Great for breakfast, especially if you love pancakes like I do. Arguably the best I've ever had. I ordered the bittersweet chocolate & raspberry (zarbitterschokolade + himbeersauce) pancakes and immediately desired to try the rest of the menu. The texture and portion size was ideal. Until next time Schönes Café!

Small but lovely and cozy place in a quiet street. Even better on spring/summertime with the small terrace, you wouldn't believe you're in a huge city like Berlin with all the trees around you ! I've only tried the blueberry pancakes over there which are a must and not too pricey (around 10 € with a fresh juice). I highly recommend !! :)

Cute place for breakfast. Started with a cappuccino and then Ordered the blueberry hill pancakes (blueberry sauce and maple syrup) with a side of bacon and the red bomb (raspberry and chocolate) pancakes. Small menu but everything sounded great. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced! Would highly recommend if in the area.

    Blueberry Hill! Yum!

Schönes Cafe serves great pan cakes! The place is small and cozy. Highly recommended if you're in Kreuzberg!

Despite my not so great experience on the phone, because I was first told you could not reserve on the weekend, even though it was 7 of us we managed to get a table in the end. The food and also the service was very good. I would totally recommend this place .

As an American wanting pancakes, these are the best I have ever had. You will not be disappointed. These are gourmet pancakes and also I never knew scrambled eggs could taste so good. Well worth the price and time to check this place out absolutely the best around.

Shönes Cafe is such a great little find. The restaurant is adorable, also has great outdoor seating. The waiter is super friendly and speaks English, though there are no English menus. The cappuccino is one of the best I've ever had in my life. And the food - SO GOOD. Everything tastes really fresh and it's all creatively done. The Dutch-style pancakes are fluffy and dreamy. The porridge is delicious and well-spiced. A wonderful place for a quiet, delicious Sunday brunch.

Came here for brunch about a month ago when the bf and I were in Berlin on vacation. We decided to…read morecome here because of its high ratings on Yelp. We got in just before noon, and we were glad we did because the place got completely full soon after we got seated. The menus were a little confusing as we don't speak any German and the menus had some English pages mixed in with the German pages (the little footnotes were what really confused me, but then I realized that they were using them as markers for different types of allergens). However, it didn't seem that hard to figure out as most of the offerings for brunch offered either cold cuts, cheese, vegetarian spreads, etc. with pastries and such. I opted for their normal sized vegetarian offering (you can ask for a vegan one also) along with coffee and a 20 mL cup of red currant juice. The bf got an order of their scrambled eggs with bacon, along with a 40 mL cup of orange juice. The vegetarian offering I got was amazing. There were a few different slices of cheese, 2 different types of savory spreads (one yogurt based, and the other was some sort of curried spread), and a bunch of fresh fruits. We got a very generous sized basket of bread to share, and it was just a perfect and somewhat light meal. The bf's eggs were delicious, and our juices were fresh and tasy as well. We could easily see why this place was so popular with the locals. Would definitely come back here if I ever happened to find myself in Berlin again.

Summary: If you want a breakfast in berlin thats gonna make you say WOW... this is the place!…read more I can say I have probably had the best bagel of my whole life!! And thats saying a lot considering I grew up on New York Bagels. The ingredients were incredibly fresh, the presentation is just gorgeous, and it was absolutely delicious. The cream cheese has a hint of lemon oil in it that just brings the entire dish together. The space itself is super cozy and cute, i sat on a high top chair by the window and enjoyed watching passersby's eyes open wide at the amazing food The menu is very limited but it all looked amazing, other peoples dishes at tables beside me looked large and beautiful as well so I have no doubt everything here is a hit! This is one of my last meals in berlin but I wish I could come here every morning!!! Service was fast and friendly as well :-) 10/10 homerun cafe

Would you like a crowded café with an Instagram aesthetic (ranging from the food to the decor) and a fast-paced meal or something more Berlin -- a lowkey living room-esque vibe with meat and cheese galore? Thankfully, bRICK manages to bridge these two identities for a peaceful weekend brunch that'll make you feel like you're right at home. I stopped by on a recent Saturday morning to find it half empty, more or less. The customer service was a little brusque (not surprising) though not overtly so as its hipster decor might allude to. I had the "Brickfast" -- the most Californian option on the menu (with Berlin prices). It included two fried eggs, grilled cheese (as in, thin blocks), avocado, hummus, homemade tomato cream cheese (!), olives, bread, and a small salad. The tomato cream cheese was definitely a nice touch, though I was a little disappointed that the tomato taste was just a bit too subtle for me to actually discern. And the eggs left me wanting more... more water, actually, because they were way too salty! But points for effort because there was so much food, I guess?

The first English review of Wirtshaus Hasenheide, I'm honoured! And also feeling shameful that I…read moredon't speak German :( So I thought I'd offer a tourist's view of this traditional German eatery. We had a supreme restaurant guide in the form of Svenja of course, who talked us through the menu with total efficiency and recommended what she thought would give us a well-rounded impression of German food. We were a table of one pescetarian, one meat-eater who hates mushrooms and one lady who was happy to have a little of everything, so we opted for three dishes to share. Simple solution really, Svenja and I could partake the non-meat creamy cheesy pasta with crisped onions and mushroomy cheesy rosti option, she and my SO could share his meat dish as well as the pasta (he's the mushroom-hater, by the way) and that way everyone could have a bit of what they liked. Firstly we ordered drinks which were beers and wine, lovely enough and reasonably priced too, and when it came to ordering food we did get to that point where you feel horrendous for waving a member of staff over... but the wait was getting a little OTT and we were all very hungry little souls by this point. Anyway, when the food came it did not disappoint. The mushrooms on the rosti had been cooked brilliantly, in that they offered none of that sliminess which indicates they've been sweating in their own juices too long... rather they were tender, had bite to them and really retained the flavour of the dish. Yep, garlic to the max. Piles of melted cheese of course, as is requisite for the foodstyle, and oh, that melt in the mouth grated potato underneath! Heaven. The thick spaghetti noodles with the creamy cheese sauce were divine, and I did sneak a potato from the SO's plate but even they were full of bacon - that was one meaty dish! They even sliced the sausages in a really unusual style whereby they opened like flowers, or squids, much to his horror and my amusement. The place is atmospheric and full of wood; you kind of feel like you're in a lodge. Overall it was an awesome start to our trip, the food was spot on and while the slow service did let it down somewhat it came with a friendly smile, so there's little to complain about really. A surprise winner, and I do want that rosti again... like right now, please.

But, as soon as you walk in, the smile of the owner --whose nickname is the café's name and also a language from eastern Anatolia-- tells you the place is something unique. It feels contrived to write, but on my first visit, I really did feel like he was welcoming me as a guest to his house (so much so that I was almost obliged to search for a hidden camera ...). I've returned several times since then and always enjoyed the same service, from everyone working there. That personal and welcoming tone somehow carries over to every angle of the business: the cabinets behind the counter look like they could be in a cozy cottage, all the tables and chairs and the sofas in the backroom (if a bit awkwardly scattered) seem personally chosen and invite tucking in with a book or for long lounging conversations, the stereo hums oldtime jazz or turkish folk music in the background, every cappuccino has art in the foam, and they seem to have every imaginable milk type available to suit a customer's needs. The café is still new-ish...who knows, perhaps this attention to detail will vanish with time, but I doubt it - the mood set and the quality of the cakes and coffee (Zazza is also a bean roastery, you can buy bags to take home) carry all the hallmarks of a great business. I've yet to try the breakfast (e.g. scrambled eggs with turkish sucuk sausage, bircher muesli, croissants, savory or sweet mixed breakfast plates...), but the various cakes --from cheesecake to mousse to streusel-- seem to already have devoted followers on Sunday afternoons. I'm definitely one of them: sitting in the row of theater seats at the front, looking out on the park through the big front window, eating the 'orient orange' cake and sipping a cortado it's hard to imagine a better end to the weekend.
