Another update with 5 stars, again!…read more This complex was built in the early seventies, and although the condo I rent came with major upgrades when I moved in almost five years ago, things still happen. For a while, the upper panel on the white Maytag over-the-stove microwave kept falling off, and I kept reattaching it. Then the day came when I could no longer reattach it. I logged a support request. Soon, Fernando Vazques texted me, asking for the microwave's serial number. I took photos and texted them back to him, and in the process, I learned that the appliance's manufacturing date was January 2004. So it was over two decades old, but it still worked great if not for the panel falling off. I thought they would order a replacement part for that panel. However, it turned out that it would be cheaper to replace the whole microwave. Fernando kept me updated on the approval progress, the order from Lowe's, and the delivery. Once two guys from Lowe's delivered the microwave, Fernando coordinated the installation. One guy from Intempus came, installed the new microwave, and removed the old one; everything would have been ok if not for a large area of paint that peeled off the wall beneath the microwave. I sent pictures to Fernando. Several days later, David, a tech, arrived to fix the paint issue. I brought out all the cans of paint I keep in the outside storage shed that I found here upon move-in. However, none of that paint matched the color on the kitchen wall. So David went to a paint store and used their paint color matching machine (I hadn't even heard of such a tool before!) to find the exact match. He returned from the store and did a super careful job achieving the orange peel effect on the wall. He also went around the unit, noticed things, fixed them, and responded to my reports of minor annoyances. For example, he reinserted the large patio screen back into its railing, fixing the railing so that the screen wouldn't fall off again. He also gave me good advice on keeping the place in good shape and admired the many plants I keep outside my unit, which warmed my heart. There was definitely a silver lining to how protracted the microwave replacement turned out to be, in that David fixed things I didn't even bother reporting. I definitely felt I was in good hands with Fernando and David responding to my service request, and I know that if anything else needs fixing in the future, I will be in their good hands again.

They seem to overcharge home owners for poor services and rely only on brand name to get business. In contrast, Distinct Property Management felt like a breath of fresh air. After reading Distinct's solid reviews and after having an in depth conversation with Nora, I decided to take the leap. I'm so glad I did! Nora, Stacy, and her team are very professional and respond quickly whenever you have a question or need them! My tenant rental situation was quite challenging and this is why I hired a property manager. Nora was ready, prepared, and used her experience and expertise to manage the entire situation. It really took a weight off my shoulders. I'm very confident that few property managers would have been able to deal with this difficult situation. On top of handling the typical rental property operations (eg. maintenance, rental payments, etc), Nora adds a TON of value when things get hairy and complex! She was able to effectively handle aggressive neighbors/HOA and disruptive tenants. Upon move out, she did a comprehensive walk through with photos and gave me everything I needed to get the unit back to new. In a couple situations, I was out of the country and could not get to the unit. This required Nora's help, which was above and beyond our initial property management agreement. Nora gladly did an inspection highlighting issues where the building was not correctly painted and also let me borrow one of her lock boxes for several weeks so that I could send providers to the unit without me being there. She lent me her lockbox even after we were no longer working together and the tenants had already vacated. This kind of service is like no other! Distinct is just AWESOME! I look forward to working with Distinct and Nora once the unit is ready for rent again. Beautiful kitchen, fully equipped, 3 bedrm 3 full baths, and an upstairs patio to watch the beach along with the nightly sunset. It was super easy to book and the front office even left me a beautiful flower arrangement at the property when I arrived because I mentioned I was booking for my birthday. AWESOME! The first night it rained but we cozied up to the electric fireplace and pulled the blinds up to watch the ocean from the huge windows in the living room. I had friends that arrive on Saturday and were amazed on the views and the location of the property and asked for property info as they are going to book this particular home.
