I have visited this store a few times. I always end up…read moregetting tons of stuff and spending a small fortune! haha! The shop itself is very narrow, tightly-spaced and a little tough to navigate through. But it's still worth a look. Great selection of all kinds of toys, old and new and many different brands as well. I've managed to get some interesting deals on some must-have items. I even found an entire toy set I had when I was a kid, which are some of my favorite types of finds as they take me back to my childhood. The prices can sometimes be a bit steep, but if you're a serious collector or you're just a big kid at heart, then it's totally worth it! My favorites are the wrestling figures, there are so many to choose from and some you can't find anywhere else. Some awesome additions to the collection have been found here. However, some toys in the store are hanging on the shelf in a plastic bag, which makes it difficult to see what they are and to browse through as I have to take all of them off the rack one-by-one to get to the one I want to see. If there was an easier way to do that, it'd be great. I'm sure the other patrons don't appreciate me holding up traffic while I rifle through several dozen little baggies that are above my head, trying not to tear the plastic or knock everything off the wall while I am squeezed in the six-inch amount of floor space between the displays. I also like the Hot Wheels cars, the blind boxes, and they usually have some really cute stuff by the front door like scented candles with cool themes, plushies, and bright, colorful goodies that could lift anyone's spirit with their innocent and happy stylings. Overall, I think it's a great spot to get some really cool pieces of one's playful past or a new addition to the lifelong obsession! So whether you're a sentimental sap who needs a good reminder of simpler times, or if you have managed to maintain your imagination and enjoy some wholesome fun, then this is the place for you! (and me, since I happen to fit both descriptions.) (they could use some shopping baskets, though.)

This is a reproduction of an original, but it of course it done amazingly. It was previously Davidson store a few years back. So named for Dr. Robert Davidson an Apothecary and former Mayor of Williamsburg. I don't recall what was sold. The exterior store front windows, one on side and one in front are well appointed with merchandise. The store is located close to center of the run on Duke of Gloucester at the corner of Beaufort and DoG. Parking is one block away on Francis. I must admit the store is a lot of fun for adults too! So many fun items, games and toys every where. There is also clothing, dresses and dolls. There is a price range to meet everyone's budget which is great. With this being a touristy area expect prices are elevated, but it's no different than you would find at say Disney etc. On most occasions the staff has been spot on when you have there attention. When it's busy that can be a challenge, but it's rare. The staff is friendly and attentive and will go out of there way to assist your needs. This week when browsing I struck up a conversation with a female staff helping in the dress area. She loves working at the shop and helping customers and it showed. There are a few must stops when shopping on Duke of Gloucester and this is one of them for my children. I never say no and always enjoy it myself. Come see for yourself and don't be surprised if you walk out with a smile on your face.

They have good-quality wooden toys and games, including wooden hoops and sticks to roll them. The lady behind the counter was very pleasant and very patient as I went back and forth trying to figure out what to get for each child, as well as getting a couple of things for myself. I'm looking forward to visiting this shop again on my next trip to CW!

(I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel for a "review" to come back to this place.)…read more Sadly, the song remains the same here at Revolutions. If you come to the CW Visitors Center more than likely you're walking in the main entrance door from the parking lot and this place is what you first encounter. Overall the store (it's not really one store as it's more like two or three depending on how you want to count things but technically Revolutions is the one on the left side when you walk in) is indeed massive. Lots of stuff everywhere. On the left side it's a lot of things like stuffed animals (anyone for a stuffed walrus in a CW shirt?), wine/beer, some snacks, lots of CW branded clothing along with a ton of reproduction items and a lot of Chinese plastic junk. The right side is technically the bookstore and it's loaded down with a mountain of titles but also has a Christmas section and even sells things like bird feeders. The two overriding issues are that you can still find too many things here the same as you can find at the shops on DOG Street. While that might sour you the other kicker is of course the pricing. The pricing is very much theme park-esque in terms of how whack some of this stuff can be particularly the apparel sections. The t-shirts and sweat shirts are priced in a way that could make Bob Iger at Disney blush. Speaking prior about bird feeders. The one things CW had a bit more of last time was a clearance section on the book store side. Small as it was for whatever reason the lovely wife insisted upon picking up a double bird feeder for her mother for Christmas which at the time was seven months away. Le Sigh... While I wanted to protest a quick check of The Interwebs said that the thing usually retails for well over a hundred dollars and with the clearance pricing that day it could be ours for around fifty bucks (Oh, Boy - Spoil Me!). So we bought it. It was the first thing we had ever bought at Revolutions in probably a dozen visits. Great place to shop if you're one of those people who likes "stuff" or if you've got more money than God to piss away on BS that likely you'll never use but personally I don't see the appeal which is why we usually just cut thru the Visitors Center and then go right out the back door to hit the trail to the Historic Area.
