I have never felt so unwelcome in a retail establishment in my life…read more I walked into the showroom to shop for eyeglasses during business hours and found myself in the center of their are staff meeting. With the gaze of the entire staff upon me, I was very rudely informed I could shop for frames by appointment only. I would need to make an appointment (even tho the sign on the door clearly stated appointments were preferred...not required.) There are three things wrong with this picture. 1. Obviously, the scolding tone of the woman. Ouch. Nobody wants to be scolded. 2. Why would you schedule a staff meeting in your show room during business hours? It doesn't seem like a very customer friendly thing to do. 3. The sign on the door should match the verbal policy you are communicating with your customers. My other recommendation would be that during their next all staff meeting they address customer service practices.
