Tony, the owner of this establishment is a moody AND mean spirited person! The first Red Flag I witnessed was when I picked up my older dog from her after a grooming appointment. She barked at me that my dog needed "Trazadone!" She INSISTED that he was senile! I took him to our Veterinarian and was assured that he wasn't senile, but sensitive due to hearing and sight loss. On my last visit to have my dog's face groomed, Tony was short, snappy and grumpy toward my dog. It was then that I made the decision to never return to her salon. My new groomer validated my feelings about Tony by informing me that she had heard bad reports about her temperament. One never knows how their dog is being treated when their dog is at the groomer. We left there happy even though Jack was a bit difficult to groom. His nails were finally cut short enough that they were easy for him to walk. His cut made him look like a healthy pup again. They do a great job with our dog, and are friendly and easy to deal with. Our dog hates taking a bath and always gets nervous to go to the groomer, but her hair grows fast, so we have to take her regularly. They take good care of her and let her air dry in front of a fan after her bath, which she loves! She is always clean and happy when we pick her up. read more

I've lived in Forestville My whole life. I have always taken my dogs to their normal veterinary clinic to get any sort of nail trimming done. Due to COVID-19 my veterinary clinic is not offering any nail trimming services. They told me to reach out to a local groomer. So I called Scissorhands. I have three dogs all different sizes and all different breeds.The lady who answered the phone started with "Hello?!?", I was caught off guard thinking I might've called the wrong number. Then she was like " Oh Scissorhands" I asked simple questions about services and fees, and she said the cost was depending on the size of the animal. Then she asked if they were good about trimming their nails. I said if they were I probably would do it myself. Then she asked if they would bite, I have a Teacup Chihuahua who can be a little bit nippy but has never actually punctured or drawn blood. But isn't enthusiastic about the whole process. As I begin to explain this to her she told me "it was a yes or no answer".Right then and there I knew I would never be taking my dogs to Scissorhands. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. I know businesses are struggling right now to get back on their feet. I had no problem supporting their business. But that's no way to treat clientele. So even though I never got a service from this so-called groomer. My over the phone experience was enough to know that this place probably sucks. read more

I called to get some basic details about fees, services, etc and the woman who answered the phone was not at all polite. My dog is a rescue and she was obviously frustrated that I didn't know my dogs exact breeds. Telling her he was a shepherd mix wasnt enough and she wanted to know if he was a pitbull (which he isn't) He's an older dog and has never been profesionally groomed so naturally I'm being cautious about who I go to. She was shocked I hadn't had him groomed before and asked "what have you even been doing this whole time?" Not the most offensive question but her tone throughout the entire conversation made it pretty insulting. I have no idea how they are in person, or how their grooming skills are here, but in terms of customer service I'd give them 0 stars. read more

I have been taking my dogs to Scissorhands for around 18 years now first with my two Miniature Schnauzers and for the last 9 tears with my Bouvier des Flandres. Toni has always done an excellent job grooming them but even more importantly the way she handles the dogs and the obvious love she has for them is just priceless. Nothing is more important to me when I have to leave my dogs somewhere with someone else than to know without question they are in the best possible care. My 14 year old Pekingese is a rescue and suffers from congestive heart failure. The most important feature of Scissorhands isn't the quality of their work, which is great. For us, it's the obvious love Toni has for all the animals in her care.
