rice and creamed corn" which sounded delicious, but these "enchiladas" were nothing but tiny tacos that collectively had 1/3 cup of rice and beans...no zucchini, no squash, no creamed corn... the insides were dry with nothing on top except for diced tomatoes, no enchilada sauce or anything else.... I was amazed that they could get away charging $14 for 1/3 cup of rice and beans... my husband got the fajitas that were probably worth $2 3. I would have sent my food back to get something else, but the waitress didnt check up on us about our food until 25 minutes later, no water refill, nothing. Worst, the restaurant was EMPTY. She only had 1 other table, there were probably 6 customers in the entire restaurant, most of whom were at the bar. So we left to find another restaurant where I could eat at. 4. Even though they got everything wrong and gave us terrible food/customer service, they offered nothing to make up for it. Don't waste your money, time or energy. read more

The Scorpion Bar is located inside the Foxwoods casino. The description led us to believe that it was a pretty lively rock and roll bar with great mexican food. The food was good, but the server awful. She had trouble remembering even one thing at a time, let alone getting back to to the table for more drinks. I fell in love for the decor of this place too bad the food and service weren't good. We came in and the place was empty except for the bar. We took a seat and look through the menu, I don't get how the decor s very gothic yet they serve Mexican food, it doesn't go at all but I decided to let that go. I started with a watermelon margarita and it was horrible, it was super sweet that I couldn't even drink it. Then we got a few appetizers to share nachos with everything, avocado and tomato salad, yuca fries and tostones (fried green plantains). The appetizers were decent and the nachos were huge. Now for my entree I got the shrimp fajitas, my friends got the steak fajitas and cheeseburger burrito. All three dishes were super salty, it was so bad we couldn't even eat it. We left all of our entrees since they were not eatable. Now the service was horrible, our waitress was nice and very pretty but had no idea what anything on the menu was and even brought us the wrong order. If you ever want to visit this place just come for drinks and don't order anything special. read more

Terrible service. My husband and I were staying at Foxwoods tower for our anniversary weekend. I am blind in one eye and almost blind in my other eye. We attempted to go to this scorpion bar as our third bar for the night, having only had one drink at each bar and therefore very sober. I was not using my cane at this bar as I had left it in the hotel room because I was walking with my husband and I thought it would be easier to walk without my cane. We paid a $10 cover charge each, so $20 total and upon walking up to the bar when I was asking my husband to read the menu the bartender refused a service because he believed I was intoxicated because I needed my husband to read to me and I could not make iContact. We attempted to speak to the host and manager named Tom DelSanto upon exiting who seemed extremely unsympathetic and to make matters worse, because I did not have my cane I walked into some of the security barriers. We did receive our cover chargeback however our anniversary weekend was tainted by poor service and unsympathetic staff and we certainly will not be frequenting this bar if we return to Foxwoods or the Seaport in Boston where we are from. Unfortunately there's pretty huge damper on our weekend and celebration of our anniversary. We will not be recommending this venue or chain of restaurants to any of our friends or family or colleagues at work. We experienced excellent service at every other venue within Foxwoods resort and casino except for scorpion bar and we will not make the mistake of attempting to enter this venue again. Zero out of 10 stars or zero out of five stars simply due to accessibility and disability discrimination. This is unacceptable And the staff and restaurant chain did not deserve any of our hard earned money considering we were treated like drunken teenagers rather than grown adults with a responsible cash flow. read more

This bar discriminated against my blind wife. They Assumed she was drunk when she was 100 percent sober due to her not having her cane. Do not support shitty ass businesses like this. We talked to Tom Delsanto the manager who refunded us our cover charge but he acted liked he didn't care when we talked to him. People who discriminate like this deserve to be not aloud to run businesses or anything. My wife didn't bring her cane because we assumed she wouldn't benefit from her cane because it was too dark for it too be helpful. read more

My friends and I came here for dinner. We were really hungry too. Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience. The food was horribly salty and the service was slow. The waitress was nice and pretty, but it was very clear to us why she was hired; let's just say, it was not due to her excellent service. We over ordered. Normally, it would not be a problem if the food was good because you can take it home (or back to your hotel room). However, that was not the case here. I packed my food to go because I really hate wasting food, but in the end, I left my to go bag at the restaurant....purposely. In case any one is wondering, I ordered the steak fajita. My friends ordered the shrimp fajita and cheese burrito. All the dishes were overly salty. We also got the everything nachos, plantains, yucca, and tomato and avocado salad. The nachos were huge, but I did not like it at all. The plantains and yucca were ok, although it would have been better if there was a side of garlic sauce. The salad wasn't special. I didn't like the fact that the cucumbers were translucent. I do not recommend this restaurant for the food. You would have better luck at a fast food restaurant (and I don't like fast food). read more

We (a party of 4) went here on a Saturday afternoon and sat at the end of the bar for cocktails. Lauren was our bartender and greeted us as soon as we sat down. She spent several minutes welcoming us to "The Scorpion Bar" and describing several drink recipes and servings. After we had one cocktail, 2 younger men came in and sat next to us setting poker chips on the bar. After about 15 minutes it was obvious that these 2 had been drinking before they got there, they were loud and obnoxious. Our bartender Lauren quickly caught on to their condition, and informed the rest of the bar staff as well as management who all kept a close eye on them. At some point the guy that put poker chips on the counter lost his chips and asked us to empty our pockets lol. Except I wasn't laughing. I loudly let them know I didn't appreciate their accusations. Management comped our Nochos and was very apologetic, they gave the 2 guys a warning and threatened to remove them. The 2 drunk dudes started apologizing profusely to us and the situation was de-escalated. Bottom line is this: it's a bar/restaurant with a cool atmosphere and courteous professional employees. We only ate Nochos but observed several other plates come out and thought the food looked very good. We all said we'd have to go back sometime for dinner. I probably would not have written a review at all, but felt that the staff deserved kudos for their handling of a difficult situation. Thanks for an uhhhh interesting but fun time Lauren. If you happen to be visiting the casino and enjoy Mexican, give this place a whirl. The menu seemed a little limited on vegetarian options, but I was told by the server that everything is made to order, so that worked out well. I ordered the veggie burrito and it was delicious! So big, I was able to take the other half home for lunch the next day! The guacamole is to die for! The only criticism I have is the margaritas are pricey and fairly small. read more

I come here every time I go to Foxwoods for a show. The food is consistently really good and the margs aren't too sweet. It can be hard to get a table so I recommend reserving ahead of time if you have a group, but you can stand around (or sit around) at the bar where there's also side tables and ledges- if you do have to wait, you can order food there if you are short on time. This is one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. I don't know how this place is still in business except that it's a prime location and you don't have that many other options in Cedar Foxwoods. I came on a Saturday night around 6:30pm. So, we arrive, wait on a short line to be told there is between a 30 to 45 minute wait. We will get texted when a table opens. Ok great back to gambling I go. 45 minutes pass so I go back for a new eta. The girl tells me she can't give me an exact time. I say ok didn't need an exact time but can you tell me how many people are ahead of me so that I have an idea. She says no she cannot give that information out. Oh I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was asking for social security numbers and home addresses. Like wtf?! I just wanted a head count. Fine we leave and start walking to find a new restaurant. 3 freaking minutes later we get the table ready text. Are you kidding me?! So, she really couldn't have just looked at her little lost and said oh your table should be ready any minute?!!! Mind blowing. Whatever. So moving on to the restaurant lighting. It was SO DARK in there that every table that was looking at a menu was using their cell phone light to read it. Nothing romantic or hip about how dark it was in there. I tell the waitress wow it's really dark and she responds "yeah that's what everyone says." Ok and this doesn't clue you guys to turn that knob the opposite way and let some light in?! Whatever. On to the drinks. I ordered a ghost pepper margarita and I tell the waitress I want it VERY spicy. She smiles and is more than happy to inform me they will be sure to muddle some jalapeños and really spice it up for me. needless to say there was no muddled anything and it was barely a touch of spice to that drink. There was also no taste. It was just blah. A blah margarita. Pretty hard to mess those up. My girlfriend had a guava daiquiri that tasted so sweet we had to make note to check her blood sugar. Ok fine that's a lie because, like me, she took one sip made a face and never touched it again. Now the food. THANK YOU SWEET BABY JESUS that something told me not to order much at first, so we just had guacamole & chips and an order of empanadas. The most basic Mexican fare we could order from a "Mexican" restaurant. I am Spanish. I am 45. I have been eating empanadas for a good 35 to 40 years. Why do I tell you my personal information? Why did I divulge my old age? To make this statement as powerful as possible - this was the worst empanada I ever had in my entire life. NO ZERO ZIP ZILCH flavor to that meat. The amount of grease was ridiculous. I wouldn't pay $1 for one of these on the street so the fact that I paid $12 really annoys me. I would pay someone the $12 to eat these for me because never again! The guacamole didn't have that freshly made taste either. Like how do you boast Mexican fare and can't even get your guac right?! Alas, the chips were crunchy and fresh. So loooong story short, if you want some crispy chips and nothing else, go eat here. If you want anything else, choose another restaurant. read more

Was here last weekend and decided to give scorpion bar a try. So glad we did! One word....WINGS. Lol I haven't stopped thinking about them since. Honestly probably some of the best I've ever had. The flavor was on point, just the perfect amount of spice I couldn't help myself from going back for more. We also tried the the tacos, again great flavor, and shared a quesadilla. Quesadilla came with sour cream and pico but maybe some salsa or guacamole on the side would've been nice.... Drinks were also great! Nice and strong, not watered down like some places. Food is okay. Expensive and small portions. Chips and salsa are delish! Drinks aren't too strong if you get a margarita. Better to get a different mixed drink without all of the pre-mixer. Same goes for their sangria. It's a bit stronger than the margs, though. Went here for a get together with a bunch of people. Got a VIP table, and it was AWESOME!! We had a personal waitress the whole time who kept a fully stocked cart of our choice drinks/alcohols/juices. Her service was excellent. Very reasonable, there were ten of us. Well worth the money. Dancing is always fun, music is great, dancers are good, and it's always crowded. Worth a trip!!! read more

The tacos here are so good! The three of them to an order are super filling and hit the spot. I recommend the beef tacos that come with lots of ingredients inside. It's the perfect meal to have before going out at Foxwoods. They also have a relatively cheap and strong margarita that goes great with the tacos. My co workers and I decided to stop here to celebrate a birthday. I ordered chips and salsa---salsa was really good. We also got the empanadas that were pretty yummy and some drinks due to happy hour. The atmosphere was dark and rock music was the theme. It was a Tuesday so it wasn't packed. I've been here before on a Thursday and it was wild, I can imagine a Friday or Saturday---I would recommend reservations for that. The waitress was sweet but young looking. A little uncomfortable when in a bar. But anyway, she was patient with me as I was returning my drinks. Although happy hour was in effect, drinks are high and they were very weak. I got tired of returning my HH drinks and ordered a martini. Go figure that full price drink had alcohol. That is why I gave this place 3 stars. Don't skimp on the liquor -_- On a positive note- I would recommend this place if you're single as there are women coming in together and men at the bar ;) read more

Well well well was this a pleasant surprise ! My husband and I went to Foxwoods for our wedding anniversary and he planned a romantic dinner at David Burke which turned out to not be the highlight of the trip , scorpion bar was . Giant tv like I mean almost as big as the screen at the movie theater, bruins game , wonderful waitress and most importantly the GM cate forte ( I made sure I got her name and card) she was amazing she greeted us and gave us a tequila shot for our anniversary . She was the nicest most down to the earth sweetheart we met on the trip. We just felt at home . It was clearly run by someone who knows the industry and cares about the food AND experience. I appreciate her and the establishment for a time to be remembered! Will return and hope cate is still there !!!! read more

Oh Scorpion Bar you disappointed us last weekend. I have always been intrigued by this bar during visits to the casino. Its dark and mysterious atmosphere finally drew me and my small group of friends in for dinner and drinks. I just wish it could have been a better experience. We were greeted at the entrance by a man wearing a suit and an earpiece. I assumed he was the bouncer. He explained that the host had other things to attend to and would be right back. A few minutes passed while he spoke into the earpiece in an attempt to locate the missing host. Soon another man in a suit appeared and explained there would be a wait for a table. We were hungry and on a schedule since we were at Foxwoods for a concert. The alternative offer was a bar seat and we accepted. I would give this place five stars for atmosphere. It has an edgy, rockstar feel to it with dim lightning, great music, and unique decor. The waitstaff and bartenders are all very pretty people and most of them friendly as well. It seemed the bar was short staffed on this particular night. The "host" later appeared behind the bar to offer some help and I saw him bring food out of the kitchen. I believe he may have been one of the managers and he was working hard to compensate for an apparent staffing issue that night. We ordered margaritas and also chips with guacamole and salsa to start. The salsa and guacamole were delicious, but we ran out of chips. We had half a bowl of each left and requested more chips. It only makes sense to have enough chips to finish the dip right? Well, the tortilla chips sparked a discussion behind the bar between our server and another bartender. We were within earshot, but were not supposed to hear as they discussed how much to charge us for the extra chips! It was so unprofessional that we heard this conversation, but even worse we were charged for the chip refill. Then there was a painstakingly long wait for our entrees. Dinner finally arrived and to my disappointment it was one of the worst burritos I have ever eaten. If we had more time I would have sent it back, but at this point it was almost time for the concert to start. The California Burrito was extremely dry with big chunks of cheese and potatoes. All the steak was hiding at one end and I had to tear the burrito apart to find it. At least I had filled up on those non-complimentary chips. The Margaritas were also very good. Perhaps it was due to the Fourth of July holiday and scheduling was tight, however our experience just was not good. My friends and I had an amazing time at Scorpion Bar last night! We went for dinner in the early evening and had some amazing margaritas and tacos. Manager Krista was incredibly helpful with menu selections and let us know that the bar turns into a nightclub at 10! Our server Natalie was fantastic as well. We couldn't stay away for very long, so we ended up coming back at 10 for some DJ music, dancing, and drinks!! So much fun. We are so glad we went, Krista made our experience one of a kind and we will be recommending Scorpion bar to all of our friends. We can't wait to come back! read more

I entered Scorpion Bar and initially was very impressed. First by its appearance and second by their modest prices on food and alcohol. I had the pork burrito covered in their red sauce with a side of guac. The burrito was also filled with oaxaca cheese which was a great touch I also had one of their margarita's. All of these were very tasty, the burrito even came on a hot plate. I also tried their burger, which came spiced which I wasn't a big fan of. The biggest gripe with the burger was that it was overcooked (asked for medium rare), it did come with some great sweet potato fries though. The sangria was not good at all, tasted like someone added too much cool aid mix. On our way out this place looks like it was turning into more of a club. We were going back to the room and asked if we could come back for the music. The grumpy old door guy said we would have to pay. After we just paid for dinner, I think that is a little ridiculous. Thankfully another door guy told us on our way out that we should talk to him and he would allow us back in. read more

Just a few quick thoughts. When: Saturday Night, 6PM Who: Me and my wife Why: Birthday drinks, casual dinner before hitting the tables What: Very good vibe, dark, good music and attentive service. Wife and I sat at the bar just before it got crowded. Every table was reserved, so only bar seating was available which was cool with us as we prefer to eat at the bar and talk to the bartender. Margaritas were good and they offered a bunch of variations. I got the three amigos that had a splash of dos equis in it. Good, different and it cut the sweetness of their house margarita. Enchiladas for me, burrito for her. Average. Not bad, not great. Overall, I think this is a good choice at Foxwoods. Prices were reasonable and the place was very comfortable. Like many other tequila bars, they had a lot of choices and the "regular" tequila they use for the house margarita was better than you find at the chain restaurants. Whenever we make it to Foxwoods, we make it to the Scorpion Bar, and have been doing so for years. The food is good, the drinks are better and the bar staff is the best anywhere. Kayla is great, Erica is wonderful and Haley is amazing. We often schedule our visits on days that Haley is working. I'm not crazy about the cover charges that start later, nor the club it turns into at night, but I do love sitting at the bar, having a bite to eat, a good drink, and chatting with the girls. I've been here many times to drink, but just ate here for the first time. OH MY! The food is so so good. The atmosphere feels funky to eat in, its very dark, the music is blaring and the table we ate at was really low but you'll over look all of this once you get your meal. We ordered a shrimp pasta special, side of plantains and the black bean and jalapeño enchiladas. The pasta was in a light sauce, full of veggies and shrimp...amazing. The enchiladas were Not soggy! The veggies in them were so fresh and crispy. I ate more than I ever eat. The plantains are madurai style (smashed and crispy) and came in a huge amount. Everyone at this casino is so nice. The hostess was very friendly and they have a cool system where you get a text message once your table is ready. Since we were in a rush to see a concert we chose to sit at the bar. Our bartender was soooo friendly! We got a huge scorpion bowl, tropical style. We got chicken empanadas, and the chicken enchiladas. Everything was delicious. Rice and beans don't come with the meal, so order them on the side. So yummy! read more

Wow! I have traveled all over the US and abroad. This restaurant I will always remember. Incredible affordable food. I had three dishes. Jalapeño Ravioli, The Hot Barbacoa Tacos and a straight up Beef taco because I wanted to just keep trying stuff. The Jalapeño Ravioli was really the standout. The place is dark and has a night club feel but I went on a weeknight and sat at the bar where the lighting is better. Enjoying it all with a bottled water.
