Ok ... they got me! So excited to see an email from them in the morning with raffle for a "cooler…read morebag & goodies" from a local brewery we love. We decided to make a special trip to stop in after dinner that night ... especially as we were running low on our beer supply. While DH was checking out their craft beers notably from Other Half Brewing ... yes, it's a decent selection but priced a bit higher than others at $22.99 (4 pack) ... I decided to find the "raffle box at the front registers" to submit my entry for a shot at the cooler bag. Hmm ... it didn't seem to be there. Looked around the store some more ... still no luck. Found a nice employee to help and she couldn't find it either even after looking in the back too. She said it's usually up front right next to the checkout registers (as advertised in the email) ... but it's not there and all managers have gone for the (Saturday) night. Ended up having DH put his beer back and gave our rolling basket to another young man (who thanked us as he was struggling with holding his 4 six-packs) and off we went to our usual place Clayton Liquors for their crowler/growler fills in addition to the best service and best beer selection around. Wow ... they really got me to come into the store for a "non-existent" raffle?!? We used to come to Buy Rite often (even before they changed their name a few times - as it's the closest place to our house) ... but stopped a while back as one of their old cashiers is pretty rude. We do try to support local businesses and this place does have everything you need ... but now it has 2 strikes in our book. We'll have to see if we go back ... maybe for another good raffle ... huh!

The second time I bought one it was super sour and bitter. As you can see these bottles are completely different. And the sour one was actually a fake bottle. The store wasn't able to come to any compromise after seeing the evidence so I wasted 53 bucks for a fake bottle. I was a loyal customer but I will not be coming back.

Pulling out of the lot back onto Delsea Drive can be a pain during rush hour but that is to be expected anywhere near here. They have a good selection of craft beers, many of them cold. This is a plus since other liquor stores in the area just don't have the cooler space for the many offerings these days. Their prices on wine and liquor are very good. The people that run the place are very nice. I have to knock a star off because of how congested the area around the front check out counter can get as soon as there is more than 1 or 2 customers in line with only 1 register open. Stopped in here on a saturday night to pick up a six pack and a bottle of wine and I found myself dodging customers coming into the store while I was standing in line, and I was waiting a bit because the customer at the register was buying about 90 dollars worth of stuff and paying by credit card. Last time someone was buying several cases of beer and that turned into a wait while someone got them from the back. Time before that it was something else... you get the picture. They need to open another register. They seem to always have plenty of staff on hand. If you are looking to pick up something in a hurry you might end up with a wait if they are busy. I guess that can be expected anywhere, but the store layout here is part of the problem.

Let me just say that I have never in my life been in such a FUN and STOCKED liquor store in my entire life! They had the upbeat party tunes pumping in the store and the first aisle is literally arranged in a way where they had both a tequila sampling bar AND a whiskey sampling bar with what seemed like every whiskey and tequila that was ever made and each of the little "bars" was decorated in cute little themes and you could tell a lot of thought of effort went into the set up. Now remember that I said I simply needed a bottle of wine for friend's celebration .... I literally left with the birthday bottle of wine, a bottle of blueberry port wine from my favorite NJ winery, a chocolate peanut butter whiskey, and an espresso martini cordial made by my favorite NJ distillery (which I had no idea they even made) OH and a party bucket of mini 99 shots with flavors I had never tried! I could've honestly purchased about 10 other bottles I was curious about, however, I told myself I will come back on my next trip to again explore since I was already a few minutes late heading to the party. Oh and the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable which is the cherry on top. What a gem in Clayton, NJ this place is!
