He takes no interest in his patients. Brian is very good and he covers for the doctor but this is not the way its supposed to be. My research for a revision involved finding 3 top hair transplant doctors and getting to the bottom of this. After reading hundreds of reviews and speaking to various clinics, I settled on three doctors in California that exclusively do hair transplants and have done more than 40,000 procedures collectively. I flew out to California and met with each doctor. The most shocking thing was that each doctor had the exact same concerns with the work. All 3 doctors thought the transplant was horrible and said there was no way that a skilled/professional doctor did the work...which was when I told them that the entire procedure was done by technicians, not a medical doctor. They said that not only was that completely unethical, it is actually grounds for someone to lose their license in the US. Here are the other things they ALL said: 1. My hair line that was created was way too low and was done very unnaturally. Its very "pluggy" 2. I have very bad scars both on the donor area and the transplanted area. They all attributed this to dull instruments and unskilled hands (back to the technicians) 3. All 3 agreed that there are not 2200 grafts (which is what I paid for). They might have removed 2200 but there is no way they put 2200 in...they either died during the surgery or after. There was discussion in all 3 meetings about the amount of time the grafts were outside of my body and how important it is that they are kept in a certain solution and put back immediately. All three said that the hair has to be transplanted within an hour. 4.One of the 3 doctors said that it looks like some of the donor hair was taken from a very bad spot...way too high, possibly in the crown area ...that may be prone to fall out in the future. 5. All 3 doctors said PRP (I paid for 3) is ineffective and that recent data has shown that it can actually cause more shock to the area...and that taking blood our of the body in a time when it needs it most to heal is counterproductive. 6. One of the doctors made mention of the fact that if I paid for 2200 grafts, I should in actuality have gotten more like 3740 hairs at an average of 1.7 hairs per graft...some are 2s and some are 3s and that unless you are highly skilled and do hair transplants every day, exclusively you will not be proficient in this. 7. The middle part...there were many grafts put in there...all 3 doctors disagreed with this placement and said that it is possible that because it was done so unskilfully, it could have possibly shocked that area into further loss. The doctors agreed that if I choose to do a second hair transplant, it will be a repair and it will be a tricky one. The first one that Torgerson's techs did has greatly set me back because they now have to work with the awful hairline that was created and I have been depleted of valuable grafts that have now essentially been wasted. One of the three doctors refused to do the repair..he said he wasn't confident that it could even be fixed. I realize that the nature of humans is to put down other peoples work...That is why I went to 3 and let them do all the talking. They gave specific reasons about what was wrong with the work and they were almost identical...and in very deep detail. Do your research...ask the question..."DOES THE DOCTOR DO THE SURGERY?" "HOW LONG ARE THE HAIRS OUT OF THE BODY?" I now have to take out another loan to do a revision and there is no guarantee it will work. This doctor will not refund any of my money. It was the worst possible outcome.

Having had some less than amazing experiences at other dermatology clinics, I was excited to find…read moreCompass Dermatology online and scheduled a consultation with Ciara, one of the medical aestheticians, for help with a surgery scar on my neck and some other minor areas that needed touching up. Once I arrived, I found that the clinic was spotless, well lit and very well-staffed. Free WiFi and USB outlets throughout the waiting area made the experience just that little bit better. Ciara saw me quickly and after a brief chat we agreed on Profractional laser and some dermal fillers to address a minor "hollow" look under my eyes that had bugged me for years. While I went into this knowing I would be spending a reasonable amount of money, they were able to offer me a 10% discount if I paid for the laser treatments up front, which I gladly accepted. In terms of the treatment, every single member of the team was professional, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. I was led to a treatment room where a topical numbing cream was applied to the treatment area and kicked back for about 40 minutes while it took effect, listening to soft music which was played overhead. Overall the place runs like a well-oiled machine and their attention to detail really shows. Ciara went through the treatment plan and what to expect, and we had a short chat while she prepared the laser treatment. The numbing was extremely effective and I would describe the sensation as 'annoying' rather than painful, and I was done in about 30 minutes. I will say that looking in the mirror was a bit of a shock, but I was told it's completely normal and that it would heal quickly. They were right, as 2-3 days afterwards I was back into the swing of things and nobody could tell I had any work done. It is necessary to avoid direct sunlight for 72 hours after the procedure, and to wear sunscreen for two weeks. I wouldn't advise getting laser skin resurfacing done during the summer months for this reason. Once my laser treatment completed, I met with Dr. Carroll who was to administer the dermal filler. We chatted for a few minutes as her assistant prepared the treatment. I found both of them very professional and knowledgeable, and felt completely at ease. The filler was administered using a cannula which is a strange sensation, but not painful in the least. I was done in no more than 10 minutes with no aftercare required for the filler. The results were almost instant and only improved over the first 7 days after treatment. I'm very satisfied with the results! My follow-up with Dr. Carroll a few weeks later was another great experience. She asked not only about the procedure she performed, but the results of my laser treatment and carefully inspected both. I didn't feel rushed and was able to ask questions about anything relating to my treatment without feeling pressured. Overall I couldn't recommend the team at Compass Dermatology more. While excellent service is expected at this price point, the team really went above and beyond. This is definitely my cosmetic dermatology clinic of choice from now on!

This time I had a FUE procedure (about 2000 grafts) to cover my crown area. So far I am very happy with the recovery. I am very confident that the final result will be as good as that of my first time. The post operation service from Dr. Rahal's office is outstanding. As of my best knowledge, Dr. Rahal's hair transplant experience is the second to none. I highly recommend Dr. Rahal to anyone who needs a hair transplant procedure.
