Not only does he adjust me in all the right places to get my instrument back on par, but he muscle tests and uses some serious intuition to make sure that your WHOLE BODY is in alignment. For a quick example, though I have many, last week I literally couldn't walk without feeling incredible shooting pain in my low back and in my upper thigh/crotch area... every single step was torture. I thought I knew what was out, and thank god for his knowledge, because it was the complete opposite of what I expected. So he did the needed adjustments, then the full body adjustments, and like magic, I could walk with no pain immediately after the visit (and it hasn't reoccurred!) From the second he sees you, he watches how you walk, how you shift your body around, the alignment of your hips... it's incredible. He is incredibly kind, knows so much about the body, and continues to educate himself and expand his own knowledge to pass on to his patients. He's in love with what he does, and frankly, you can't ask for anything more because the time he takes with you, how attentive he is when you speak, and the care he gives makes it so apparent. Lastly, if the experience couldn't get any better...HE COMES TO YOU! Who does that? Reasonably priced, gives each visit as long as it needs, and from the comfort of your own home. He is a gem in this crazy city, encouraging wellness and making us all better for it. Thank you Dr. Mattison! And you, dear reader, need to call him ASAP!

2017 Yelp 100 challenge 5/100…read more I've been coming here for many years. But here's my story... Once upon a time, I was ignorant of the teachings, beliefs, and value of chiropractic work, as it just wasn't something we learned about in school. Instead, I learned all about drugs and their value in treating patients. But when I developed numbness in both hands, I had to see someone! My first step was the hand specialists at USC (read my review...rolling my eyes). The doctor stated I had classic carpal tunnel, and spent less than 5 minutes flat telling me I needed surgery. Um, no way! As I was talking to my other healthcare friends, I heard one talk about Dr. Verdugo. Honestly, I decided it couldn't hurt! It took me a couple months of debating before I went to see Dr. Verdugo, but he was pleasant, professional, and was willing to answer all my questions about Chiropractic. And I'm not kidding when I say I had a lot of questions! His answers put me at ease and made me understand the logic behind chiropractic work! He took his time, explained, he took some X-rays, reviewed them with me, and developed a treatment plan. Honestly, within a month, the numbness went away-and it hasn't returned. I've learned to get in tune with my body, and now I can tell when my atlas is out. When I see Dr. Verdugo, he confirms it! My girlfriend had excruciating headaches which would keep her up and she would even have to miss work from the pain! I referred her to Dr. Verdugo, and from that first day he adjusted her, it subsided! She mentions that had she not met Dr. Verdugo, she probably would have shot herself by now from all the pain! Isn't that amazing? We both owe it to Dr. Verdugo! Not all chiropractors are created equal!

Dr. Murray is amazing! I feel like Superman after each treatment…read more I injured my right Achilles tendon on the job and tried to power through for a month. The condition got worse, and I suffered compensation injuries in both legs. Things got so bad that my department placed me on medical disability. Their ortho, who put me in various boots and on strong meds that didn't work, told me that I was THISCLOSE to rupturing my Achilles. During my first week on disability, I could barely walk. Going up and down stairs was slow and painful. A chief from another department, who's a big mentor in my career, referred me to Dr. Murray. Best advice he's ever given me! The pain relief and increase in mobility was immediate after just my first visit. Fast forward 4 more visits in two weeks, and I'm powering up steep hills with no problem. Dr. Murray says I'll be running next week. He has me way ahead of schedule! I've been seen by numerous doctors for various injuries over the years, and I've never experienced improvement like this so quickly. Dr. Murray has been doing this for over 30 years. He treats the US Weightlifting Team, other national athletic organizations, and the Santa Monica Fire Department. Clearly, he has seen every type of injury. I really appreciate how efficient he is in his diagnosis and treatment. He teaches me something new about anatomy and kinesiology every time. My rehab blends performance training so that I won't repeat the mistakes that got me hurt. Dr. Murray and his staff are super friendly, and I never feel rushed out of the door. The clinic is super clean and parking is easy (a rarity in Santa Monica). I highly recommend Dr. Murray and the Institute for Spine and Sports Care. I'll be sticking with him until he retires!

Incredible Results from Dr. Dan Zucker - A Game-Changer!…read more I wish I had discovered Dr. Dan Zucker years ago. As someone who plays a lot of competitive pickleball, I'd recently been feeling stiff, sluggish, and just off my game. A friend suggested I try getting an adjustment, and that one recommendation completely changed the way I move and feel. From the moment I walked into Dr. Dan's office (he has locations in both Sherman Oaks and Porter Ranch), I knew I was in good hands. His team took the time to get to know me--not just my symptoms, but my lifestyle, athletic goals, and what I wanted to achieve physically. It didn't feel rushed or transactional. It felt personalized, thoughtful, and professional. Dr. Dan himself is the real deal. Gentle, calming, and clearly an expert in his craft. His bedside manner is excellent--he listens well, explains things clearly, and makes you feel totally comfortable. The atmosphere in his office is also top-notch. While I waited, I met a few of his other clients--let's just say, if you know sports or film, you'd recognize some of them. That alone speaks volumes about the trust high performers place in him. But here's the part that blew me away: after one 30-minute adjustment, I walked out of there feeling completely different. Lighter. Freer. More mobile. That same evening on the court, my movement was sharper, quicker, and more explosive. Even the guys I usually play with noticed and commented on the change. If you're an athlete--or honestly, anyone who wants to move better and feel better--go see Dr. Dan Zucker. His work speaks for itself. I only wish I had understood the value of chiropractic care sooner. Dr. Dan is hands-down the best in the game.
