My 16yo wanted to take his "friend" on a helicopter ride for his Birthday. We chose Scenic Helicopter because of their reputation. We're local to the area, and they have been doing it for a long time. The kids really enjoyed the lake tour & seeing their houses from the air. We got the all digital picture package & they did an awesome job on those as well. The staff were helpful, polite & kind. Overall it was a very good experience & worth the $$.

Friendly Staff, Clean Aircraft, Fun Family Time This is a fun little thing to do with the family if your kids haven't been on a helicopter. We did the $39 a person river ride. It's only about 5-6 minutes but it sure made both of my kids smile a lot. My so. Asked a couple days earlier if we could ride in a helicopter so sure; why not. It might have been cooler to take the longer ride but it was so fun for my 3 year old. He was smiling so big! The pilot and all the staff were friendly.

Couldn't speak more highly of this place!!! First off, helicopter rides start at $9!!!!! You heard me NINE DOLLARS. Even to experience being close to or inside of a helicopter is worth that. Secondly, the staff were so friendly and accommodating. My elderly and practically immobile grandma wanted to go and the staff didn't hesitate to offer any bit of help to make it special for her. Was very quick, no app needed, and very enjoyable!

We had a wonderful experience at Scenic Helicopter Tours! There is a wide selection of tour options from a few dollars to extended packages. We chose the Ridge Runner Tour which was a fly over Bluff Mountain. Very scenic tour and very enjoyable! Our pilot Jesse was very engaging and pointed out key scenic points and attractions along the 18 minute flight. Jay was our boarding attendant and explained the safety rules to make sure that we had an enjoyable experience. We will definitely return again for other tours. If you have any concerns, it is very safe and worth every dollar! Located on Winfield-Dunn Parkway behind the big yellow helicopter.

For a 12 mile tour, it was short and sweet with great views. Especially the junkyard.

Outstanding service and quality helicopter tours! I chose the new combo tour of Douglas Lake and the Smokies. Phil was the pilot and he had a lot of interesting information of the area. Taylor also took great photos before the flight. I will definitely be returning with a group of friends in the future. This was a really fun activity for the area! It can be as cheap or as expensive as you'd like.

It was only 15 mins long but we loved every second. Our pilot was Sam, he chatted and told us many spots of interest . I can't put a picture because they are on my camera but trust me the view was amazing worth the money!!

Our pilot Wade was really really awesome and informative. My boyfriend was visiting from South Korea, and both the pilot and our attendant made him feel so so welcomed! Even though we decided to do the short lake route, it gave a taste for more! When we go back again, we will definitely do a longer one. The sights were beyond beautiful!! I can't recommend enough!

Absolutely loved our flight time with Cam. It was our son's first tome flying period & he was in the front. It was fun to watch him & listen to him chat. We did an upgrade from a shorter tour to a slightly longer one. Worth the money & great photos by Jay. We highly & Absolutely recommend this company.

Family photo taken by Scenic (picture of the picture). Everyone in this pic flew together. Shows you how many people you can bring at once.

These helicopter tours are almost never worth the money because of the short duration. But if you are going to do it then Scenic is the one to pick. My youngest kids were both scared until we got inside the Bell loneranger which holds 6 passengers and the pilot. Most Tours will only have a Bell helicopter that holds 3 passengers. They have those as well. Having the option for my whole family to fly at once was a great surprise. My kids loved it and I wish I would have paid for a longer flight. The gift shop has a lot of aviation themed gifts and toys as well. Ask for your Military discount.

The views were simply beautiful. My girlfriend and I went on a helicopter for the first time on our mini vacation to Pigeon Forge, and we are so glad we did! Rico was our pilot, and he was phenomenal! The communication between pilots was frequent, and the ride was very safe. We had the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Scenic Helicopter Tour, and this is a 25 to 30 minutes flight tour. With more than forty years experience on flying over the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, it is safe to say Scenic Helicopter Tours knows how to make it an experience to remember. Taking off over historic downtown Sevierville, you are instantly greeted with stunning mountain views. The flight continues over the Pigeon Forge Parkway and Gatlinburg as you take in all the sights of the surrounding areas. Once over Gatlinburg, you will head west and into the park boundary. Fly over the stunning Sugarland Valley, Fighting Creek Gap, and into the park's Elkmont community. Rounding out of Elkmont you will be presented with views of Mount LeConte, Clingmans Dome and Cove Mountain. Then follow along the Little River to Metcalf Bottoms and the scenic Wears Valley and Walden's Creek areas. The flight then crosses over Bluff Mountain and into the Tennessee Valley on the return to the heliport. The tour covers about 50 miles with an approximate flight time of 25 to 30 minutes, depending upon wind and weather conditions. Thankfully, on the day we went up the weather conditions were perfect. Rico was funny, conversational, and recommended other things to do in the area. We really enjoyed our time and would recommend this for others! I personally recommend Rico as your tour guide.

We were there in early spring and enjoyed stunning weather, blooming wild flowers, and bear sightings a-plenty. We also were there when the dogwoods were blooming and there are dogwood trees throughout the park--it was stunning. We enjoyed driving around the park, hiking, and stopping at various points of interest. We were also able to take an accessible hike up a paved trail to the highest point in the park, which was amazing. My eyes seriously just could not get enough of all the gorgeous nature to be enjoyed here. Top notch. Get to it!

We had a fabulous visit to this vast natural wonder. We learned that Park is the largest natural habitat in the continental U.S. The signature "smoky" appearance of the mountains is caused by an evaporation of organic rich moisture released by the vegetation within the Park. We started our visit by stopping at the visitors center to pick up a parking permit ($5/day) and maps ($1). I was glad we picked up maps because there is very little internet connectivity in the park, so we lost our navigation tools. The leaves were not on the trees yet (April) so we had magnificent uninterrupted views of the mountains and skylines. Spring wild flowers were in bloom. And we actually saw a mother bear with two cubs crossing the road. Each day during our visit we explored a different part of the park. We hiked to waterfalls and enjoyed scenic overlooks. We enjoyed exploring historic cabins and cemeteries. Popular sites were crowded and sometimes we had to wait for parking. Plan to arrive early. The park is filled with parking areas to pull off and enjoy the views or hike. Rest areas are available at many of the major sites. Leased dogs are only allowed in camping and parking areas and on two of the many trails. Bring good walking shoes, a hiking stick is helpful, water and sun glasses. You probably need to bring snacks, but keep those secure from wildlife.

The Sinks is a lovely waterfall along the river. There is a small parking lot with about a dozen spaces where we found parking. An observation area is a short walk from parking. A sign describes the area and that the falls were manmade. During the late 1800's the river was used to transport logs/timber to the nearby town of Elkmont. After a storm, flood waters caused a jam in the river. Dynamite was used to restore water flow. The blast resulted in a twist in the river and creation of the waterfall. A set of stone steps leads up a hill, offering lovey views of the falls. There are dozens of waterfalls in the Park. Sure, we saw…read moresome water views of the city and bridges, yet we only traveled from the docks near Volunteer Landing to Crescent Bend on the Tennessee River, a distance of approximately 3 miles. About 10 years ago we took the same boat ride and traveled farther down the River. Along the route, a man narrated our short journey pointing out buildings and markers along the way--however, with diners carrying on conversations, background music playing, dishes clanking and the engines roaring, it was difficult to hear even half of what he said. Again, the buffet lunch tasted fine, nothing outstanding, yet the chicken appeared to be seasoned with pepper and maybe a bit of salt. Perhaps a Chicken Piccata with slices of lemon in a creamy sauce or chicken-broth-seasoned sauce would have been more creative. The stewed cinnamon-sugar apples with pastry, served warm in the buffet might have been offered at the end of the food line as a dessert and in a separate dish. Instead, it appeared after the buttery biscuits and before the cold pasta salad with cucumbers and tomatoes and the hot carrots and corn. Overall, perhaps the paddle wheeler is an excellent experience for a first-time rider and a wonderful party venue for special events like weddings, birthdays and anniversaries. Having sailed twice before, this $45 per person ride (there were 4 of us) needed a more clearly-heard narration, a longer ride, and perhaps more creative food. Kudos to the servers, though!
