Beware of the billing practices at this office…read more I came in for ankle pain and was given a basic ankle brace - the same type of brace you can buy over the counter at most pharmacies or online. No one discussed the cost with me, asked whether I wanted the brace, or informed me that it would be billed at a substantial amount through my insurance. A few weeks later, I received a bill showing that I owed a hefty amount for this brace. I was shocked. Had I been told the cost upfront, I would have declined it and purchased one myself for a fraction of the price. When I called the office to express my concerns, I spoke with a front desk representative named Marina. Rather than addressing my concerns, I found her response dismissive and rude. What bothers me most is the lack of transparency. The entire experience felt very scammy to me, and it left me with serious concerns about this practice's billing practices and patient communication.

She was very knowledgeable about my issues and gave me several, non-invasive solutions to try. The receptionist was friendly, Dr. Parikh took time to explain why I was having pain in a way that was understandable, and provided me with a great solution. I would recommend her to anyone!

I have tried a few others, including seeing a podiatrist. First, I would recommend to make an appointment ahead of time as they were busy. When it was my turn, the consultant was very friendly and listened attentively to my reason to visit. After taking some measurement, we went on to try on the inserts. I was skeptical, but I can feel a difference! A good difference. One thing you should be prepared is the cost. It is a lot but I must say that it is not like any inserts that you could get in the stores.

When I first picked them up, no accommodation had been made for the bunion, and I took them back to be adjusted. The adjustment didn't work either. Also, for the foot with the callouses they simply built up the arch support to where it's very uncomfortable. I've worn them to the gym regularly since I picked them up and now recognize that the muscle strain in my left calf is due to the Stellar orthotics. So I'm back to using my (wonderful) Powerstep Protech (OTC) orthotics which are far superior. So, $540 down the drain for nothing! Also the wait time in the office for someone to be there for my appointment was very long, and the staff was only marginally polite and pleasant.

FIrst of all, my foot orthotics are of high quality. However, my main reason for giving a 5 star…read morerating is that Sandy, the office administrator, goes above and beyond to provide great service. My insurance covers foot orthotics when medically necessary, but I could not find a podiatrist office or orthotics provider that would believe me and was told repeated they wouldn't be covered because I didn't have diabetes; they wouldn't waste their time contacting the insurance company and wanted to charge me cash. But Sandy was different. She listened to me. I told her my story of woe, and she said to email my insurance information, and she'd see what she could do. She advocated for me with the prior authorization unit at Stellar. And because of Sandy, I am about to pick up my second pair of orthotics.

I put them onto a group call with my insurer, who informed them that 100% coverage was, in fact , the coverage through my pension plan. When I got to the clinic to be fitted, the Weil staff insisted I was responsible for $500 for the inserts, so I traveled 40 minutes for nothing. The fact that I had the paperwork with me, indicating 100% coverage, they insisted they would need a $500 payment from me. A few days later, they called to tell me that I had been approved for 100% coverage, a full 10 days after I had them speak to my insurer. I had no real complaints about the doctor, but the business office is a dumpster fire. I'm now dealing with a different podiatrist and will avoid Weil like they are COVID.

I had surgery a few years ago with Dr. Weil Jr. After scheduling my surgery for a bone fusion, I…read morehad second thoughts. I went to see Dr. Weil to tell him that I was thinking about canceling my surgery. I am a dancer and I need my foot to perform. I was very clear with him about how important it was for me to be able to dance. I told him my concerns and he reassured me that the bone fusion would help my pain and I would still be able to dance with no problems. After the surgery I had persistent pain. I took almost a year off of dancing to see if that would help with the pain. I had several follow up appointments with no answers as to why I was still in so much pain. He recommended I get a second opinion and asked me to come in to see another doctor in his practice. When I came in, I found out a few minutes before the doctor came in that the doctor was his wife. I was so infuriated, that I wasn't told ahead of time. She came in and I cried from frustration and my ability to not dance. She had no empathy for me. She said I could put some cushions on my shoes to see if it would help. I asked her if I needed surgery or if something was wrong and she couldn't answer but said let's try to fix your shoes with cushion. I was so angry I left. They never followed up with me to see if I was ok or how to remedy my pain. I went to see three other doctors after that and one doctor at the University of Chicago told me that the surgery didn't go well and explained to me in detail why I was in so much pain. I was again in tears and angry. My dancing is very limited because of the pain and my foot is now rolling out so I can't do the things I was able to do before the surgery. I have limited the times I dance and I can't walk barefoot without pain. I have to be in gym shoes with my orthotics to be able to walk without limited pain. I now have to get a revision surgery. I was told it would take a year to recovery fully and I won't be able to drive for 6 months because it's my right foot. My life has completely changed since this horrible surgery. The revision surgery doesn't guarantee I will be pain free but at this point it's my only option and hope to living without pain. I don't know why doctors can get away with destroying people's lives, lying and most of all not having any empathy. My intuition of not getting the surgery was spot on and I didn't listen. Unfortunately, I am paying for the consequences. :( I do not recommend Dr. Weil Jr.!
