I've seen him for various issues as well as routine skin checks over the years. Any issue he has treated was remedied. My daughter had a cyst removed in the middle of her forehead years ago and there is barely a scar. She visited him for acne troubles and as long as she stays the course, her skin is acne free. I only see Dr. Borenstein; therefore, I don't have an opinion regarding the rest of the medical staff. I have a couple of friends who see the PA Nicole and they speak highly of her. I did visit Dr. Shapiro many years ago and I was pleased with my experience. There were many new support staff on my recent visit and the assistant I interacted with was phenomenal. She was both extremely kind and knowledgeable. I'm having a forgetful moment, but her name starts with an L and she's a brunette. If you find yourself in need of a dermatologist or have cosmetic skincare needs, I highly recommend Gardens Dermatology. Their office is clean, the staff is friendly and I've never been disappointed. Furthermore, the folks I've referred have become permanent patients.

Not many clinics had advanced laser technology, but even fewer offered CO2 Laser Resurfacing. Elle carefully explains everything they are going to do and takes plenty of time to let you express any concerns on what you may feel you need for yourself. The rooms are always spotless and the staff, friendly and professional. Pain free, results are just wonderful.

I'm just tired of making an appointment and rarely being seen at that time! Anyway, more annoying is how the office staff make me have to approach them and ask why I'm still waiting! Moving on to the doctor... she was very lively, thorough and professional at the same time. She spoke to me as if we'd been friends for a long time and was easy to understand. She answers other related questions and even asked me about my own family's health. She's hidden in the north east side of the lantana complex next to game stop and the dollar store. All that needs to make a 5 star is common courtesy... which is sadly lacking in most of these professions, but it should t stop you from going.

I asked how long and she responds rudely I just said I'm working on your paperwork and another staff member dressed in scrubs chimes in we need to verify insurance. I mentioned this was provided when making the appointment and my wife is a patient, on my insurance. I asked how long; 15 minutes or 30 since I work and have appointments. Callie is responsible for making my skin look the best it's ever looked, It's miraculous. My skin hasn't been this clear since I was a child. I don't wear makeup on my face anymore, I don't need it and I want to maintain what we've achieved. Besides that, she's super friendly, and the session totally flies by. My 15 yo brother sees her too and he he actually likes talking to her. She treats him very kindly. I've been meaning to write this review for a while, but I'm a procrastinator. What prompted me to finally write it, is that recently I've made the decision to do micro needling, which looks scary to me, but I found out Callie is the person who does those, so I'm not quite as nervous as I was before. I figure I can post an update about it. Ps, I like a couple of the ladies at the desk too, especially the woman who always checks me out when I'm done.

1/5 -- Repeated Billing Problems…read more I was a patient of Dr. Akhil Gupta at Skin Center of Florida and stopped seeing him in October 2025, largely because of my repeated frustration with the practice's billing. My experience was that I would pay what I was asked to pay, frequently in advance, and on more than one occasion I believed my account was fully paid, only to later be told that I owed additional money. On one previous occasion, I challenged a bill and the charge was subsequently removed. The latest incident happened approximately ten months after I stopped seeing Dr. Gupta. I received a call regarding an outstanding pathology bill. When I called Dr. Gupta's office and asked which visit the charge related to, the office could not identify the specific visit and instead gave me three possible dates: June 5, 2024, September 15, 2025, and October 1, 2025. I then had to track the matter down myself. Global Pathology/Sonic Healthcare's Miami office was ultimately able to identify records associated with the two 2025 dates and directed me to CCS regarding a balance of $183.62. I negotiated a 15% reduction and paid $156.08 to resolve that account in full. To be clear, my complaint is not that this final pathology balance was necessarily improper. My complaint is the repeated billing confusion I experienced and the amount of work required to determine what I was supposedly being billed for. Patients should be able to receive a clear accounting showing the date of service, insurance adjustments, payments and credits, and the actual amount owed. In my experience, getting those answers was unnecessarily difficult. After repeated billing problems, I finally decided I had had enough and stopped using the practice. Based on my personal experience with its billing and administration, I would not return and cannot recommend this practice.
