First, let me say that Chloe gives a thorough exam, probably the best skin exam I've had so far. Now on to my complaint. They called to remind me of my appointment and mumbled something on the answering machine (yes, an old fashioned phone) about it being at something something Pennsylvania Ave, but nothing about having changed location. No one sent me in the mail a notice that their office had been changed. I didn't opt for cell notices since I only use my cell when out of the house and may not look at it for days. Doctor offices should MAIL notices to patients when they change locations, especially elderly ones like me. So I arrive at their old office in Vestal a bit early as requested only to find the door locked and a sign saying "Closed on Monday" with the hours on other days. WTH???? Then I saw that address again, madly rushed out and drove fast to the Pennsylvania exit from the Vestal Pkwy, thinking they must mean the building I used to go to when I had my hip replaced. Parked at breakneck speed, ran in side, and no, that wasn't the place. They said go back out on PA ave and it's on your right. No, it wasn't, I had to go up and down the street to find it and it wasn't remotely marked as Schweiger. There was a sign about skin something or other so I thought maybe that's it. Went in and it was dark downstairs, no one there, no signs pointing upstairs but I went up and that's where it was. How on earth are you supposed to know? They claimed the reason for no marking was that people kept stealing the signs. So, why couldn't they just stick a paper sign on the door saying Schweiger Dermatology? This was incredible. I could have been killed driving like crazy to find where my appointment was.
In addition, no one EVER SMILES at this office. This is probably my third or 4th time with this group since changing from another dermatologist in Scranton. I changed because I find driving to Binghamton area easier than driving into Scranton. All three or four times, not a single person smiled except for the receptionist. My conclusion, everyone hates their jobs except for the receptionist. My husband goes to the Endicott office where the people are friendly. I would go there too except I hate driving on major highways and can go regular roads to the Binghamton one.
I sincerely wish that people were as friendly as they are competent there. I don't understand all the apparent misery. read more
