Aged a mere 60 days, once the taste of the grass fed milk touched my palate, it was all I could do to now buy everything in sight. Arlotta Food Studio from California sold oils & vinegars that tasted superior to many I have purchased prior. Costing $25. & $20 each the phrase "you get what you pay for" certainly comes into play. Mums and other seasonal flowers are well priced, the pickles didn't really do for me however I found the Italian breads to be the diamond in the rough of all the vendors. There are lots of ready-to-eat sides and meals as well, though you can shop for most anything to make great and tasty homemade dishes. The deli line can be long, however the staff is always courteous and prompt. The aisles are compact but well-organized and nicely-presented and the store is notably always very clean. Produce is especially good compared to most other grocery stores in the area. Some of my favorite pick-ups include the sliced fruit tray which consists of pineapple, cantaloupe, honeydew and watermelon, the mozzarella and grilled eggplant, garnished with basil and complete with an olive oil and balsamic dressing on the side, and the potato salad which is nice and chunky and not overly mayonnaise-y tasting. The meat section has a good diversity of burger types, chicken, steak and other meats and can be purchased at the counter or meat display. Additionally, I often find a well-priced special on cleaned shrimp at the seafood counter and make sure I get some fresh broccoli and garlic for a great stir-fry or pasta dish. The cheese selection is always plentiful as well, including many different types of Italian and other European cheeses. And I cannot forget to mention the olive bar, bakery section which includes some gluten/free items prepackaged in the refrigerated section as well as an aisle for gluten-free cookies, crackers and frozen gluten-free pastas (wild mushroom ravioli is my favorite pick of the frozen foods). Additionally, the general selection of marinades and other curated culinary accoutrements is impressive. I am usually there once or twice a week and it's a pleasant and easy shopping experience every time!

I'm not the only person who this happened to and when I went to return the boards I was hoping to see the manager but they only had young people working there and they didn't deserve my anger. This place has become a joke of a once proud establishment, they now even outsource there bread because they can't meet the demand. And I have been going here for well over 10 years, and not once has something like this happened until very recently. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy shopping at North Shore Farms and appreciate how the store has a variety of products I can't find anywhere else. The store is also always well-stocked and clean, and it's easy to find things. The bakery and hot food sections are also stellar; though the variety of hot food has decreased somewhat over the years they do still updated with new offerings so there is something for everyone. However, I am baffled and disappointed by the fact that this location has put out and sold customers, such as myself, expired items in the refrigerated section in the middle of the store. Just yesterday, June 13th, I bought a ricotta cheese which was in this section and had a "sell before" date of July 8th; upon taking it home it tasted spoiled and we immediately had to discard it. I'm not sure when the item was packed, but I have a gut feeling that the sell by date listed on the box was inaccurate. The other two times I experienced this were also with cheese, as well as with cold cuts. I highly recommend that this location look into ways in which they can prevent spoilage of items from the refrigerated section and ensure that their customers are getting food that is fresh and well-maintained. UPDATE (6/15/2026): Make that *four* times. I bought fresh fish from the seafood counter and was about to cook it last night however, when I unwrapped it from the parchment paper that it had been stored in, I was hit with a significantly rancid smell and I think I was sold fish that was not fresh either. I'm not sure what's wrong, maybe the temperature of the refrigerators in the store aren't high enough, but I really hope that it can be corrected soon because otherwise this location is risking losing a customer in me. Which is a shame because this has been a mainstay store that I have been going to for years and I don't want to risk my health being in danger due to buying spoiled food that is being marketed as "fresh."

They make all kinds of "designer breads and rolls" including their bacon and egg baked into a flat bread. Pizzas, meat breads and any other items. If you can think about it, it's probably there. They have custom meat cutting as well as a very well stocked meat isle. Their seafood department is top notch. They have everything and you can always count on the fact that it's fresh. They also have a vast amount of prepared dishes that just need to be cooked or heated up. The deli area is also amazing.... They have their own NSF meats as well as Boar's Head and other specialty brands. The 'fresh soup' area sits right by the deli counter. Plenty of fresh vegetables and cheeses. The dairy selection is also quite extensive. They have a fantastic sushi section. It would not be fair to write about NSF and not mention their amazing team here. Everyone here is friendly and helpful. There are just not enough good things to say about NSF. All their stores follow the same model so you always know what to expect... EXCELLENCE! A friend recommended it and despite her high praise, even she undersold it. You must get the hummus (I opted for the pine nut) and Turkish eggplant dip (a small container of each will run you $9-10 so it is not cheap but it is worth it). Each dip has the perfect thickness (not to watery or too thick) and was delicious. I heard good things about the bourekas and they had a new brisket boureka out so I bought a pack (10 or so in the package for $22, sold frozen). You heat them in the oven or toaster oven at 350 degrees for 20min. They were absolutely delicious, perfect texture (crunchy outside, soft inside) and the meat inside had so much flavor. For dessert we bought the baklava and pistachio mamoul. Everyone raved about the baklava and I really liked the pistacho mamoul as they were not too sweet (don't let the powdered sugar on the outside fool you). A very kind lady helped me find everything (though if you spend 5min walking around the store which is not that big, you can find everything yourself). Again, everything we bought was absolutely delicious and while it is not inexpensive, you get your money's worth. Absolutely worth checking out, I would be a regular here.

I will surely come back and shop here for my family gatherings. The one small criticism I have: for many many years, growing up in Forest Hills, Queens, where we patronized an original great falafel place, I always came to order 2 HALF falafel, rather than a whole. It's much easier to eat it when cut (simple sandwich principle). This place charged me 2 x $8 for the halves, when a whole falafel is just $13. That's a big difference for what is essentially the same thing. Just saying.
