I've been sending flowers to my aunt and mother in Belleville for the last few years. I live out of state. I'm a USAA member so I use the USAA online floral ordering service, and they contract with local companies. This week I ordered a bouquet for my aunt's birthday. I was in meetings all day and missed a few calls from a 618#, and had one voice mail. It was Schnucks floral saying they tried to deliver but no one was home. I texted the number back but got no response (didnt realize it was a landline). When I finished my last meeting I called the number, and someone at Schnucks customer service told me floral was closed for the day but that they'd call me tomorrow prior to attempting delivery. Long story short, they attempted delivery again the next day, no one was home, and USAA emailed me saying delivery had failed. I was frustrated because I hadn't received a call, and called the number, and was transferred to floral, and a very nice lady introduced herself as the floral manager and explained that she had tried to call me that morning but the number hadn't worked. I wanted to be skeptical - I just wanted my aunt to get her flowers! - but she was so genuine and said she would absolutely find a way to get them to her. She gave me a direct # to reach her and told me to call her with a timeframe of when someone would be at the residence, as it was too hot to leave them outside (which is what's being done here in DC because COVID, but, whatever). I called her back to say my aunt was home for the next hour, and that manager did whatever magic she did to get them there. Some floral person drove to my aunt's house THREE times to deliver an $80 bouquet. I'm very, very impressed with the service and will contact Schnucks directly next year! read more
