Having a high value for referrals, I thought I'd give her a call. That was the best phone call I have ever made for my business - ever. This is my fourth year working with Samantha. Initially she helped me with my personal tax preparation and planning for my sole proprietorship. Now that I am involved with an incorporated business, she is an integral part of our survival and success as they help us with tax planning and filing, payroll, accounting and bookkeeping. I cannot say enough good things about Samantha and the staff here. After some terrible experiences with some other "professionals" and accounting firms in the area, I feel like I've found gold. I was not put up to this review, not paid nor even asked. In fact, they didn't even have a Yelp profile yet and are unaware I created it! I just hoped to share the experience I've had. Did I mention that I drive down from Redding to Chico to meet with my accountant? It's the highlight of my tax season each year!

I had a problem with an accountant before her, and I hired her to help me fix the issue, which as far as the returns go she did. I also asked her to help me deal with FTB about the debt, and she basically did some procedure with them that took 6 months, before which I HIGHLIGHTED REPEATEDLY that I did not want to pay more interest, she responded that that account would be on hold and there would be no interest. Well at the end of 6 months, I ended up having to take the matter into my own hands, pay nearly 2000.00 dollars in interest. When ever I have any questins about anything I have to wait 2 weeks to a month, and our appointments never seem to resolve anything I repeatedly ended up calling FTB myself to resolve it. I am now about to pay more money for something she did and didnt take responsibility for. if you want straight forward work done, she will do a good job, but don't hire her to clean up any messes, it will end bad. I am grateful for her help, but it was AGONIZINGLY SLOW, and disappointing to have to do everything extra myself. I dont know that first thing about talking with FTB, or maneuvering their systems, and I was forced to resolve 'clean up' part of the issue my self, paying over 5000+$ for a bill that was originally 1800.00 or 2000. She made excuses that seemed legit but was really hiding behind the confusion left by the man who messed it all up in the first place (before I hired her) the extra money was over 60% interest for her mis information, and misleading me by telling me that the account would be on hold, and despite me asking and insisting if that meant NO INTEREST, AND HER SAYING YES THATS WHAT IT MEANT, I payed the interest.
