The best! Friendly, very good at turning a dirty dog into a princess. I won't take my dog anywhere else.

We take both of our beagles here monthly. They do a wonderful job and my two are fine with going there.

I normally do not leave negative reviews, but this experience left me genuinely disappointed…read more We brought our puppy to The Dog and Hydrant for three grooming visits total. During the very first visit at only around 3 months old, they mentioned he was somewhat difficult around the face/head area and were unable to fully complete the trim. Fair enough -- he was a very young puppy experiencing grooming for the first time. What makes this situation frustrating is that his second visit went completely fine. They successfully completed his undercarriage, face, and head trim with no issue reported at all. On this third visit, we were told he was "wiggly" and somewhat mouthy specifically around face trimming. We were also informed he chewed on a few nearby things, including the groomer's hair. While I absolutely understand puppies can be energetic and require patience during grooming, this is still a young dog in the acclimation stage -- not an aggressive adult dog with a history of dangerous behavior. More concerning was that his nose was nicked during the appointment, and immediately afterward we were told prescription sedation would now be mandatory for any future grooming visits. That recommendation felt excessive and honestly alarming considering the circumstances. Suggesting sedation for a puppy because he was wiggly during face grooming raises serious concerns for me about patience, handling expectations, and experience working with young dogs still learning the process. To be clear, the cut is passable and the front desk staff was polite and professional. My issue is more with the overall handling philosophy and escalation to mandatory sedation after what sounds like fairly typical puppy behavior. We will unfortunately be taking our business elsewhere.

I cannot recommend Cathy's Holistic Spaw enough. From the very first interaction, Cathy was…read moreincredibly kind and accommodating. She fit us in quickly because my black lab has surgery coming up this Wednesday, which I really appreciated. What truly sets her apart, though, is the care and understanding she shows for each dog. My fox red lab is extremely nervous around people. She usually barks, cowers, and takes a long time to warm up. Cathy generously offered for me to bring her in just to spend time in the space with her, her husband, and their dogs, purely to help her feel more comfortable. The moment we arrived, I could tell this place was special. The space is beautiful and clearly designed with dogs in mind, and Cathy herself is just lovely. Almost immediately, my nervous pup, who usually barks at everyone, was calmly approaching her, sniffing her hand, and even taking treats without making a sound. I was honestly amazed. I left feeling completely at ease, knowing both of my dogs were in the best possible hands. Cathy kept me updated throughout the entire visit, not only about my black lab's groom, but also about my other pup who wasn't even there for a groom. She simply took the time to help her build comfort and trust for future visits, which is something you just don't see often. When I came back, my black lab looked perfect, and both dogs were happy, relaxed, and honestly didn't want to leave. That says everything. People like Cathy are truly special. This is absolutely our place from now on.

She did a great job and you can just tell she works well with animals. So appreciate this service!read more

I think the last time they saw my dog was around Covid time. However, I think their service is very reasonably priced. I will also say I think they did a fun great job with my pup. Most places wanna charge you over $100 luckily this place was under 100 and it included the wash as well as a nail trim and she didn't look horrible after . I am glad they were able to take me in the lady at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. I will definitely be going back here for Haircut for my pup.

They did not check to make sure dogs are up to date on shots. Not good. Dog owners should be asked to show proof. Thank god my dog is all up to date on shots, who knows if there is a dog with parvo or something. I brought a blanket for my little 6 lb rescue service dog so he could have it in his kennel while he waited. it was tossed on the floor in all the hair from all the other dogs and when they put him in the kennel the did not put his blanket with him. I found it hanging over the railing in front. I was not happy. I was not happy at all with his hair cut either. $95.00 not worth it. and why only cash or check??? They need to be more professional. Clean up all the hair as they go clean after each grooming of each dog. sweep or vacuum. I wanted my dog out of there so bad I reluctantly handed her a $100.00 bill and walked out. Just terrible.
