Went their last year. Terrible experience. Teachers are uninterested in teaching. Don't go if you can. Fights almost every day.

Alice Buffett Magnet Middle School - Omaha Public Schools - Kid was bullied by cafeteria worker for being bald. OPS relocated her after it went public bc they feared for the employee's safety.

Google the school and get an idea from the news articles. Google the names of the leadership as…read morewell and you'll find how they handle things from their past. It's scary. I did a little digging on TikTok too. There has been at least 1 suicide in the past few years. I found the name of one student, I'm trying to find one I heard about from 2018-2019. My kid goes here and he's been dealing with bullying. The school insists they do not allow bullying. I wish they'd open their eyes and stop denying there's a problem here. Teachers I've spoken with says Buffett used to be a good school until 4-5 ish years ago. They all say the same things. I've been doing a lot of digging lately because of the stuff my kid has been going through. The stuff OPS allows is absolutely sickening. The ratings for the entire district are well below average. This school in particular practices collective punishment- punishing an entire grade for the actions of a few. They took snack time away from every kid in 7th grade because they had problems with some kids popping chip bags. The email went out to only 7th grade students, not parents. Collective punishment is what they do in the military it's not meant for children in school. It is a lazy way of not getting to the bottom of a real issue and promotes bullying. It also creates resentment from the students who do nothing wrong. Of all the things good students do for this school, punishing them when the typical problem kids mess up, is wrong.

This review is for the Child Development Center (CDC) at St. Luke. We had an amazing experience…read morefor the three years our child was at St. Luke's. There are so many things we enjoyed about our time there. The CDC has its own separate, secured entrance. The friendly office staff greets you and your child before letting you in through another secured door. The classrooms are large, inviting, and clean. The facility also has a child-friendly cafeteria, gymnasium, and giant outdoor play area with playground equipment, age-appropriate toys, and a seasonal garden. The part I loved most about St. Luke's were the learning experiences my child had in each of her classrooms. When my child started, as a post-Covid baby, she was not used to being around peers or following school routines. She also had a speech delay. The teachers at St. Luke's created a warm, inclusive, and positive learning environment that allowed her to be herself and grow. They were open and willing to work with her speech therapist and frequently communicated outcomes with me. Their daily schedule included a healthy amount of age-appropriate learning balanced with play allowing her to develop academic skills and make friends. The icing on the cake were the musical, art, and sports opportunities she was able to participate in. I'm happy to report that my child no longer has a speech delay and is more than ready to start school in the fall. I highly recommend St. Luke's to anyone looking for a great place to support and develop your whole child and set them up for success in kindergarten.

While the daycare is located within the church, it has a separate entrance. It's a large facility complete with cafeteria, gymnasium and a fantastic outdoor play area that has playground equipment and garden. All of the staff and teachers are fantastic. We found everyone to be friendly, attentive, communicative, and understanding. In each of the two classrooms my son was in he had a wonderful experience. The environment was such that he could be himself. They also do a great job of scheduling activities which allow the children to learn thru lessons as well as thru play. I'll also add that they handled the pandemic very well. They communicated the changes, reduced class sizes, required staff and parents to wear masks and provided sanitizer. I recommend anyone looking for a great daycare to consider St. Luke.
