This review is strictly for their bakery department. Horrible, horrible, horrible, did I remember to say horrible? I go in today (Friday) to pre order a cake for Tues which is five days away. The bakery manager tells me that I have to order a cake five business days in advance, IMHO opinion that's ridiculous. I tell her that she's forcing me to go to Dierbergs, smugly she says "good luck, they won't take your order this late either" I say "want to bet?" She says "I've called them to order a cake just to see and they take just as long as we do" so disappointed in her attitude I go to Dierbergs. Guess what? Their bakery manager Kristina takes my order no problem. So not only was the Schnucks bakery manager smug and condescending she lied to me about Dierbergs. Do better! read more

Anthony in meat department is amazing and always impressed at his work both on the floor or in the back! And the cashiers are always helpful with me checkout or not finding something. A smaller larger Schnucks. Not as big or as nice as the flagship in Des Peres, but larger and nicer than the one on the other end of Mid Rivers Mall Drive. Never had a problem with the service. Unfortunately you have to check the dates on everything you buy. I've caught them with expired or almost expired product on the shelves that wasn't 'reduced for quick sale'. At least they carry Cotija cheese for when you're suddenly in the mood for Elotes. read more

Had 16 items in cart. Employee standing there told me that I could not use the self-checkout lanes because I had over 10 items. There were 4 open registers and no one waiting. Instead I had to wait in a long line for regular registers since there were only 2 open. If you are going to limit who can use the self-checkout then you need to open more manned registers so customers don't have to wait 15+ minutes in line. Very poor customer service. Will avoid shopping here. read more

This store is horrible! The way they treat their customers is unbelievable! I went to the pharmacy no Problem their. CVS for The win there! I went through the check Out paid for My groceries asked for 40.00 cash back and guess what they treated me like I was a thief. How is paying for My groceries and getting cash back my fault! They counted the drawer twice. Had two Managers. Didn't know what the hell they were doing. Then had the audacity of ask me to check my acct to see if the money left it!!! A grocery store, is a grocery store, is a grocery store.... That's really about it. It could say Randall's, Kroger's, Jewel, Dominicks..whatever but they're almost all the same! Besides the insanely wide aisles that amazing me to no end considering the ones in Chicago sometimes, this grocery store has something I've never seen before. Game Stop. IN the grocery store! Conveniently giving you access both outside and indoors. Can you imagine the children in here begging their moms not just for a candy bar by the registers...but now shrieking as they're walking out of the store to the parking lot, begging for the new Wii game that everyone else has. Nightmare for Moms in St. Charles, MO. Heaven for me! Glad I don't live here or this would be dangerous! read more

Schnucks Cottleville is my favorite Schnucks. I was here on opening day and I've been back dozens of times. The story is always neat and clean. The staff at this store is very friendly. My all time favorite cookies are here. Try 'em: chocolate chip M and M cookies. Excellent. read more

I've used Schnucks for years and generally like their stores. Truly a supermarket - not just groceries (I even bought a complete patio set there a couple of years ago). Most locations I would give 4 stars, this one I have to give 3. For some reason, the packaged meats aren't up to par compared to other locations in Ballwin and other places. I go to Schnucks mainly for the Black Angus steaks, but every time I've gone there the meat on the shelf has already started to spoil or has an expiration date of today (meaning it has probably already turned brown on the side you cannot see). Also the store organization took some time to get used too (as does the store on Hwy K in O'fallon). The layout is different than other stores - sometimes vastly different. But that's small potatoes - at least this store has a "green products" section where I can get bamboo bowls and dishes, etc. Finally the annoying piece that just started recently. In the past I'd get coupons for future purchases at checkout. Now I get a coupon notifying me I'll get a coupon on my next visit. It's bad enough the coupons are always for brands I don't buy but are similar to the brands I do buy. Now I get alerts of upcoming coupons for stuff I don't buy. What a waste of paper. read more

I made a special trip here to rent a rug doctor. It is 4:35 PM in the afternoon and the customer service counter is closed. When I inquired if there someone to help I was told by the self scan checkout person customer service is closed and I need to come back later. I asked if there was a manager to help and was met with an incredulous look on the persons face and reluctance to help until I insisted. I cannot understand how the second largest grocery chain tells me they cannot provide customer service when is the first thing you come to in the door. Of course I will tell everyone I meet. I guarantee this would not have happened at Dierbergs, it was just more convenient to stop here. Questionably it was not. read more

Don't buy cheese packaged by the store in the deli department. They use old cheese that's about to go bad and package it to be sold in the case. I bought a package of four kinds of cheese. Within 4 days it was getting moldy. Never again. read more
