Wow! I'm one of those people who always thought, "What can a chiropractor really do for me?" Well, I sure found out! Recently I really threw out my back. I could hardly stand, sitting was painful and lying in bed was almost excruciating. The Husband suggested I see Mark at Schillinger Chiropractic. He has been seeing Mark for several years, sometimes if something flares up but usually for maintaining good physical health. So I bit the bullet and made an appointment with Mark. Because I was in acute pain he worked me into his schedule. Am I glad he did! After my second appointment I was feeling better, after my fourth I was virtually pain free! I recommend you take a chance if you are feeling reluctant about chiropractors. He opened my eyes to the benefits of this care. I plan to continue to see Mark on a maintenance schedule to keep things in pain free working order. Not only is he a gifted doctor, he's a nice guy too. read more

Dr. Schillinger is the ONLY provider who has actually helped me with my bulging disc. I have tried physical therapy more than once, and didn't want to do a cortisone injection because I wanted a permanent solution - not something that was a maybe. I complained to my primary doctor, who after 3 YEARS agreed to get me imaging. I typically had a hard time bending in any direction after walking for about 10min. I was in so much pain daily and my range of motion, and regular movement was shot. I worked with Dr. Schillinger for 8 weeks, 2x per week, consistently, and the pain is no longer. I only have some tightness at times, but I was operating at a 9-10 on the pain scale, and now am at a 0 daily. No pain like before. He truly cares about his patients and their well being, is honest, realistic, fair (even with pricing for the area we live in), and goes the extra mile for the people in his care. I couldn't recommend him and his practice more! Thank you Dr. Mark. read more

Dr. Schillinger provides a peaceful and healing environment. He works like a partner in health and wellness - listening and collaborating on the best plan of action for you. While I've only had the good fortune of leveraging his chiropractic services to date, I know he provides life coaching as well. That passion really shows up in our side-conversations as he gently adjusts my back and neck. I walk out each time feeling better on many levels. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Schillinger for years now. I originally came to see him for knee pain. Turns out I pulled my lower back which was causing enormous amounts of pain throughout my knee. With adjustments and muscle stimulation a few times a week, my knee pain went away. Now I see Dr. Schillinger every couple months for maintenance. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Schillinger for any of your physical needs. read more

Dr schillinger is a great and effective chiro. I have been to several in the last few years and I would say he is the best of them. I also.really like his practice management with the girls in the front. I had to reschedule many times last min and it was never an issue. Also they are very pleasant to.talk to. I appreciate dr schillinger being in my network of my insurance and taking insurance , which is not all that common among chiros in marin. read more

This is a self centered, know it all, pontificating doctor that centers all he does on himself. Stay quiet because he does all the talking, you will soon realize everything you say is refutable and wrong. From the beginning he inspires you by telling you how professional, healthy and charitable he is. He talks about his great experience and how fit and smart he is. His consultation is a revolving door of patients that come in and out from two little rooms every 5 minutes. Your case is already diagnosed even before you see him and you're informed in advance with a preprinted generic pamphlet that in order for you to get well you need to see him at least 3 times a week for a month and several more times for a year. Then the show begins, you listen, you pay attention and he continues to talk; spine models, literature and condescending lectures on why you're there but not to worry because he'll take care of it all. On the side he sells, nutrition, stress, meditative and relaxation methods he has created just for you. Then you're asked to go to the little room and in less than 5 minutes of brisk manipulation you're out in the front desk asked to book solid consultations, classes and lectures. Do yourself a favor, stay clear from this egocentric individual . Scam!!! read more

I developed a serious back problem and could not walk. The medical recommendation was surgery. I wanted to try something less intrusive, though the pain and limitations on functioning were severe. A friend had had a good experience with Dr. Schillinger, and recommended him. Previously I had been rather doubtful about chiropractic work. Boy, was I wrong. I am walking now, without pain or discomfort, getting stronger and feeling tremendously better. Dr. Schillinger is outstanding. He's thoughtful, informed, open and pays attention. I recommend him highly and without reservation. read more

Dr. Mark is the only chiropractor I trust 100% with my back. He is excellent at his work, and truly cares about each individual he sees. Every time I have seen him over the years I walk away from his office not only feeling physically better, but spiritually better. He takes the time to ask important questions, and listens with empathy. I now live in Southern California, and still choose Dr.Mark as my chiropractor of choice! read more

I have been seeing Dr Schillinger for approximately five or so years and couldn't be happier with the care and attention I have been receiving. In my life he is the 7th or so chiropractor I have seen and by far the best. No hard up-sell (if you been to other chiropractors you know what I'm talking about) just focused attention on making you feel better. I highly recommend you check him out. read more

I am 54...I felt 154 when I began seeing the doctor a year or so ago. I only see him when I feel out of sorts which is not often anymore. With the exercises he told me to do I maintain a pretty flexible spine. So much for those who said he just wants you to come in constantly. I now feel 53, lol... read more

I just moved to the area and was in desperate need of a new chiropractor. I am so lucky to have found Dr Schillinger! He is a wonderful chiropractor. I had so much neck pain I was taking ibuprofen like candy, but after 2-3 visits he had me feeling good again. A lot of chiropractors have difficulty adjusting my neck, but he almost always gets it on the first try. It's clear he has been doing this a long time and is very skilled. He is also very focused on stress reduction techniques and gives lots of useful tips and pointers to treat the whole body. Also worth noting, the Katie at the front desk is very friendly and helpful. They are flexible with scheduling and (shocking) they actually take insurance. In my experience, finding doctors that are affordable and take insurance in Marin is almost impossible. It's a family friendly practice so if you need to lug the kids along with you they have stuff to play with and feel very welcome. read more

Dr. Schillinger is the best!! I originally started seeing him about a year ago. I'm an ex-competitive gymnast, a current hairstylist, and I've had a few car accidents in my past. Needless to say I have some issues with my spine. I'm a chronic migraine sufferer and decided to try out the chiropractic route in searching for some relief. Dr. Schillinger set me up with a plan to get me heading in the right direction. I had to go pretty frequently at first but we slowly weened down to once every few months. My headaches are at least 75% better which is amazing because I've had headaches since I was a child. He's a caring honest person and I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to feel better. Thank you Dr. Schillinger!! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Schillinger since fall 2008. When I first walked into his office, I could not stand upright. I suffered from a combination of a back injury from childhood, and muscle soreness and stiffness. I also had long-term muscle spasms, even though I didn't know it at the time. I had never seen a chiropractor before, and didn't know what to expect. Dr. Schillinger's initial assessment was thorough, gentle, and he imparted a sense of confidence that I would not have to live in pain forever. Through a combination of chiropractic adjustment, massage, muscle stimulation, and voluntary lifestyle changes, I improved steadily. Dr. Schillinger was with me every step of the way, always ready to help me learn more about how I could be a partner in healing myself. Five years later exactly, I still get adjusted regularly, and no one would ever know that once upon a time I had to crawl out of bed and pull myself up to my feet. Unlike more clinical chiropractors, Dr. Schillinger has a very holistic view of the world. He embraces many different types of healing practices, and his office has a calm, homey feeling. Beyond adjustment, he can help with nutrition, yoga/stretching, strength training, and meditation. He is always available by cell phone for emergencies. If you are looking for a chiropractor, please give him a call and give him a try! read more

I've been seeing Dr. Schillinger for many years. His technique and knowledge only improves with time . There is obvious integrity in the work he does. I was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago and he was the only chiropractor that I trusted when I was in such delicate condition because he is compassionate, gentle, and truly a healer. read more

I had a really great experience going to Schillinger Chiropratic. I started seeing Dr. Mark after pulling my back out and being house ridden for 2 months. Dr. Mark showed tremendous care in not only getting me feeling better, but maintaining a pain free back for 2 years now. He taught me about stretching and daily practices that will serve me for the rest of my life. If I was ever uncomfortable with something (I don't like my neck adjusted), he never questioned me and always trusted me to know my body. I'm sad that I've now moved and won't be able to continue seeing him, however I highly recommend his practice on a regular basis. Great helpful and flexible staff as well. read more

We are blessed in this area with many good chiropractors and I have seen a number of them over the years. Now, finally, I can say this one, Mark Shillinger, is the (only) one for me. Dr. Schillinger's skill, knowledge and experience is exemplified throughout the high quality practice he has created and leads. His passion for health is partnered by a truly open and compassion heart. As I watch, listen and feel my body responding so positively to his care and treatment I can only feel gratitude to have found this practice. And his staff? You will feel welcomed and cared for by every one of them. I had a time conflict for a scheduled treatment and massage that, much to my disappointment, was going to have to be cancelled. Katy just moved gently and graciously through it and, much to my happy surprise, let me know another patient was going to trade times with me! That is putting the patient first! The massage staff? Extraordinary! They are gifted and intuitive healers. The therapeutic massage in combination with Dr. Shillinger's treatment is the most powerful and fluid chiropractic experience I've ever had. I have been a client of Dr. Schillinger's for years. He exemplifies holistic medicine, and he has the technical skills to relieve the back pain I've had off and on since I hurt my back at 13. Besides providing excellent adjustments, Dr Schillinger demonstrates self-care exercises and provides tips on relieving and then preventing painful flare-ups. He also has a positive and low-key demeanor so I leave feeling less frenzied than when I arrived, even in the middle of a busy workday. Give him a try and you will be back. read more

I just finished a 12 hour course with Dr Mark Shillinger. What great seminar. I didn't know what to expect. I had had a very stressful morning and the first thing we practiced was being in the moment and breathing. Obviously , I wasn't breathing because I was so tense. This technique quickly snapped me out of my funk :) I was full of energy the whole seminar...and 12 hours is long. He kept my attention, I felt energy throughout and learned so many principles and techniques I can readily apply. Thank you Mark and God Bless! Faith read more

In 1999 Dr. Schillinger spared me a dreadful surgery to repair a herniated disc in my neck. He's also provided me with valuable insights and advice on a number of issues over 13 years including my health, spirituality, home, and professional life. I'm grateful to have him as a doctor and as a friend. The office staff is very professional, welcoming and friendly. I really like visiting the office...a warm and inviting place.... it's a great place to stop thinking and breathe. read more

From day one I found his excessive and gratuitous discussion of his "charitable work" off putting and a little odd, frankly. I was there to make my back feel better and not to listen to the self-aggrandizing monologue. The deal-killer was when he became dismissive and condescending about another doc's diagnosis of a medical condition from which I was suffering. When I told him why I was leaving, he did a furious back-pedal on the whole thing. My surmise was he did not want to lose referrals from my PCP. read more

I am simply amazed by how much better I feel after only 2 months of treatment from Dr. Schillinger. My neck pain from a car accident and cervical spine surgery 25 years ago had never left me and was getting increasingly worse, along with debilitating headaches. After years of physical therapy that never gave me the relief I needed, I thought I was destined to be in that horrible pain for the rest of my life. Dr. Schillinger has proven otherwise. It has now been 3 weeks since I've had any headache, I have had many days with no neck pain, and my range of motion is already substantially improved. It seems like a miracle! Dr. Schillinger has taught me the importance of combining relaxation, meditation and stretching with his chiropractic treatments, and he is such a good teacher in all of these areas. He really cares about optimum care of his patients. And his staff, especially Jasmine, is so nice to work with. read more

As a bodyworker my standard for health care providers is that they can respond to my needs in a comprehensive way. Mark embodies the care in health care. I feel heard and responded to when he treats me. I get to request treatment that feels right for me. I never feel pushed to be adjusted, he finds lots of ways to treat me when adjustment doesn't feel safe. This is important as many people avoid chiropractic because they think it's just cracking. When my low back froze he got me moving again in one treatment, with no cracking, now I refer all my clients with major low back issues to him. He also taught me a whole series of strengthening exercises using a therasizer band that has my neck feeling stronger and healthier than it has since I was a kid. I have taken his Yoga philosophy class too which is just flat out fun! The joy he embodies is contagious. I highly recommend that class for anyone who is serious about taking Yoga beyond the physical. read more

I have been a patient (and I hope friend) of Mark Scillinger's for over 25 years. He is thoughtful and professional and I always leave his office feeling better. His guidance has served me well over the years whether is has been to do daily stretching exercises, change chairs at work, or to simply relax and accept what I can not change. He is a wonderful gentle chiropractor and I am not sure what I would do if I did not have him to help me stay healthy and pain free. I highly recommend him. read more
