You can tell when someone means what they say, and I genuinely felt like she cared that we were satisfied. This girl deserves a Starbucks trip and a raise! Fargo Scheels Superstore review: I have been to this store many times for all kinds of things. Usually it is a pretty good experience. Expect to pay 10-15% more for the Scheels experience. This review is for the person who I believe is the Manager of the Running shoe Dept. He is a middle aged (45 about) short crew cut dark hair. He knows little to nothing about running shoes. All he can come up with is Brooks Glycerines and Asics Gel-Nimbus. Once you get past that he has no clue and the only reason he has those two down is because of their success Great Foam, Very Popular in the running community. I was in the Fargo Superstore yesterday looking at Trail Running shoes. I and I was interested in a Hoka Speed Goat. None of the young guys where around so I had to deal with guy. Not the first time. I wanted to try the Hoka's on.... They didn't fit too Small. The Dialogue was starting to deteriorate so I started asking him some questions about the Foam in the Hoka SpeedGoat 7 Compared to the OnCloud CloudHorizon I had just bought from that store less than a month a go. He told me the Foam in the Hoka SpeedGoat 7 is exactly the same as the OC CloudHorizon's. He could not have been more WRONG! Speedgoats are the Typical Super critical EVA and the OC CloudHorizon are a Proprietary formula of foam Called Helion HF. This Manager says it with so much Conviction it is hilarious but if you're not a running shoe consumer you would never know this person has little to no knowledge about running shoe construction or materials. The sad part is he is the standard for this stores running shoe Dept. If Scheels wants to up their game to the National Sports Equipment retailer they aspire to be. We ordered (5) owala water bottles from Scheels and (3) of them came damaged. The packaging was adequate to protect the items from the kind of damage that we found once they arrived. When you try to set up a return, they try to push you to file a claim with the carrier (Route). I suspect that Sheels is buying seconds and or previously sold returns from clearing houses and reselling them. They are knowingly shipping damaged and defective merchandise and making the carrier eat the costs calling it shipping damage. So Scheels gets to recoup their out of pocket cash for the seconds they are selling as new at a lower price, and making the shipper eat the cost of damages. Quite the little scheme they got going. We purchased an Otter flip over ice shack on 12/31/2025 from the Eau Claire store. We chose this one because the sales person said it had integrated lights. We asked if they could assemble it and he said they could. They didn't have any in stock but could ship from another store. Even though it was being shipped between stores it would cost $175. We purchased $550 worth of accessories that we left there to install. Total spent that day on just this was $2200. We received an email confirmation which showed it was setup to ship to our home so we had to call and get that straightened out. Once it arrived at the store, they called to notify us and learned it did not have integrated lights. We asked to have Otter lights installed and we would pay when we picked it up. They told us no, we'd have to buy them separately and install them ourselves. When we went to pick up the shack we looked for lights but we're told scheels didn't have any in stock and we'd have to order online. OK fine. So we drive around to get the ice shack only to be handed a bill for clam lights they installed and a$300 assembly fee. Not only were they the wrong lights but we were never told about an assembly fee - for that cost plus the shipping between stores, we would've just did it ourselves. We went in to speak to the store manager, who was quite frankly a jerk. We simply said if the fee wasn't waived we'd like to return it all and go somewhere else. He eventually agreed to refund the fee but said "I'm looking you in the eye and telling you we're never refunding this fee in future" and made us feel like WE did something wrong. There were so many mistakes made by scheels throughout this entire process and we never received any apologies. We've spent a lot of money here over the years but this one experience has us reconsidering shopping here in the future. read more

I am so upset with this company right now. It's so hard to surprise older kids for Christmas. I ordered a pizza oven and they did not put it in a brown box just sent it in the pizza box so you could see the whole picture. It's almost $350 so talk about inviting people to possibly steal it. But if you return something then you were charged the original shipping fees. Plus some miscellaneous fees. This is so deceiving! I tried to order an item from Scheels website because it's not available in stores. The website wouldn't process my card so I called customer service and they sent me a link to order from. I filled out the card information again and initially my order was approved but I got an email later saying my order was cancelled because it didn't meet their order processing requirements. The card I was trying to use had thousands in available credit, it wasn't expired or even close and I had all of my information filled out correctly. When I called customer service again the lady on the other end cited 13,000+ orders that had gone through the day before with only 200 orders rejected. I use the same card any time I need to order something online and never have any issues. Scheels didn't seem to care that I couldn't get my card approved (they didn't explain why it didn't get approved) so I won't be purchasing from them ever again, in store or online. read more

I got a offer from a scheels visa and was offered a card with a 5k limit. Fast forward 2 years and out of the blue they dropped my available credit limit to 2k for no apparent reason... never late and I did use the card. I called and didnt get a reason that made any sense. Ok so I stopped using the card completely and after a year just completely paid it off. Recently I have been paying attention to my credit score and it jumped up 130 points because I have been focused on paying debt down. Well the scheels visa cut my available credit in half again. I called and they said my debt to available credit was too high... I let them know that I had no debt for months and that all my credit cards had no balance but no help on their end. they said once the credit was dropped I would have to wait four months to reapply for more credit so I just canceled the card. The person on the phone was nice enough but there was no trying to escalate or truly solve my issue. The vicious circle is lets say you have 5k credit card and you use $2500 of the credit on that card. Then they say "your debt to available credit is too high so we are lowing your credit limit to 3k"... Well you did have a 50% debt to credit utilization but now that they dropped it to 3k your credit utilization is like 85% because of scheels dropping your available credit!!! They were the ones dropping my credit score because they were taking the credit limit down. Anyway the frustrating part about it is that my credit has never been better, its in high 700s but they are saying my fico score is low and my credit utilization high.... I can prove the exact opposite. read more

A couple of weeks ago I ordered a baseball bat from Scheel's that was listed as in stock for $79.99. A couple of days later I get a cancellation notice telling me the bat is not in stock. I get back online and the website said the bat was in stock so I ordered again. Two days later, same thing, I get a cancellation notice. I emailed customer service and got a lame response saying they can't attest to what stock is on the floor, as if they are physically pulling stock from the floor for online orders. Now, a couple of weeks after my order was canceled, I get back online and what do I see? The bat is back in stock, however the price has increased to $199.99. I emailed Scheel's customer service 2 days ago complaining and I never received a response. I would have been happy to wait a couple of weeks to get the bat at the lower price, instead of them canceling my order and jacking the price up by $120. When I had talked to a rep. before purchase they told me it was safe, only they had access to the cards. We live in the Tulsa area and the card was spent in Texas. The cards value was 100.00.
