I drove about seven miles each way because i wasn't sure i could find another preschool that would be anywhere near as good. My son started here when he was 1.5, in Little Todds, and he was halfway between PreSchool 1 and PreSchool 2 when i finally had to admit that the gas costs were getting stupid. In every classroom, he was looked after by teachers who clearly loved children, and clearly knew how to teach and relate to the age group they handled. There are a huge variety of activities, both inside and out, at this center. There are large, age-appropriate playgrounds that are in use any time the weather allows it. When it's rainy, they stay inside and paint, color, dance, count, or whatever else the teachers can come up with. You can set up just about any part-time schedule if you need to. I know from shopping around that a lot of day cares have pretty rigid schedules, so if you need to do half-days, or some days but not others, Learning Years is probably one of your best bets. You can also pay by credit card and have the tuition automatically paid instead of futzing around with checks all the time. One random thing i really liked about Learning Years was the they would troop the younger kids down to the infant/wobblers rooms every once in a while. This helped the little ones get used to the idea of tiny babies (and taught them to whisper if you tell them "babies are sleeping", which is awfully useful). Since most 1-2 year olds don't have a younger sibling yet, this really helps them get used to the idea of babies before they might have to deal with one every day at home should their parents have another, or when visiting friends and family who have infants. So i guess the short version is that Learning Years is run by nice, helpful people who love kids. They're great. I wish i could have brought them with me when i moved.

I can see the immense growth in his independence, skills with his numbers, vocabulary, and general knowledge! This child sings songs about continents and tells me about adding numbers! What?!! And none of it feels pressured or stressful. It's organic, thoughtful, and just magic! Many ppl feel that Montessori teaching leaves a lot to the child workout boundaries but I can say that's not true. Yes, children are observed to see what they naturally gravitate towards, but they are also guided and encouraged to explore other activities in their classroom environment. I can go on and on but I truly love this place, the community of parents and absolutely amazing teachers! I'm kinda obsessed with all the natural wood through the school and classrooms too. She's patient, attentive, and takes her time with each child to make sure they're really understanding and progressing. Thanks to her, my son has learned to read and is feeling confident heading into first grade. Christine and Stephanie, the director and co-director, continue to be incredible. They're so supportive, compassionate, and genuinely care about the families they serve. They always go above and beyond to make sure your child feels safe, loved, and well cared for--and that you feel supported as a parent. They're communicative, understanding, and truly lead with heart. I will honestly be so sad once my kids outgrow the need for daycare, because Baseline has been such a constant source of stability, comfort, and trust in our lives. The staff including Christine, Stephanie and his classroom teachers listened to what our son needed. A plan was created with us so everyone knew what to do and they were flexible around working with our son and his medical needs. He started out being worried and scared during that time of going to school to eventually wanting to go and liking his class. He even made a best friend. Due to the staff being willing to teaming with us around his needs he ended up catching up and exceeding expectations. My family and I highly recommends this daycare.

They were also so kind and friendly and patient with a nervous, emotional first time mom, answering all my questions, calming my fears and sending me pictures of my baby girl while I was at work. They have been so accommodating to my schedule and the kids absolutely love their days at this school. If I could give a 6 star rating I would. There are some days that I pick them up and they are bummed to leave. The learning curriculum is top-notch as well. I trust every teacher there and I know they want the best for my kiddos. The staff were kind, dedicated, and many of them had been there for years. Now, more than a decade later, my grandchildren are attending the same school, and it's amazing to see so much has stayed the same in the best possible way. The same owners and director are still there, and I still see many familiar faces when I pick up my grandchildren from time to time. That kind of consistency speaks volumes. Having 3 children who were all enrolled when we first moved here ... they have been a game changer for the chaos that can be a working Mom. Unfortunately, due to the mass staff exodus the Pre-K program was cut with little notice and we were left with no child care for this entire summer. From Jan-May of this year we had numerous late night emails asking us to not bring our infant in for class, making it very difficult for my husband to work and for me to see scheduled patients. From my perspective, this is a salary issue. Employees at Cadence are potentially not being paid enough and are leaving for other jobs. Teacher Nancy, Chelsea, Zita and Liz, dozens of our kids miss you and will forever be grateful to you for sticking it out as long as you could. The food is another aspect that needs to be addressed immediately. I hope they are no longer serving bowls of corn (as seen in my child's photo on google review) or the ever popular "vegan meat balls" that the kids would frown at, weekly. I want to say Thank you to Teacher Mia and Vicki who made us stay as long as we did and who you should feel confident leaving your children with.
