The menu changes every week, so there's always something new to try. Pints are also available in the freezer for self-serve. They also offer coffee and hot chocolate (for those who fear cold foods in cold weather? Hahaha) No need to rush off! Don't forget to check out the back patio! Super quick to get our ice cream. They don't have picnic tables out front, but there are benches all down mill street to sit, or you can walk and browse with your cone. They don't have a whole lot of selection, but what we had was pretty good. We got a croissant, a lemon brownie, and a salted caramel chocolate chip cookie. I'm not sure what the prices were, but it was a bit under $10 for everything. The lemon brownie was like a lemon square and was simultaneously tart and sweet. It was lovely. The croissant was flaky and tasted fresh. The cookie was a bit too salty for my liking, but wasn't bad. They have gluten-free and keto options too. The man serving us was nice. Worth a visit if you find yourself in Carleton Place, or of course if you live there ;) Street parking only. Of note: Google maps took us to the wrong location and actually to a parking lot nearby for other businesses. The address is on Allan Street so turn on Allan, don't turn southwest on "Mill Street" from Bridge Street like Google Map told us to (Mill Street only runs northeast off Bridge Street, so turning southwest is turning more into an alley way and not really a street).

Plagiarized raps out of the way, here's my review... We heard that CP general store had amazing sticky buns and were further intrigued when rumours circulated that they had the recipe from the OG Packenham General store. We made two attempts to drive the CP to get them but the staff who was there said that they didn't have them at the time we went. I called on a Saturday morning and asked if they could put some aside.... Not only did she put some aside, she was kind enough to remember us and put a bow and ribbon on this really nice gift box for my son. We got a few other things as well, they had cheese sticks, a couple of seltzer type drinks and the butter tarts. Lemme first talk about the butter tarts - they are unlike any other butter tart and I don't think I can get them from anywhere else now - they were so delicious and although sweet, the pack of 6 disappeared over two days. Now for the sticky buns: holy shit so good, you gotta get them! That's all I gotta say - just gooey and delectable! The staff - five star! The entrance is a shared entrance with a gift and antique store so overall a really nice experience. The Carleton Place General Store gets 5 stars from me.

The Long Version: There are 2 Tim Hortons locations not far from each other along Highway 7 in Carleton Place. This one is the full standalone restaurant behind the Pioneer gas station (the other one is a small kiosk inside the Circle K attached to the Esso gas station). This location has more selection of baked goods than most locations I've been to in Ottawa. They had several varieties of biscuits, the coconut cream donut and eclairs. Note that Tim Hortons eclairs are filled with whipped cream, not custard, which is my preference. However, very few locations even carry it, so I do get a bit excited when I see it, lol. We stopped here for breakfast and I got a bacon breakfast sandwich on an English muffin and my husband got a sausage breakfast sandwich on a biscuit and a large coffee ($2.07). The breakfast sandwiches are usually $4.29 each but my husband had a deal on the app to get 2 breakfast sandwiches for $6. My sandwich was good. No complaints. The English muffin wasn't burned and the sandwich contained all the ingredients it was supposed to. My standards aren't too high for fast food chains, lol.
