I was diagnosed with Menieure's disease by my ENT physician, and after months of trials with various drugs, was told that there was nothing he could do for my vertigo, major hearing loss and tinitus. This physician told me that I would probably have to quit working as this disease progressed. I am self-employed with no disability insurance, so that was not an option. I went to Schafer Chiro with the hope that maybe they could help me. Dr. Andy adjusted my neck and back, and I got a Reiki massage from SheriBeth. Within 3 visits (no kidding) I had significant reduction in the tinitus, my hearing was improving dramatically and my vertigo disappeared. After a few more visits, I was cured!! I had extreme lower back pain. I could barely bend to wash or dress myself less than 2 weeks ago. Dr. Schafer was referred to me by a friend, and I couldn't be happier. Arriving to the Schafer Chiropractic & Healing Spa for the first time was a great experience. Everyone in the office is very friendly and it is a peaceful and comforting environment. Dr. Schafer is a very attentive and is wonderful with knowing just what to do to stop the pain. After just one visit there was an extreme difference in the decreased pain in my back. Last week I suffered from a muscle spasm that affected my neck, back and arm. I called Schafer Chiropractic and was able to get a same day appointment for both a massage and an adjustment. Both Dr. Schafer and the massage therapist provided me with education about how certain muscles impact certain bones and the body as a whole. Not only did I learn a lot, but I was able schedule me for a second appointment the following day and taught me to do stretches at home. After going only two times for a massage and adjustment, the results were immediate!Within three days my pain has been relieved and I've been able to resume my typical activities and workouts. After having my old chiro doc for 15+ years move out of town, I found it challenging to find someone just as good to replace him. I tried a place on SW side of GR not happy that he only adjusted my neck, that just did not work for me. Then I found Schafer Chiro Healing Spa. Very happy with the quality of spinal adjustments. I've been seeing Dr. Schafer for chiropractic for approximately a year, for occaisional back issues. I've found him very knowledgeable, gentle, thorough, and competent. He's also been very flexible as I seem to have issues on weekends or after hours, and I can usually get in quickly when I contact the office; he's very customer-focused. I've also had a couple of massages prior to getting adjusted; they are very good with deep-muscle, "working it" style massage, which I much prefer over the "feel-good" stuff. Very helpful.
