She also loved the materials and the "studio" (though it seems very cramped to me) The downside for us was instructors style of teaching. She was harsh and not really welcoming or kind. When I tried to speak with her and share my concerns on the second day she made a big speech to me about how important it is making sure the children aren't comparing themselves to one another so they need to be isolated to their own work with no talking to one another. I think in a 4 day summer camp my expectation was more about light-hearted fun than something serious like that. We won't go back for this reason so I can't give it 5 stars. I wish it had gone differently because Matilda's work is really great!

She has a great sense of pacing and gives participants autonomy to express their own touches to pieces. She gave me really helpful pointers as it was my first time doing a class and I loved how she demonstrated on her own plate to show me how to blend colors if I wanted to and did not simply do it for me. If you are 21+, they are very accommodating with BYOB providing ice, glasses, and OJ for mimosas! He said Al Capone produced bootlegged alcohol there, and that a burn mark on one of the wooden beams is actually from that time! I thought that was so interesting. He also did a mini trivia game, and the winner got one of the instructor's paintings. I won! I got a really cool painting that's now displayed on my bookshelf. I've come here a couple times to see exhibits and to early vote which is very easy to do here. They offer many special events here with plenty of parking and easy access. They also offer many special aid services.

We live only a few miles from the Trickster Cultural Center and have never been able to go. We've…read moretried to go many times over the years but never looked at their hours of operation. We finally were able to go in on 2/26/22. And, the wait was worth it. We were the only people who were not volunteers or employees that day - we had the museum to ourselves. The building was much larger than it appears outside. You enter into the front room, which is a combination of artifacts, art, jewelry, and a gift shop. There is a room open on the north side which was, for the most part empty. This is their special exhibit room. There were some remaining items from a prior exhibit, which were very interesting. There is also a room upstairs with various items. The most interesting were the quilts and a Native American dress exhibit. Most of the museum is built to honor Native American veterans. This whole theme was fascinating. I fancy myself as an American history buff. Frankly, everything was new to me except for a display case explaining the "Code Talkers." (If you aren't sure about the code talkers - check Wikipedia or see the movie. This was fantastic. There is no entrance fee so you can just enter, but there is a place to leave donations. When you do go, make sure to donate what you can. Much of their funding relies on this.

They usually do 1 "children's" play such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang each season. The theater is non profit. The cast is all volunteer. Do not let that affect what you think. The plays are wonderful. I just saw Tuesdays with Morrie last night. Tears were rolling down my cheeks. If you have not been to one of the plays before...well, you are missing a good show.
