On July 30, 2025, I stopped in your Scheels store in Bismarck looking for a pair of Keen shoes, which I purchased from you store may time before. I was approached by a sales associate and I told him that I was looking a new pair of Keens shoes. I indicated that I require a shoe with a wide width, and then indicated if the display does not indicate wide widths we don't have them. I then asked he could please check your store to if by any chance you might a pair on the shelves. He told me if they are not indicated come in a wide width you don't have any on hand. I then asked if could order a pair me on and have sent to my house as on some my prior purchases of this brand of shoe, his response was that was to online and look for what I wanted and order them myself. It appear if my sale was not going to be a quick sale or if was not one the youths purchasing back to school shoes, he was not interested in helping me. Now we are told to support our local businesses, but if this the kind of service we are going receive we might just well go the big box stores. read more

I didn't know what to expect as I've never seen a Scheels in my travels, so this was going to be a unique experience. It's... sporting goods and outdoors. Much like the Dicks or Academy chains I've seen elsewhere, but in the size of a Walmart Supercenter. Clothing, kayaks, more fishing equipment than I knew existed, guns both long and short, and lots more clothing. Four different associates asked me if I needed any help, which I did not. I did see some underlayer stuff that would have been great for keeping warm, but many did not have prices displayed and the ones that did were expensive. The store is full of merchandise. Every display is well packed and it's all put way, stacked or fluffed properly. Nothing on the floor and nothing untidy, which is likely because I ran into the manager twice as I walked my circuit of the store. Scheels is sure patriotic in their commercials for Veterans Day, too bad they don't even offer a military discount. Dishonest marketing, all they offer for veterans and active duty military is a parking spot in the lot. read more

The Best part about This Scheels is the in-house cafe Gramma Ginna's Cafe and Fudge Shop... custom wraps ... ice cream ... gourmet coffee! BUT I CANT FIND THE CAFE ON YELP- what gives? Follow up... took 12 napkins to eat my Chicken- Bacon Wrap..... yummie!!!!! PERFECT read more

Wow, what service! I was in looking for a jacket and didn't immediately find what I was looking for so I asked for assistance. The floor salesman was very courteous and accommodating. He and I visited several sections of the store, finally finding exactly what I was looking for along with a couple of items my better half needed. Even the cashier was professional and easy going when I declined to open a charge account. read more

I stopped in the Bismarck Scheels store yesterday and it was a very positive experience. Every team member I encountered whether just walking by or helping me - greeted me with a "good morning ". I usually go in with a mission and want to do my own thing but I found the greetings very sincere and welcoming. Keep up the good work!! read more

Wow! What a great store. Here visiting from FL and we have nothing that compares to this. They have anything we could need for cold weather or spirting goods. We purchased a jacket some gloves, hat and scarf. The guys did not want to leave. read more

We stopped in here with our friends while on vacation. They have a very large location at the Kirkwood Mall. We already had our ski clothes and accessories but our friends didn't, so we all came here to help them find what they needed and see if we needed anything additional. They have a large selection of all kinds of sporting goods, clothes and supplies that you may need for any adventure. Everything was organized well. They carry all kinds of good brand names. The prices are on the steep side though. We had a great guy helping us out. I'm sorry that I don't recall his name now, but he was a big help. It seemed that the staff is willing to help out pretty well. There were plenty of people helping out at checkout as well. We would definitely go back if we were in town and needed something. read more

Scheels draws crowds from all over. Seriously I swear people pilgrimage to this place to experience it for themselves. What's it all about? It is massive and a sports store on steroids. You'll find athletic gear for any sport along with fashionable casual wear from Patagonia, Nike, Under Armor, and the like. Large gun selection, too, for hunters. Take a swing at the indoor driving range and try out the golf clubs. Knock down some pins on their two bowling lanes or throw some balls in their virtual reality sports screen. Their cafe is a great place to have lunch, too. Typical sandwiches and soups are offered along with a fudge shop that has a counter the length of a football field. Ok, not that long, but they're serving up a lot of fudge. It's a definite stop one needs to make if you're in town. read more

The staff is awesome. Great customer service. My only reason for not giving them 5 stars are the prices. Everytime I research alternative stores for the same products, I can find much better prices elsewhere. I would love to shop there more often but I really feel like they do not compete pricewise at all. But again, I love the friendly employees! read more

I received great customer service from Mike. He helped me buy a bike helmet and he saw me around the store. It was my first time in a Scheels. I'll be back! The cashiers were friendly as well. I love the gun section too with all the wildlife. read more

I love that the employees are always really helpful, and they have a really nice selection of products. Of course the sporting good stuff but also clothes, school & jackets. I just got a North Face jacket there that is gorgeous. They had to special order it for me and were very nice about it and it came really quickly! read more

Wow! This store seriously has everything related to sports. HUGE selection of Under Armor apparel. Prices are pretty standard on most items but there is some major overpriced items. read more

A majority of the staff at Scheels are helpful and friendly. How ever the lack of expertise in the outdoor sporting good departments, such as bow hunting, baffles me. I recently was helping my friend, who is new to bow hunting, buy a bow. We had an associate named Zack M or something and he was a complete Ass. He knew next to nothing about the equipment, was extremely condescending towards my friend and I, and kept pushing expensive products on my friend. This isn't the first time I have had issues with the Archery department. They do extremely low quality work and almost never finish stuff when they say they will. A few of the guys are great but a majority of them are worse than useless. I am seriously better off working on my bow myself rather than have them screw it up and tell you it's your fault. I have been shooting bow for 18 years and rarely have a good experience with them. Last time I took it in to get it worked on it came back with a screw missing and the associate said it was a pointless screw. After which the research I did showed that it was vital to the limbs maintaining their position which directly effect the accuracy and precision of the bow. If you want to have a good experience with archery do not go to Scheels! read more
