It's 3:44pm new years eve and this place is packed. Staff smiling, people hustling and a systematic order of getting people checked out quickly and efficiently.staff walking around wishing everyone a happy New Year. Stopping to get items on the top shelf. Other shopers helping other shoppers. Very twilight zone moment and overall Very impressed. I was there picking up those last minute items. Flowers, Food and Fireball. The parking lot was packed. The carts were almost gone and everything was being tossed into carts. The check out line was all the way down isle 15. It was a sight to behold. But believe it or not it actually was not horrible. There was a women calling out open lanes. We moved at a decent speed. I waited no more than 15 minutes. All the patrons were jovial to each other as they waited in line. Being the holiday and time of day I think helped people understand it was going to be an event. Thank you Schnucks! As a worker for the Red Cross and far away from home, I was lucky enough to be housed for weeks within walking distance of you. I was able to come in after my shift and have comforting tasty foods, ready and waiting to be brought back to my hotel room to enjoy as I'm always too tired to go to a restaurant. I was able to stock my room with good fresh fruit and hard boiled eggs for breakfast before my 6:00 am shift. Nothing is open for breakfast for me that early as I didn't have a car. And you had a great wine selection and I was able to enjoy and unwind after stressful days. Your employees were courteous and the store was clean. Well done! read more

This location is my fave Schnucks location in the area, it is also close to my home. Their convenience foods packaged to heat and eat are amazing and better than any I've seen elsewhere- think salmon and veggies in a bag you can microwave or oven heat and viola you have a healthy meal in minutes! They have an excellent meat area and deli area. The produce is top notch. I've purchased floral from here before and it easily looks good and stays nice 10-14 days. Their bakery section is not as nice as most. It's small, not as many premade cake/treat selection and rarely an employee to help. They do not offer all the same bread selections as other stores (I love the multigrain and they don't offer it at this location). The floorplan overall is easy to navigate and I like that they have a large self checkout area. read more

Stopped by this Schnucks because they have a nice amount of Plant-Based options / my favorite is the coffee creamer. They always have a fresh selection of produce, which is a score for me considering I have a Plant-Based diet ... I'm sure you can tell. I visited in the morning so it wasn't a lot of traffic in the parking lot or to checkout ... usually the checkout lanes are extremely long, but as you can tell, this trip was very light. The last few months that I have shopped here I have been so disappointed with the produce (molded) and I go to this store for someone checking me out and bagging my stuff . They have definitely improved in almost the ten years since I wrote the prior review. The meat is still not very good.

With newer and more self checkout, the lines for cashier checkout have gotten ridiculously long. When Schnucks can get produce self checkout right then maybe this will work but no one with produce wants to self checkout. I will go to Dierbergs from now on. Now at the Bridgeton Schnucks, you can no longer check out at the self checkout lane and pay cash. So if you have 1 or 2 items and want to pay cash,you cannot. Those lanes now are card only. So you must go to the regular checkout lanes and stand in a line with your 2 items and wait for all of the customers with their full carts in front of you. This is a terrible policy and I hope they get a lot of complaints over this. This is an awful way to treat their long time customers. What are they thinking? read more

Today it's one star. At 1:45 pm I went through the 20 items or less line. The female cashier was extremely rude with the handicapped person in front of me and very rude to me. She was not at all helpful to the person on the scooter in front leaving him to try to get his bags into his cart. All while giving him the evil eye! I did not call the phone number on my receipt because I didn't get one. First she told me that her cash register couldn't help me find my points account. Then she said, well try putting in your phone number. I did. It didn't work, I showed her my Schnuks ap, which she previously said her machine wld not take. She looked at my phone and asked my phone number, which I gave and then she chastised me because I had was one number off my area code. I had 313 instead of 314, so it was my fault! The nice Lady behind me kept telling me, you don't have to explain to her about my mistake. I did get my 100+ points. And like the disabled man in front of me, she put our bags on the opposite side of the checkout! Sometimes people have real problems and they are not as polite as they could be. Generally grocery store. US Bank ATM and counter inside. Self checkout. Dry ice. Liquor and wine. Deli and bakery. Salad bar. Well stocked and clean store. Reminds me of a Kroger or Publix type of place. Not as large as your local Albertsons or Safeway but a nice home vibe. Some of the lines can get lengthy at times. Most always with self checkout. But apart from that the selection is good and prices are fair. In town for two months living out of a hotel. So this was the spot to shop and pick up random items. If you are a regular bring some of your own bags or pick some of their up. Unique designs and you'll save a few cents. read more

I like this store. It has all the basics plus some extras. Never knowing what I'm going to find in grocery stores I don't frequent, this Schnucks was a good find. It's set up like most grocery stores and there was no surprises in that respect. The bakery and produce sections were extensive and well-stocked even late in the afternoon. (I guess I don't get out much because I didn't know fritters were available in that many flavors other than apple. On another day I'll have to try some off them.) Nothing looked old or smelled like it was rotting. The aisles were big, the signs identifying the goods in each aisle were easy to read and actually matched what was in that aisle. The lighting didn't keep anything in the shadows or hide anything unpleasant in the main part of the store. The more subdued lighting used in the produce section was nice, though; as I think it otherwise would have been too sterile and offputting. The parking lot, on the other hand, is not so great, as no one racing through the lot to get to the side street and avoid the traffic light, or visit one of the nearby stores, pays any attention to the pedestrians. read more

I went to Schnucks early this morning to shop for groceries and spent about $150. My normal weekly expenditure at this store is around $300. There were zero, none, checkers. I had to check myself out, bag my own groceries, etc. Talk about the lack of service! I've been shopping at this Schnucks for years, but have never seen it this bad. I bought strawberries of which at least 50% were either rotten or soft. It appears that when Schnucks bought Shop n Save, they also took over their customer service ideals. Not smart Mr. Schnucks. I will now be shopping at Dietbergs where customer service is still valued. read more

The seafood department is horrible. I called and asked for whiting fish, Tim told me that they didn't have any. I went to the store 30 minutes later abd the had a case full. When asked Tim why did he lie, he tried to clean it up by saying, "I didn't know that's the fish you want cause we call it Jack Salmon". I said that's funny cause the name on the display is 'Whiting - Jack Salmon'. I called a week later and they hung up on me in the seafood department. read more

This is the worst Schnucks I've ever been to as far as uncooperative employees . I remember a few years ago they went on strike to protect their union. And now the checkers won't even put the bags in the cart for you. I had a staring contest with one checker. I asked if she was going to put my bags in my cart. She said to me " you're closer to them than I am" Only out of extreme necessity will I go to a Schnucks. This is my go to Schnucks on the way home from work if I need to pick up a few things for dinner and the convenience is what draws me here. It's nice when you get off of highway 70 at Lindbergh , you are almost there so I don't feel like I am wasting a lot of extra time in the car. The parking lot is pretty much a nightmare but thats not really Schnucks fault, they share the lot with Home Depot and a bunch of smaller strip mall places and it seems as if the stop signs are randomly placed so just a word of warning to be careful in the parking lot. Once you are parked and inside, the store itself is clean, well stocked and the staff is very efficient. I can usually be in and out within 15 minutes and back on my way home and to me that is invaluable. Really my only grievance with this particular location is the customer service is right past the entrance, straight ahead when you enter instead of off to the side and it can get fairly congested when you are entering/leaving. The convenience for me can't be beat though and since I am always deciding last minute what to make for dinner I am sure this will continue to be a 2x a week stop for me after work. read more

This store is one of the newer Schnucks stores in the area and like most of them it is stocked fairly well. It is extremely close to my house and I find myself going here twice a week or so. I don't have to deal with the staff often however when I do they are always very nice. One of the gems I found about this Schnucks is how good the chicken wings on the salad bar are. Who would have thought, right?! But ya give them a try you will not be disappointed. DO NOT buy them refrigerated though. read more

This place is my go-to stop when I need bribes for a work meeting. Between 7:30 and 8:00 in the morning it is absolutely dead. I can park at the closest spot possible, go straight to the "so bad but oh so good" bakery section and be on my merry way in minutes. This Schnucks is nice and clean. But it's lack of options is a total disappointment. I used to live very close to the Schnucks on Dorsett and this just doesn't compare. This one is missing so many healthy option things that I could get at the other one. I just wanted to give a quick shout out to the manager at this store. I was just in to grab a few things and a main item on my list were avocados. When I got to that section of produce there were nothing but overripe, gushy black avocados on the rack. I happened to see him walk by and asked him if they might have fresh, greener ones in back. He was very nice and told me he would run and check. He was back within about 3 minutes but with no luck. He apologized and said he was very sorry that avocados are a tricky one because they ripen so quickly and they don't keep an abundance of stock on hand for that reason. They go bad too quickly. Anyway I thanked him and went on shopping in produce. About 5 minutes later he approached me with a bag that had 3 avocados in it and said, "Excuse me, I did find these among the others and they feel fairly firm still. If you'd like them I'd like to pay for them for you!" Holy cow! I was floored. I mean I know they are just avocados but he went out of his way to find them for me and was going to foot the bill. He told me to give his name at the register and tell them he was covering the cost. I did just that when I checked out. I'm really impressed that as a store manager he went above and beyond to help me and to make sure I left satisfied. His name is Jason and I say thank you Jason for your help today. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with ordering a delivery online from the very beginning of the process to the end. I have no idea what they are doing there and they definitely do not either. I ordered flowers to be sent and then had to change the address. I gave them very strict guidelines on how to deliver the flowers since my wife was not at her normal employer. They messed it up and told me my wife was not at work today and then stated several calls later that my wife does not work there. After 5 calls and dealing with a "supervisor" the problem finally got fixed four hours later. I will not be using this service ever again. read more

Merchandise is very crammed. Not enough product selection (compare to Maryland Hts, for example). But common to all Schnucks, their "fresh" cut fruit containers, is not freshly cut. It comes pre-packed from Del Monte and you throw 1/2 of the expensive fruits. mango is hard and not ripe (ever) and the rest is mainly apples for cost of $4.99 or $11.99. Shop and Save has freshly cut, on location fruits, delicious and much cheaper. I recommend to travel one extra minute to Shop and Save. Bigger, cleaner, and much fresher produce read more
