Herabsetzung statt Gastfreundschaft - meine Erfahrung am 12. August…read more Am Dienstag, den 12. Disrespect Instead of Hospitality - My Experience on August 12 On Tuesday, August 12, I went to this restaurant together with my sister and her brother-in-law. When we arrived, I politely asked the waiter if we could sit at a particular table. To my surprise, he responded very harshly and said in an unfriendly tone: "No, you cannot." At first, I was confused and thought he might be joking. But when my sister followed up and asked if the table was reserved, he repeated, in no uncertain terms, that we were not allowed to sit there. I do not want to accuse anyone lightly, but the way he spoke to us felt condescending and unnecessarily hurtful. The table had caught my eye because it was in the shade - something very important to me, as I cannot stay in the sun for long due to my skin. There were still two empty beer glasses on the table, and if that had been the reason, he could have simply explained politely that he needed some time to clear it. Instead, we were dismissed in a rude manner. Since moving to Dresden in January, I have thankfully not experienced any racist or discriminatory behavior. But on that day, I felt deeply disrespected. My sister's husband eventually tried to calm the situation and said, in perfect German, that the waiter should not take his bad mood out on guests. Still, the waiter continued to get upset about the fact that we wanted to sit at that table. In the end, we were so shocked that we left the restaurant and went to another place just one street away - where we were greeted with kindness and courtesy. To this day, I am still stunned that experiences like this can happen in the year 2025.

As I visited the restaurant within the team building when about 25 people were present, I can only…read moredescribe my experience when the service had to face a group of people. And it might be really different when you visit the restaurant in a couple or alone. To be completely honest, this exam was failed completely by the service. Let me summarize it in several points: 1) The knowledge of English was not good at all for the most of the waiters (who were young!). Okay, we were in Germany, so I can close my eyes in this point 2) The waiter usually asked up to 4 people about drinks and then disappeared. So I could order my drink after half an hour. 3) I would expect when it is company event the restaurant would like to make some money.. but it seemed they do not want to at all. When we finished a bottle of wine they did not noticed and even did not asked, when we wanted to order a new one we had to wait for a long time again. That is why their income was not so high how it could be.. It was the same with the meal. Nobody offered us a coffee or desert after meal. 4) After meal the dirty plates were left on our tables for at least 30 minutes. 5) The restaurant was quite full but there was only one waiter 6) The service was not very nice, we had an impression we bother As the German and Austrian kitchen is different from ours, it does not make sense to rate the meal combinations. The meal was good but not special. If you would go there I would recommend you steaks, to the other parts of the menu you can give it a miss.
