My friends a I wanted to go out and grab some coffee, (us Californians love our coffee, you know) so we decided to venture out to Sioux City, Iowa. It's unbelievable how many times I crossed over the bridge which separates Nebraska and Iowa! I wish it could be like that for all states, haha. Anyhow, its a local chain of coffee shops that has a great selection of different flavors. They have a comfy setting, free wi-fi, and board games that suit your fancy. I would totally recommend this spot if you find yourself in the mid-west and want some coffee. I had the Snickers Ice Blend.--It was awesome. The cool thing about our visit is that when we were walking to my friends car, the owner pulled up and asked about our experience. This is close to the absolute worst mocha I've ever had. Didn't want to go up hamilton on my way to work so I stopped at shooters on my way down, big mistake! Tastes nothing like a mocha, has an almost sour taste, no chocolate flavor at all, and I paid over 5 bucks for this! Not cool. read more

Scooter's is one of our preferred establishments of choice vs. Starbucks and others. However, this place is just not right. On the day we stopped in, my experience to get a quick coffee here was just strange... and let me tell you why. There were only 3 patrons (sitting, takling quietly) and I was the 4th - so my point is it was not a lot of hustle and bustle going on, and there were 3 people working in the store. First of all, I found it strange that they had no drink menu (nor prices listed) whatsoever - and that was fine because I was only out for 'a Bold coffee with room for cream'. So the trainee that took my order proceeded to take about 1 minute to find the correct key to choose - and then said 'That'll be $3.80.' No doubt I should have taken this as a sign - but I moved fwd with no questions despite this. After another minute, I looked behind the counter to see them talking and pumping something into my coffee cup - and so I reminded them 'Hey, guys, I just need a Bold Coffee'. The trainee replied 'Oh, I thought you said Cold Coffee'. Having gone out of my way to come here and with +8 hours of driving ahead of me - I have to admit - I lost my shit. 'Look, I love Scooter's, but you guys have got to get it together. I need a Bold Coffee with room stat - as I need to get on the road, and Now!' 'Credit my card for the Iced Coffee and I'll be on my way.' A different girl washed out my cup, and then asked me 'Do you want a medium or dark roast?' Uugh...surely this was a test I thought to myself.... 'A-hem - Bold coffee would be the Dark roast...and leave me room for cream' I reminded. She handed my coffee cup back and handed me a quart of Half and Half - which I poured to my liking. I thought this was also really strange, as it was different from 100% of the other coffee shop experiences over the past +5 years. 'We don't keep cream at the sweetner bar' she responded to my quisical look. So the Net-Net is this Scooter's in Sioux City, Iowa; there are 10X more customers across the street at Starbucks and even McDonald's - so get it together by; 1.) Putting up your drink/food menu, 2.) Training your employees to repeat back the order before transacting, 3.) Making your experienced crew members more attentive to struggling trainees -as to not negatively impact the Customer Experience - or you'll be out of business before you can say 'Iced Coffee'. read more

By 2pm I had terrible cramps and explosive diarrhea for the whole day and into the night. Note to everyone, ask to see them crack an egg. Just once!! I will never eat there again! read more

In Sioux Falls, we only have drive thru locations. I was thrilled to see that Sioux City had a Scooters and went inside to order, just to see what the inside of a Scooters was like. Immaculate- every juice and water bottle was turned with every label facing forward, everything was perfectly stocked, all chairs pushed in, counters and floors sparkling. The employees worked together very well, and even helped me pick out a smoothly for my 5 year old. Well done!! read more

I've loved this coffee shop since it opened! I've always had a pleasant experience at the Hamilton location. The baristas are very friendly and remember me and my friends by our names! They even start making our "usual" drinks as we walk in. They're quick to get our drinks out too and they genuinely care about our entire visit. It's also a nice calm place to study or meet up with an old friend. read more
