The meat aisle is fantastic if you buy in bulk - buy large quantities and chopping it up at home myself has become my go-to way to save money.

They posted a fabulous deal and all their whole roasts, so I had to scramble my kids into the car and get down there to grab some bargains! Once inside the store, my first stop is at the butcher department. Ring the bell and a very helpful young man will come out and load my cart with the meats. The Brass family has owned and operated this business for over 100 years. Annually they celebrate their birthday by discounting many products throughout the store as a way of thinking they're loyal customers. Just another way of exhibiting their hospitality and care for the community.

I found the meats, honeys (bee pollen!) and coffee to be irresistible. The vendors are volubly proud of their products. Look for beautiful hanging plants and seedling tomatoes. Before I forget, July 4th is a Saturday, and at 11am there will be a, "Parade of the Little Red Wagons" starting from this park. Infants, toddlers, happy dogs on leashes, and cyclists are all invited.

I've been going here ever since I was a child. I went to school with the Charlap children. It was started by the Charlap family with their dairy farm with fresh milk that would be delivered by truck and glass bottles delivery back in the day, and they made their own ice cream which they served at their location in Boston, which has been the same but has expanded in size over the years to match the production needs. My friends used to deliver milk for this dairy in a truck like the good old days! When our baseball teams won in the town, we would go here for ice cream. They have soft serve and hard ice cream and sundaes and shakes and floats. Anything that an old ice cream shop would have- they even have ice cream sandwiches and ice cream cakes for sale these days which looked insanely good. There's probably 40 to 50 different flavors of ice cream. They are all made in house and incredible. There is a second location that opened in the village of Hamburg by the owner son, Nick, and it is a much smaller space. Charlaps is open in the winter with limited hours, it is very slow that time of year. However,, In the summer, there is barely parking. There's seating indoors and outdoors. I have watched this place evolved as I have spent most of my life in this town growing up and now visiting my family, who still lives in our Homestead. So we load into the truck and search out ice cream on Yelp, within an easy drive of camp. Addie's was a nice drive from Colden Lakes! Since Harlie can't go inside to order, our chauffeur orders his, pays and then babysits while I go in to get her cone. I'm just the ice cream delivery system! The two young ladies holding down the fort were sweet, complimentary of Harlie's beauty (she's SO vain, she knows it!!!) and very helpful. Perry's ice cream, a local favorite, and lots of choices! Cute tables outside, where more Harlie fans gathered to lick cones and gaze upon her beauty. It was a good evening and Addie's was a great find! FYI their LARGE is HUGE!!!
