These guys serviced my bike for a couple years. They are very friendly, and seem to have a culture of bargaining always telling you they are giving discounts and treating you like a friend. This however has got in the way of providing a truly good service.
While fixing my bike on two occasions, twice they promised me a loan hire bike. (Again treating me like a friend and being a special customer as they don't have to supply bikes) the first time I arranged to meet them at the shop at 9am however on that day no one opened up until 9:30 by then I was very late for work and had to leave via a hire car and lost money at work.
The second time I arranged for a hire bike, however when the day came they did not have one. It transpires there was a mix up in communication between the staff and the staff member did not know there was a bike ready. Instead of apologising for this mistake which was theirs, they refused to accept that I was again in trouble with work.
They are nice trying to help me with hire bikes but they have been unable to fulfil their promises and because it was only a favour to me they seem to think they do not need to carry out, despite the massive inconvenience caused to me.
As a result of not having a working bike I had to buy a bike immediately that day, I went to another dealer and bought a bike.
Sadly the new dealer broke the law, and confidentiality by informing scooter world that I had bought a bike from them and that I had 'spoken badly of scooterworld' which is understandable because they had just let me down with failing to provide a hire bike. When I returned to scooterworld to get the keys for my old bike, he became aggressive physically and tried to stop me wheeling my unfixable bike from the street, until I had paid a storage fee. I had received no phone call saying they were storing it and did not ask them to do so as it was parked peacefully on the street. It is sad that a shop which has a bargaining and friendly culture is unable to accept responsibility for not communicating properly between staff and don't understand that their favours cause disappointment if not kept. I was accused of stabbing a friend in the back, when all I wanted was a fixed bike or a hire bike.
Sadly if they had kept their word I would have bought my next bike from them. As it happens I will no longer be purchasing bikes or accessories from either dealers as this informality with sharing customers details without permission is unacceptable, breaks confidentiality and against the law.
These guys have good hearts and the services they provide are generally ok but over familiarity gets in the way of them doing high quality business.
No hard feelings just sad friendliness is more important than professionalism and that is what customers want. This review is not a rant and I hope they can see it is FAIR. read more
