Instead, another employee came out and refused the sale without any clear explanation.  I understand stores have policies, which I appreciate and understand from a business owners mindset. But the lack of communication and follow-through was disappointing, and not the customer service experience you should receive whatsoever.  An actual explanation- (I don't want to know or hear that your business has been selling to underage kids) or having the manager actually come out would have made a big difference. Michael even recognized me after only meeting me once, about 5 years ago. If I have one complaint, it's their selection of chilled beverages. This would not be the place to go if you need to pick up a chilled bottle of something on the fly, because chances are they won't have it chilling. A first I thought he was right so I even apologized to him but even after that the owner was very rude, obnoxious, and condescending as he thought I was trying to put one over on him. I sometimes frequent this place as it is only a few miles from my place, however after last night and the owners attitude about the whole matter over an what I thought was an honest mistake I will now travel a few more miles further to the likes of Canal's Discount Liquors where I will be treated like a customer and not like someone that thinks I was trying to pull something on him. The cashier said to me " well it's only a dollar!" and then she said " what? Are you looking for an apology? You're not going to get one".
