He encouraged us to sample whichever flavors we wanted before making a decision, and considering there was a pretty lengthy line, that level of patience was especially appreciated. At no point did we feel rushed to just pick something and move along. He also recommended a few of his personal favorites, and I ended up choosing one of his suggestions, it was amazing. What really made the experience, though, was his personality. He kept a smile on his face, had playful banter with our family, and made something as simple as choosing ice cream genuinely enjoyable. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name, but I hope Salt & Straw knows they have someone at their Disney Springs location who creates exactly the kind of first impression that makes people want to come back. Even though I sample the seasonal flavors, I almost always order a split single scoop of Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons and Double Fold Vanilla in a chocolate or seasonal waffle cone. It's my perfect combo. Since it's at Disney Springs, it can get pretty busy, especially at night, and since it's a small shop the queue line is usually wrapped outside, but it's absolutely worth the wait. Although this location is sometimes staffed with indifferent teenagers, they provide good service (if not the most attentive). There are a few outdoor tables, but we usually just park and sit in the car. There's a huge, free parking lot at the adjacent Winn Dixie grocery store, which makes for good people watching at night. This location is open late, which makes it a great stop after leaving Disney for the day. We were informed after waiting a half hour that "the party before us was getting their ice cream and we'd be seated next, all together". We repeated again that we just wanted to eat and we'd sit separately. After over an hour after our reservation time, they finally seated us (together). While I appreciate the effort, we repeatedly told them that sitting down to eat was more important than sitting together. So after 6 kids having total meltdowns due to being tired and hungry, we finally were seated. Our waitress was wonderful, very quick, and the food was good. But it was not worth the wait, or the effort it took to get there. I only made the reservation there so we could order the Kitchen Sink for dessert. I go to WDW and stay on property a lot and it was not worth the effort, especially since the front-of-house staff refused to listen.

Your dole whip/ice cream is truly the treat and reward you receive at the end. The staff also does a great job of moving the line along, but still keeping it friendly. Be advised that there aren't many table options to sit at directly by the kiosk, so you should be prepared to take your order on the go. If you are a fellow Dole Whip lover visiting Disney Springs or Walt Disney World, Swirls on the Water is a stop worth making. NOTES: You do not need a park ticket to stop by at Swirls on the Water since entry into Disney Springs is free.
