We retained this firm because of the glowing reviews but our experience has been far from that. If…read moreyou are looking for an empathetic firm that prioritizes communication with clients, look somewhere else. They represented us for approximately 96 hours and I promptly switched counsel due to the lack of concern for the urgency of our situation. There was an EPO put out on my husband that prevented him from coming to the house and any contact with family. This meant he was going to miss the holidays with family and be absent for our boys' birthdays. More pressingly, I was forced to run a single parent household of 4 kids which put our lives under severe hardship. We needed the EPO lifted ASAP and every passing day my husband was apart from us, I was barely making it through the day. I believe this urgency was conveyed when I came in the office but the firm failed to respond accordingly to the dire situation. Megan said she would call me with an update and I never heard from her. I was told the portal would be updated but there was nothing ever updated on the case portal. They simply emailed my husband with a court date of Jan 9th, which meant my family would've been separated for another month! No call, no explanation, just a passive email. A hearing date one month out was absolutely unacceptable not to mention the mode of communication with lack of concern to our circumstance. I have had my fair share of retained attorneys and scrappy communication especially during these trying times for our family is one that is unacceptable. We switched counsel and got a hearing date within 4 business DAYS! My husband was able to come back home within a week of switching counsel. We are SO glad we did not choose to stick with the Wilder firm. Our family would've still been torn apart today had they had continued representing us. Oh, and worse, they still wanted to keep 25% of the total fee for the fruitless work, despite the bare minimum effort they have put into our case in those first 3 days. I've called their office SO many times and the front desk kept saying the attorneys are busy, that they will call me back, but it's been about 3 weeks and no one has called me back. Go figure. Also be prepared to shell out another grand on top of their fee for all the classes they expect you to take. It seems their strategy is to take all the classes you possibly can, regardless the severity of the offense, rather than taking a strategic approach on a case-by-case basis. Less work for the firm I suppose. I'd like to warn others to stay away from this firm if they expect compassion and want actions with a sense of urgency, because this was not that firm in our experience. "A good attorney knows the law, a great attorney knows the judge", I hope anyone that reads this goes to find a great attorney.

Doug goes above and beyond with helping his clients. I highly recommend his professional services.read more

Doug Wilder was able to get a family member out of a DWI by getting the charge significantly…read morereduced and this person never had to go to court. Little did I know that I'd also one day desperately need his services. I was falsely accused of domestic violence while going through a divorce and an ex-parte order was filed against me without my knowledge. Doug immediately advised me to take a polygraph test and arranged for the two of us to meet with the detective in charge of the case -- on a Sunday when most lawyers can't be bothered. Doug helped me navigate the system and helped prevent me from not only losing custody of my children but also from losing my job. Doug believes in seeking justice and will go the extra mile to fight for his clients. If you find yourself in need of a criminal defense lawyer, look no further than The Wilder Firm. He pisses excellence!

We were completely lost as to whom to hire for my son's DWI case. However, after searching, we came…read moreacross Texas Defense Firm McKinney and decided to schedule a consultation. This was the best choice we ever made, and we looked no further. Our case was defended by Ryan King, who is truly a personal counsel who meticulously cares about your case. He worked tirelessly and combed through everything. He can literally find a needle in a haystack--which is exactly what he did for my son's case. My family and I are truly and deeply grateful for Mr. King's honest counsel and representation. We were earnestly praying for the best outcome, and Mr. King delivered a NOT GUILTY verdict! We are so thankful for his outstanding counsel. THANK YOU!!!

Please consider other options before going with this one. we…read morereached out due to a CPS report which would have gotten settled without a lawyer however due to the accusations we wanted a legal professional opinion just to be safe. First they state a free consultation in which we found is the only way that is true is if you have actually been arrested otherwise you pay so we had to pay 500.00 to the criminal lawyer whose name is Reynie Tinajero ( in which he was very friendly ) But his information we pretty much already knew because again we knew we were only there so we could be educated on our legal rights . Fast forward to the end of the consultation he suggested we consult to the CPS attorney which name is Alyce Ferguson for a 30 minute consultation will cost us 250.00 and it's not even a in person consultation it was an over the phone consultation so she states from point A to point B it will be cleared up for 1,500 because her fee is 500.00 a hour so instead of us paying as we go she says it has to be paid all at once . So again, we pay it this was all done in 1 day which was on a Monday June 2.2025 to be exact so by this point within 1 hour and 30 minutes we have offically paid 2,250 that was not expected at all. Tuesday June 3rd, we agree to meet this is where it takes a turn for the worse she is 10 minutes late she stays maybe 40 minutes and leaves as she is leaving CPS calls, and we agree to meet on Friday June 7 she states we will touch base Wednesday, we exchange text that morning and that's all Thursday morning a few more text at this point I tell her i need to actually speak with you because you were hired to give me peace of mind and you have me feeling as if I am a criminal so she states she's in court all day so that's fine just when you are available so she calls 20 minutes later and all is well Friday comes she shows up at 1:00 our meeting is 1:30 with CPS so that's great but we literally are just sitting here while she is on the phone with another client apologizing to them about something and using words like prison and so on that we do not even use in front of our children (totally unprofessional) while she's stating she has another appointment to get to so CPS comes all is well 15 minutes later during the visit she gets up and states she has to get to her next appointment so can we call her and have it on speaker so sure of course well little did we know while on speaker the phone hangs up. At this point although our meeting is going well i didn't want to make the wrong move so i call her back-to-back and get nothing but a voicemail and a text 2 minutes later saying i will touch base all is well and thats it now of course the sweet CPS lady gave us all the good news we needed but this lawyer failed us even though we knew it was going to be a closed case she made us more nervous like how things can get twisted and all the above. I usually would not leave a review like this however in this case its necessary because CPS can be serious and be scary but what if a family is less fortunate and actually don't have the money to pay or have to borrow or etc. All I'm saying is do your research first please. although each individual was very nice this just was not right, we are still out of 500.00 because she literally never spent more than a total 2 hours with us. And last but not least we did actually hear back from her saying she was in a car accident that's why the call failed smh God Bless you all and i hope this helps you if you are ever in this situation
