Awesome service and experience. Highly recommend! The staff was very helpful and explain the different options. Honest business

I normally perform most maintenance on my 997.1 myself, but a recent restoration of our home has resulted with my tools being in storage. I heard from locals, as well as PCA members that Schneider Autohaus is a good shop, so I decided to give them a try for an oil change. Not only did they do the oil change, but performed a multi-point inspection, topped all fluids, ran code check, set tire pressure, and even washed the car! They did this for a fair price and with a great "can do" attitude. It's also cool that visiting here is like going to a mini Porsche/BMW museum! read more

Schneider Autohaus - Auto Repair Near Me - Santa Barbara, California

I'm always hesitant to try new mechanics after taking my car to a shop in my hometown for so many years, but I've been to Schneider Autohaus twice now and both times were great experiences. The shop staff is very knowledgeable and thorough in their inspections. The quality of work is amazing and quick turnaround times while making sure everything is addressed. They provide a final report of the work completed and things to keep an eye on, which is useful for future service. This most recent visit, I needed an oil change and my window fixed after another mechanic installed and adjusted the regulator incorrectly. They were able to adjust the window and reduce the wind noise substantially. Very impressed with their work and professionalism and I will continue to take my 20+ year old Mini Cooper S here! read more

The Hincks are most honorable and their expertise is second to none in the area. I would trust them with any of my vehicles.

Very happy with the service a friend recommended Henry and paula at Schneider auto house. I was in an out in less than a day and it was fair a fair price I was a bit shocked after having dealt with the local Porsche dealer service department. read more

The knowledge and professionalism of Henry, Chris and their team is second to none. I gladly drive 95 miles from Shell Beach to Santa Barbara to have them take care of any service or repairs of my 1994 Porsche. read more

Fantastic service. Quick, professional and fairly priced. I wish they could take care of more in my life than just the 911...but if I had to pick 1 possession (to have be exceptionally well cared for)....I guess I would pick my 911! read more

Could have saved lots of money if only we had listened to Jim, the owner! He said he would flush the ATF, put on a new gasket and filter. But .....he advised us to save our money! Since we had been advised by some Rialta gurus that this Hail Mary Pass could save us rebuilding the VW Rialta engine, took a gamble and paid him to do the work. Alas, Jim was correct! So be advised, he does know what he is talking about and he will try to save you money. He has a good crew who like him, really wanted to help. Thanks, Matt and Steve. read more

Expensive repair was done for a few hundred $$ less than estimate. Explained it well enough for me, non-literate at Auto lingo, to understand. At same time, I brought in the list of dealer's recommended repairs from its last service and were told one of them was worth doing, the others were fine as-is for at least several months as the wear was not concerning. Always appreciate honesty in the auto repair world which seems to be the recurring theme amongst customer reviews at Schneiders! This will be my place to go as my Audi enters its high mileage years. read more

What an incredibly nice and honest repair shop! My daughter was driving through town with an emergent need and the folks at Schneider Autohaus not only took care of the vehicle expeditiously but treated her like family! So thankful for the folks at Schneider Autohaus! read more

Schneider was recommended to me as the best Porsche mechanic in Santa Barbara when I purchased a gently used older Porsche Boxster S. The did a great job when I recently needed service. I highly recommend Schneider for all Porsche service. read more

Always happy doing business with these guys! Customer service is top notch. Friendly, good communication, and they actually work to accommodate your schedule. They went the extra mile this time to clip my bumper back in on one side where it had detached slightly. They always do a thorough job, even for routine service. Dealing with a mechanic can be such a hassle, so it's nice to feel taken care of for a change. read more

They are wonderful! They explained everything to me in a way that I could understand (bc I am clueless when it comes to cars!) They were more than fair in pricing, and really cared about my safety and making sure my vehicle was up to par. read more

I'm a repeat customer. They offer friendly and thorough service at reasonable prices. They welcome questions and are good at explaining the repairs needed to someone like myself who is not necessarily car savvy. I own a 20 year old car that in their hands is safe and reliable. The crew at Schneider's are honest, quick and I quite believe a VERY fair price for their competency. I have been bringing an engine swapped frankencar to them, and they have fixed every issue I have thrown at them. The crew are pleasant to talk to, explain the issues well, and when available, offer several options. Last, as a few of them are competent drivers on track, they offer an EXCELLENT alignment and chassis balance service, which helped me drive the car to it's potential. read more

Took my 2005 Audi A4 3.0 here after looking for a trustworthy mechanic and was not disappointed. Brent and Chris are very knowledgeable and got the job done quickly and carefully. I was a bit worried about the hourly rate, but they are very fair and honest with their billing and even fixed a coolent temp sensor while they were getting to my O2 sensor with barely any extra cost. Quality work, fair pricing and knowledgeable and friendly staff. I will definitely be returning. read more

Awesome Folks! They serviced my AUDI A3 and MINI COOPER S and did an amazing job. They know these cars well. You know you are in good hands, All you have to do is look around at the beautiful Porshe cars being worked on. Those owners wouldn't leave their treasured cars just anywhere!... Drop off was easy and convenient! Will definitely be back! read more

Schneider Autohaus went above and beyond to fix my daughter's Mini. They are excellent - extremely knowledgeable, efficient, honest, fair, and thorough! I highly recommend them and we will be back! read more

The Schneider team is a combination of experience, empathy, curiosity, and quality. I went through a catastrophic failure on my Porsche all due to the dreaded oil/air separator. They worked with a third party engine builder and solved difficult unique issues. Everything from a unique software situation to gas that somehow was not "good" anymore which the Schneider team sent out out for analysis. They worked with my budget to the best that they could. They made sure that the car was running properly and most importantly, they made me feel like I had a place to go for any future issue. They understood that I was shaken a bit by the costly failure and reassured me that they have me covered in the future. They are a community first resource and treat you with respect and understanding. Honestly, they even asked me about a small scratch that was not there before and immediately took ownership and is getting it fixed. Those moments set Schneider's apart from other mechanic experiences. As long as I own a vehicle that they service, I will be going to Schneider's. Thank you Paula, Henry, and team. read more

I was really blown away with the level of customer service. This was a new car to me and I wanted to get a good baseline from a service standpoint. They went through the car front to back and told me what it needed now, what we might want to consider in the future and serviced everything I needed. Great experience and I will be back! read more

A great team that always does a great job. If your auto is German, you won't find a better shop. Dealing with a local family business gives you the advantage of a trustworthy partner. I have had my Mini serviced at Schneider for years. They are always helpful and professional. I have not had to have any major repairs done so far, perhaps because they keep the car in such good condition. I've never had the impression that they were trying to sell me something I didn't need. Great customer service. read more

Hands down best place to take your Porsche in the Tri-County.. friendly and very knowledgeable.

Needed a place that knows how to properly align my bimmer. Junior at Santa Barbara Tire recommended them because he was booked up with a fleet of taxis. So they dropped it off at Schneider's and I wasn't disappointed. Car drives perfect now and they also told me a few things that need repairs. This is after I tried taking it to BIG BrAND TIRES in Goleta who charged me for an alignment though the car still pulled to the left. They tried to tell me my frame was bent even though my car has never been hit. So if you got a German car, stay away from the $50 alignments, take it to either Schneider's or Santa Barber Tire & Services and get it done right. read more

I do not own my Porsche anymore, but during the five years that I owned it this business was very good to me and very honest. They kept my car running well even though I could not afford to keep up on all the maintenance that would have been ideal. I highly recommend them. read more

I came here to get a second opinion for suspensions on my 996TT and also got an oil service. From the first drive in I feel confident about the shop. They have classic Porsches to the latest in the garage being worked on. Chris is superb to deal with from start to finish. No up selling whatsoever where other places you can guaranteed that you will be pressured. He answered all my concerns and gave me options. Price is great as well. Will definitely take my Porsche here again. Thank you Chris. Friendly staffs as well. read more

I dropped my Audi off at Schneider Autohaus after I noticed clutch problems. It turned out the whole clutch system/flywheel had to be replaced. I had them perform the repair and I must say, it was a pleasure working with Paula and her team. Even after performing my due diligence and calling around to other Audi mechanics in SB, their price was more than fair. The mechanic visually showed me why things needed to be replaced and after having the car for almost a week, it runs great. Going to be keeping this car longer than I expected but VERY happy with my experience. Highly recommend. read more
