They had a children's play area where there were slides and piggy ride and haystack, a barrel which my kids enjoyed fully. Super muddy and dusty so bring extra change of clothes. My son ripped his pants playing in the wooden area... My daughter fully enjoyed the adult sized slide. Petting zoo $17 for 2 admission - including food to feed the goats and cow? Eck. Have you ever been on a flight with Spirit Airlines where they nickel and dime you? Yes? Imagine that but at Schmitts. $5 fee to use their wagon to carry pumpkins. They also had eggplants on the vines. Which I was very interested in, but they were all shriveled... Sunflower field was pretty though. The workers here were friendly. Cold cider was good. Hot chocolate was way too sweet IMO, my kids didn't even want it. If you live on LI this place is convenient for you. Less than 20 mins drive - Since I was short on time I decided to come here for my annual pumpkin picking w my besties. However they were not thrilled . One friend had a 2 yr old and my other had a 3 yr old. They def felt it was too expensive of an admission for their kiddos. The ambiance was nice for pictures as they have pumpkins set up in the shape of hearts. Maybe when I'm rich like Rockefellar I'll be back. Till then I'll take the 1+hr drive to Mattiticuk - Harbes where they have wineries and don't nickel & dime you.

From the moment you arrive, you can tell this is not just a farm stand -- it's a Long Island institution with heart, history, and soul. The atmosphere is peaceful and inviting, especially compared to the rush of everyday life. Whether you come on a quiet weekday or a busy weekend, there's something comforting about walking through the grounds, seeing families, kids, couples, and longtime locals all enjoying the space. It feels wholesome in the best possible way. The produce and baked goods are where Kerber's truly shines. Everything feels fresh, thoughtfully sourced, and seasonal. Their fruits and vegetables are vibrant and full of flavor, and the baked goods smell incredible the moment you walk inside. The pies are legendary for a reason -- flaky crusts, generous fillings, and that homemade taste that's hard to find these days. Apple pie, crumb pie, pumpkin pie -- you really can't go wrong. Their donuts and breads are also standouts, perfect with a cup of coffee. Speaking of food, the prepared items and snacks are another highlight. Whether it's sandwiches, cider, or small treats, everything feels made with care rather than mass-produced. It's the kind of place where you end up buying more than you planned because everything looks (and tastes) so good. What makes Kerber's Farm especially special is the experience, not just the products. Kids love seeing the animals, parents appreciate the open space, and everyone seems to slow down just a little while they're there. It's a wonderful spot for a family outing, a relaxed afternoon stop, or even just a quick visit that turns into a longer stay because you don't want to leave. The staff has always been friendly and helpful in my experience. Even when it's busy, they remain patient and welcoming, which adds to the overall charm of the place. You can tell people take pride in working there. Kerber's Farm isn't trying to be flashy or overly modern -- and that's exactly why it works. It's authentic, comforting, and deeply rooted in the community. Whether you're coming for fresh produce, famous pies, or just a peaceful break from the day, Kerber's delivers every single time. If you're on Long Island and haven't been yet, this place is absolutely worth the visit. And if you have been before, you already know -- Kerber's Farm is the kind of place you keep coming back to. While I don't always expect an overly cheerful greeting, the service was very plain and lacked a smile. Even when I mentioned it was my first time, the staff seemed indifferent. I ordered an egg and cheddar cheese biscuit and a small coffee with sugar-free French vanilla and almond milk, which came to $15. I also picked up two mini pies for $14. The breakfast sandwich was okay, but for the price, I expected more cheese and a bit more flavor. However, the mini pastries were absolutely delicious! I would 100% come back just for those. The store itself was very clean.

What a wonderful little farm!…read more Luckily there's a sign and GPS puts you in the right place, otherwise it looks like private party that is completely closed off. The days it is open a wonderful farmer's market operates inside. Everyone who works here is wonderful and explains the CSA they offer, as well as what is available to those who want to shop here and there. All of their fruits and veggies looked delicious and fresh! I ended up buying some potatoes and carrots. They seemed to be a busy place for their CSA members and while I cannot afford that membership right now, it is something I will absolutely keep in mind for the future. Prices are fair, you can walk the fields, if you have the CSA you can pick your own berries. A wonderful spot if you want fresh produce and want to know exactly where it's coming from.

They are constantly answering my questions, helping to supplement and fill my home garden and they are just generally nice people. Shame on our Nassau county legislators for holding up their contract. Farming is a challenge here due to weather, blight, bugs - yet through it all Caroline and Dan have been able to provide for all of us who want better than what we are being offered in the supermarkets. They certainly don't do it for the money. If anyone is free on a Saturday go check out the tin house, tour the farm, enjoy the beauty that they have created (just in case the worst thing happens and Nassau county lets this farm go fallow).
