Some people say that the original apostles did not recite stories. Fact was they were mostly madmen. Yet they were worthy as disciples. At one time, most people never questioned the word of God. People said they went to temples to connect with god. But everyone will tell you that nothing feels more like the presence of god than a furious storm. Since everyone seemed to fear their god. I suppose it was natural for them to run from any storm. I imagine anyone who truly feels the love of their divine creator. Has the most questions. Especially when it often feels like god is constantly testing with life challenges. That kind of love, from a woman can drive a man wild. I imagine God's love, can send a man on insanely journeys. Some guy shot an arrow to get his attention. And I suppose other men have walked right into the beast of all storms. A leap of faith indeed. A madness that demands god to confront him. Either by peace of mind. Or death. Probably how "Give me liberty or give me death" originated. Unfortunately that kind of story is very difficult to validate. But I heard that a girl once witnessed a dead madman who walked in his own death. And even returned to tell her the entire story. I believe she goes by the name Grace.

The campus is a perfect size for a smaller class size school experience. Many things to play with at recess! The buildings are quaint and unique carrying the essence of Boulder City to the students each day. The chapel is very intimate and inviting. A wonderful introduction to a Christian chapel. I have volunteered here to help get ready for the church sale. The teachers and staff are so supportive and nurturing! She is constantly yelling at the children. Tells the parents that she will work with each student individually but does NOT (there are only a total of 8 students and about 5 teachers) but yet my daughter has yet to learn a single thing in the month that she has been there. She learned so much more at her other school. Ms. Carrol also told my daughter she is not smart and now she comes home saying "mommy I'm not smart, with my numbers" my daughter has yet to learn a single thing there. her previous school taught her the number one to six, and has yet to learn seven at this school. She just comes home feeling dumb like she can not learn, because of this miserable woman.

She learned far more than required to start Kindergarten; letters, numbers, colors, shapes, name recognition and the list goes on! The class sizes are very small, every child is known by name. Spanish is taught several times a week. Breakfast is family style and lunches are a time to visit and enjoy friends company. The toys are older, like the toys I grew up with. Not a bunch of blinking lights, stuff to engage the imagination! Children are taught to behave. I prefer things to be more strict because my kids are coddled so much at home. Its a good balance for my family. They have their own playground. Oh! My kiddo was even in the Newspaper! All of the teachers are older, its like sending them to Grandmas. (Grandma is loving but firm!) The children will emerge from Oaklane Academy as wholesome, well rounded learners. Beings that we are in a small town, I still see the kids my daughter went to school with, they are all very bright and respectful. These are not the kids you see throwing tantrums and having disciplinary issues. Mrs. Gordon had a pretty full field trip schedule in the summers as well. We love it so much that my three year old twins just started this week!

So it's been a while since my initial review, and there have been changes many amazing, some…read moredisheartening . I now have children in the Elementary and one entering the High School. The Good Pinecrest still provides an exceptional academic program. I've had very open and transparent interaction with teachers and staff (family oriented). Looking at the schools data/ scores and the progress of my own children, I can attest to the success they have in providing an educational experience that can not be matched by the Public School System. It is rigorous and requires students do the work. Success at Pinecrest is dependent on what students and parents put in. Infinite Campus is updated and I appreciate being able to see what they are working on and when they will be assessed. It helps me keep track of my kids assignments and provide guidance as needed. If your student needs help, just ask. They have a system of support that is very student centered. The school is modern and progressive. They expose students to the technological advances needed to prepare them to be competitive as they enter college and workforce. Additionally they frequently have Guest Speakers, various Community Organizations, Events (very active PTA), Field Trips, all coveted opportunities that gives students exposure to every thing from Entrepreneurship, Career Exploration,The Arts, Community Building the list goes on. The programs for Middle School and extracurricular activities offered are top tier in my opinion. I am supper excited by the addition of the High School Career and College Tracks offered to the students. Pinecrest covering the majority of associated cost. Leaving High School with a Diploma, Certification or degree/ credits is a valuable opportunity. The Bad As Pinecrest has expanded there has been a very noticeable change in negative student behaviors. Bullying, Racism, and Mental Healthl issues have marred the appeal of the school. These issues in my experiences unfortunately have not been limited to students. However, when I've reached out I have almost immediately response and have recieved swift action. Once again, parental involvement is needed in addressing these issues and proactively seeking meaningful resolutions. I also feel Pinecrest needs to revamp how they set and enforce expectations when it comes to behavior. Most students there appreciate all that the achool offers. They come in ready to learn and engage in all the benefits the school provides. However, there are some that disrespect the learning environment continuously contributing little to the overall environment of the school. This is simply not acceptable. It does not go with the core values and goals of the school. More needs to be done to support the teachers in the classroom so that they can teach without distractions. Overall, our time at Pinecrest Cadence has been good. While like any other school there are issues, the overall value provided is still exceptional. I hope that as the school continues to grow they continue putting student success at the healm. Creating an environment where all students feel seen and valued.

I have known parents who have sent their kids here and have had a good experience (for the most part). We are into the second week of the new school year & I am already unenrolling my child because we found a new school that was a better fit socially and academically. Please do not send your child here if they require any kind of assistance. To start the IEP teacher reached out to me before the school year to set up a meeting with is standard and missed both of our meetings, didn't return my emails for weeks. The school did not provide my child the accommodations as outlined in their IEP, which is against the law. Moving forward, they refused to provide an elective aside from study hall because they claimed they were at capacity with every other elective. My child got dress coded twice in the first week. Once for a skirt that was in their section at the uniform store 2nd because her skirt had buttons on it and it wasn't a plain khaki skirt in their words. Upon arriving to the open house and explaining to the teacher the accommodations outlined in the IEP the teacher stated that she wasn't allowed to use her accommodations in her room because she shouldn't have to explain to the other kids why my child was so special. The school had a food truck outside during their lunch break and refused to provide my child and my child's friend anything because they said and I quote "they didn't look underprivileged" what does under privileged look like? The best way I can describe this school is like a military school, which is extremely disheartening because we were excited about becoming a part of the Pinecrest family. If your child has an IEP or requires learning environment that fosters their needs, DO NOT send your child here! The only reason I gave them a one star is because I couldn't give them a zero and make this review. It is our job's as parents to fight for our children's education to ensure that they are being met with all of the tools that they need to be successful. This school discriminate against anybody who is different. Please read all of the reviews before making your decision. Start with the one stars and work your way up if all of them have the same common theme it's safe to say they're the problem!

In terms of academics, we are overjoyed with how much hands on learning he is doing in his own classroom and the specialty classes. Most days he comes home with marker, paint, and glue on his uniform -- a sure sign of a great day. The curriculum challenges and interests him and he's encouraged to use his imagination. The ratio of teachers to students is wonderful. When he needs help a teacher is available to guide him. But what really makes this school special is the people. From the moment you walk in you are met with smiling faces, a friendly greeting, the feeling you and your kid belongs. You can see that the teachers and the administrators are happy to be there and that feeling extends to the kids. To see my son skipping in and out of school is magical. In addition the STEM teacher, Mrs. Anderson, and the Spanish teacher are excellent. Finally, Ms. Kimberlee is so welcoming and so supportive of all the parents each day. Instead for the outdoor track one that use for my track workouts regularly. Before I forget I must give out yelp loving for the staff especially the athletic department coaches, teacher, etc. There been times that doing my workout at the same time there having practice (on this day was girls flag football) but never kicked me out. Unlike other high school or middle schools not always a given that they will let the public use the track. At BC High School there just this laid back family atmosphere just like the fact BC small city away from the big city all the glitz and 24/7 madness. The staff even say "hi' and just let you get your workout in no problems. Not just me lot of other people that seen either running or walking around the track get there exercise in. The gate open at 6am and not sure time they close the gates. I have stayed till past 6pm still open. The track well maintained, infield nice natural grass and again well maintained (cause trust me going in circle billions times or it feels like looking at green grass is refreshing/keeps one motivated), and lanes marked well. Bathrooms not sure. Parking lot of parking either up on top or right next to the track. I know BC far away for most people. If ever need get track workout in without worrying about whether going be open or not. BC track is the best way too go!!!!
