My girlfriend dragged me here saying vegetarian food can be nice. Even though I was really sceptical because I love meat and they don't have any on their menu i loved it. It was really delicious! The people working there looked and acted really stoned but I guess that's just the vegetarian community. Surprisingly, only the potato was hot and the rest was rather cold. I liked that, my gf didn't like it so much. To sum it, I would definitely go here again and try their other Kumpirs! read more

They serve super huge baked potatoes with lots of direct stuff on the side. The prices vary from 5 to 8 Euro and the selection is small but nice which makes it easy to decide. Not very cosy and comfy but in the summer quite nice cause a lot a people stroll around and enjoy the flair of the city. read more

A very pleasant spot, near the train station and not far from the tourist areas. Inexpensive. One topped baked potato is an ample dinner by European standards. As of this writing, it's all vegetarian with vegan options. The topping quantity is reasonable, so it's not all just potato. Nice outdoor seating, and adjacent to a small park with other little restaurants, bars, ice cream shops, etc. nearby if you want to make a picnic out of it. read more

Geschmacklich finde ich die Kumpirs im Schrebergarten klasse. Zubereitet werden die Kartoffelen in einem Kumpir-Ofen und mit verschiedenen leckeren Füllungen nach Wahl serviert. Jetzt, der Sommer verschwindet, wird im Schrebergarten eine heiße "Tomaten-Fenchel-Suppe mit zitronigem Walnuss-Gremolata (vegan)" serviert. Muss ich noch probieren. Bis vor einigen Monaten war die Frage Fleisch oder Gemüse für mich noch nicht so wichtig. Aber nachdem ich mich intensiv mit den Umweltzerstörungen durch Masttierhaltung auseinandergesetzt hatte, gehe ich meistens vegetarisch essen. Der Schrebergarten ist in Mainz eine sehr gute Alternative. Das sehen allerdings sehr viele andere auch so. Zu Stoßzeiten muss man sich erstmal in eine Schlange an der Kasse einreihen. Ich musste auch schon auf einen Salat ausweichen, da der Kumpir-Ofen überlastet war. Trotzdem, fand es immer gut. read more

Super lecker, tolles Team, toll eingerichtet! I love Kumpir! Ich brauche eigentlich immer Fleisch, aber dieses Restaurant hat mich überzeugt, dass es auch ohne geht. Mein Favorit: der Thassos-Kumpir. Der Schrebergarten strahlt eine tolle Atmosphäre aus. Nette Leute und stylisch eingerichtet. Eine Bereicherung für den Gartenfeldplatz, die Neustadt und ganz Mainz. read more

Leider ist das Angebot an vegetarisch- veganen Restaurants in unserer region nicht sonderlich groß. Umso erfreulicher, dass es den Schrebergarten gibt. Die Kumpirs sind das Highlight der Karte. Das Restaurant ist immer sehr gut besucht, der Service leidet darunter etwas, was den gesamteindruck leider etwas schmälert. read more

Sehr leckeres Essen, Preise sind ok. Im Sommer kann man schön draussen sitzen, da innen drin es etwas eng ist. Kumpir ist zu empfehlen. Eine Bereicherung für den Gartenfeldplatz. read more
