The ambiance here is also quite incredible. Welcoming and warm.
My mother uses a walker , so I was holding the door as she entered and since there is a step down at the entrance, half the staff and a few customers all came running to help her down the step. Awesome.
Aside from the delicious baked goods and the absolutely fantastic gelato, they also offer hearty meals. A lot of Austrian and German specialties. I enjoyed a big portion of Currywurst mit Pommes. Perfectly executed. One of the better ones I have eaten in my lifetime.
Mom opted for potato cakes with apple sauce. Judging from the speed she devoured those, they must have been really good also... So good she refused to share even one bite. Grrr.
Of course we each had a slice of their cakes. Both were delicious and we wished we could eat more, but alas we couldn't eat another bite.
So if you are waiting for your cruise ship as we were, or if you are staying a bit longer, this is the place I would recommend.
