Prob the best company I ever dealt with as far as fast and great customer service! Had small issue with my order and I did a return. Once I told them the issue they didn't wait like most companies do for the item to be sent back, they reshipped me my order and gave gift card for customer satisfaction. I like this store. I also like the fact that they cary new and used guns. The prices are a little high, but when it comes to buying guns, prices are always negotiable. The ferris wheel was a little weird, but hay whatever. I never had a problem getting help to buy things, unlike most people in there, I actually bought stuff, I can find whatever I want. Gotta say I love this place. It is huge and has everything. A great selection of anything you could want but notably the gun and clothing selection is really great. The Ferris wheel is great for kids and a fun addition. The games around are fun too. There is so much to do and see here and it really is a great shop with decent prices. Scheel's is great. Like a cross between Bass Pro and a sporting goods store. They have a great gun room too that carries all major brands. Also have no fear if you are a sports fan as Scheel's is stocked with fan gear. My only qualm is that they are a bit expensive. read more

Online experience not so good. Foolish me. Xmas on Thursday, ordering a rush-last-minute gift Monday morning. How about a gift card! Not challenging! Two day shipping, hmmm. $22, to get it by Xmas eve? Sure, spend the money. No, it didn't get there on Wednesday! Nor thursday (no surprise) , nor friday. Not until the next Tuesday! What the Freight? Sure, you say, it was the shipper. Partially, no doubt, but 24-48 hours to process a gift card (per customer service)? Ha, not good at all. It's not like they have to send someone to the warehouse to find it. Duh. I doubt I ever would have shopped here again, regardless of this experience, But future gift-card shoppers, you have to think WAY WAY ahead with these folks. And certainly this doesn't reflect on the Fargo location. But Yelp has limited locations upon which to rip. read more

Scheels must have a policy for employees to seek out people and ask how you're doing at all times. My 20 min visit netted me about 30 inquiries from employees as to "how am I doing?" Etc. No exaggeration. Hard to just relax and shop that way, so I just left. read more

First time customer and I could not be happier with the level of customer service I received. I purchased a Fishing sonar at a closeout price and after installing it in my boat found it was defective. The manufacture offered to send me a replacement part they thought might fix it but the part was on back order and might take 6 weeks to arrive. I gave Scheels a call and was assisted by Baily in Customer service. She offered to send an exchange sonar complete and after explaining That the defective sonar was already hardwired and installed in my boat she said they would ship the exchange and I could make the return after I had it working. I got the original and the exchange shipments quickly and after changing out the cradle and display all problems were corrected. I doubt many retail stores will offer this kind of stand up service. Baily in customer service was so nice to work with. I will be looking to Scheels for future purchases and look forward to visiting a store in person in the future. read more

One of the friendliest stores in North Dakota! Huge selection of outdoor gear, shoes and fashionable clothing for men and women. My son loves playing the games upstairs, looking at the beautiful aquarium, playing in the indoor two level children's playplace, riding the Ferris Wheel and eating in the cafe. The prices may be high, but the return policy is amazing. I returned a pair of Danskos that I had worn for several months when the sole began to separate. My kids love the shooting gallery and other interactive activities at Scheels. I usually get good customer service from friendly, knowledgeable staff. Make sure to do price checks though as the same pair of shoes was $10 more at the Scheel's in Moorhead. vs. Fargo. When I questioned this, the Moorhead. store matched Fargo's price. read more

Mostly staffed with incompetent kids. Numerous times I've looked at bikes there and never have I dealt with somebody who knows WTF they're talking about. Not once. Looked at a used mountain bike that seemed like a decent deal. Asked how old it was. The answer I got: "There's no way to tell." Seriously? I looked it up and found out the bike was 12 years old and they wanted twice it's value, even if it were in better shape. Test rode another brand new, $1000 bike. They made sure to tell me I had to wear a helmet to test ride it, but didn't make sure the brakes worked. This was after it went through their "shop" before they let me ride it outside. My friend bought a brand new bike and had them install fenders on it. They managed to strip all the threads on the fender mounts. I could go on, but I think you get the idea. This place sucks. There are tons of people on staff that are trained to smile and greet you but none of them are trained to know anything about what they sell. The vast majority of them are stupid college kids who don't care and won't be working there for long enough to care anyway. They do have a lot of guns. Their prices suck though. After dealing with this oversized, overpriced bloated dump a few too many times, I will never be going back. Everything they have can be purchased somewhere else for cheaper and probably from people who can answer your questions. read more

The store and its appearance is top notch. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. Their selection is very large and abundant. There is a Ferris wheel in the middle of the store to add to your experience. My only complaint is their products are ridiculously priced!! Their sales aren't sales, online prices are by far cheaper, and their merchandise is flat out higher across the board. This is the age of amazon and the internet, I can price check items on my phone. It's no wonder stores are falling like dominoes with unrealistic prices. One more thing, I'm from Moorhead, where is the Moorhead apparel? BEWARE. Worst Customer Service Ever. Ordering online....call customer service because no confirmation the order was received. No record of the order inhouse but the charge somehow made it to my credit card. After numerous calls to customer service, the order was duplicated by customer service because there were "issues" with the online ordering. I was charged twice to my credit card and paid twice, all the while the "customer unservice reps" tell me I am wrong, it was not processed twice. Obviously I don't know how banks work, but they do. I once again confirmed with my bank, yes they were paid twice. This has got to be the biggest rinky dink operation. I have no idea if my gift recipient will get one or two gift cards, but it will be the last time I buy from this company. read more

Have shopped at Scheels for many years - yes, they are overpriced (as are most sporting good stores in my experience) but they have a great selection, and that may just be the price you pay for that big of a selection. Don't buy fishing equipment on-line from Scheels. Buy at Amazon, Basspro, Cabelas, anywhere but Scheels. Example, bought two lures totaling $8.00, Scheels only allows UPS 'shipping' (if you do not have P.O. or APO box) came to more than an additional $12.00. I live in the U.S. and Scheels does not allow USPS mailing for lures that weigh a total of half an ounce. When advised and questioned (via email) about this shipping gouge; there was no reply ... Visited this store because I needed to find new work out clothes. Everyone on the floor was very helpful. When I was ready to try on the clothes, the lady in the fitting room took my name down on a white board. I had to ask the lady a few times to get me another size because I was unsure of the fitting (I lost weight and fitting a different size was foreign to me). I like to take my time when I try on clothes but i thought it was very rude when one of the workers started to open the fitting rooms and walking in on people. I noticed that she stopped opening doors when she walked in on me while I was still changing. I didn't understand why that was necessary when they take your name down and knows exactly which rooms are filled. I felt very uncomfortable with the situation. read more

Good store, been shopping them for years. Owners wife is a 2nd cousin to me. One of the other guys was stretching a bit by stating if they don't have it, it don't exist. Hardly, there is a lot in the gun dept they don't have especially of reloading. Nice friendly helpful crew except for the old jerk on the Segway in the hunting dept. He is enough to drive anyone away. My future son in law was looking at a Desert Eagle, that guy had asked if he wanted him to take it out so he could look at it, witch he did. He looked it over, handed it back and said thank you. The old guys reply was, "If you aren't going to buy it why did you have me take it out?" Real nice, Huh? I'm 57 and when I was a little shaver of 7 or 8, every time I was in the old Scheels on S. University (the one next to Ben Franklin), I would go over and touch a black Schwinn Typhoon with CHROME FENDERS! Fred Scheel knew me from being there so much and came over one day and said, "what kind of bike do you ride now?" We went outside and I showed him my cobbled together hand-me-down. He said he would give me $10 trade-in and I could pay $5 a month on the Typhoon with CHROME FENDERS! Quickly figuring it out in my head, I thought to myself that I would have the bike by next summer. Fine by me and we shook on it. I gathered the stuff I needed at the store and headed out the door. Then the door swung open again and there stood Fred. He said , "Aren't you forgetting something?" I checked my list. Nothing missing. "Your new bike". He let me ride away on my new bike. I was only 7 years old! I'm sure my old one went straight into the dumpster. I have never forgotten it.
