Many…read morepeople have told me that schools in the Mainland are nothing like Hawaii, and I'm sure that is true, but still, I wanted to send my daughter to a private school. We looked and looked and looked. There were many schools that looked good, but their class sizes were so big with only one teacher I was concerned my daughter would get lost in the crowd and would not be able to get what she needs in education. I came across Brownell Talbot in my research and remembered that a few of my classmates from Creighton went there and they were super well rounded individuals, so, I made my husband take us to the open house :) At the school, we found out that their class sizes in the elementary were usually around 10-18 students with two teachers per class. They have a well rounded curriculum where they have everything like math, art, history, but they also learn French, and for PE they learn swimming! That's way more than I ever had in Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten! Well, I finally ended up convincing my husband that we needed to send our daughter here! All the teachers she has had so far were amazing! They are so friendly and caring and definitely know how to teach young children. My daughter always comes home telling us all of the new things she has learned at this school! We love Brownell Talbot and as long as we live in the Omaha area, our daughter will go here.

I did a little digging on TikTok too. There has been at least 1 suicide in the past few years. I found the name of one student, I'm trying to find one I heard about from 2018-2019. My kid goes here and he's been dealing with bullying. The school insists they do not allow bullying. I wish they'd open their eyes and stop denying there's a problem here. Teachers I've spoken with says Buffett used to be a good school until 4-5 ish years ago. They all say the same things. I've been doing a lot of digging lately because of the stuff my kid has been going through. The stuff OPS allows is absolutely sickening. The ratings for the entire district are well below average. This school in particular practices collective punishment- punishing an entire grade for the actions of a few. They took snack time away from every kid in 7th grade because they had problems with some kids popping chip bags. The email went out to only 7th grade students, not parents. Collective punishment is what they do in the military it's not meant for children in school. It is a lazy way of not getting to the bottom of a real issue and promotes bullying. It also creates resentment from the students who do nothing wrong. Of all the things good students do for this school, punishing them when the typical problem kids mess up, is wrong.

Went here to watch my son's basketball game. I tried tapping him at the back and turned to me and said why don't I move. The 13year old was really a jerk and rude and keep on doing the same thing on and on. Then few minutes later the Mom of the Student came to me and tried to defend the son and asked me why call his son an ass*****. I said I didn't say that. Tried explaining what happened and the Mom still asking the same question. Then eventually, a group of parent came in between and told the Mom that her Son was really rude and started it. Then mom keep on going trying to argue with the group of parents, then Mom and Kid left. If this is the kind of student that this school has, I wonder what the most students be like. I will be not recommend this school at all. Having a bad student means having bad reputation.
