sc specialties was great to work with. My wife and I had planned on selling our home and knew we (I) needed a few things completed on the hunny dew list. I called and received a few quotes for our roof replacement, a few windows and two concrete sidewalk squares. After speaking with a few contractors I ended up going with Skyler. His price was reasonable and their work was done with quality. Lastly one day the guys were working outside and they noticed me trying to bring in new kitchen cabinets and asked if I needed a hand. I took them up on that offer and pretty sure it saved me because he asked if I had planned on putting them up myself. Faintly I said yes and offered to help set them with me for free. I then asked instead of just helping me set the top cabinets, if I went to go pick up a few more for the bottom could he give me a quote to install all of them right after the roof since he was here ( I was in the middle of prepping our basement for tile). He agreed and gave me a heck of a deal, and saved me some serious time. Only mark against them would be how big the trailer was that he had. Although they cleaned up well and even took my old cabinets and basement carpet to the dump. My neighbors weren't a fan of the lack of street parking. But thank you Skyler and crew. I contacted SC Specialties to replace my siding with permanent siding and add a deck to my house in the fall of 2023. I was told it would be spring 2024 before they could schedule time. I agreed. I was contacted in December 2023 requesting to start immediately due to scheduling changes. I did not want them to start due to my schedule, however I was persuaded to let them start. I removed my concrete steps and sidewalk when I was told they would complete the deck and siding before leaving for another job. The siding was completed and they left me with no front steps for 2.5 weeks. I received no communication and suddenly one day they returned to start the deck. It was muddy and they destroyed my front yard. I was told they would come back and fix it. They put the skidloader bucket down and created dirt chunks in my front yard and then left. No communication. They bent my gutter and replaced it with a different color. They did not hang my gutter on my garage after putting up the siding. They did not put my supports under my bay window which is now beginning to tilt out of my house. They did not clean up after themselves. I have picked up 1.5 large coffee cans of nails, screws and siding clippings. I have called and texted with no reply. I saw Skyler Counterman, owner of SC Specialties at the Hartford car show and he turned away from me and avoided me. I am NOT impressed with the lack of communication, lack of professionalism and severe lack of customer service. I will NOT recommend SC Specialties to anyone. read more
