A greasy spoon wedged in between a steel merchant and a car wash in an industrial estate is probably not what the name Sbragia's brings to mind. You might have been expecting a vineyard or an upmarket fusion restaurant... not a chance. You'd be forgiven for walking right past this cafe with it's unassuming front right in the thick of Fazeley Street's industrial parks but it's one of Digbeth's hidden gems.
Most of Sbragia's trade comes from the surrounding industrial area so take away is it's main focus, but should you want to sit down and eat there is a lounge area with a few tables and chairs and a big comfy sofa if you just want a coffee and read the paper. The personal Sex Pistols memorabilia on the walls is a nice, but strange, touch giving the place a homely feel.
Very friendly and helpful staff make you feel really welcome and you can practically build your own breakfast from anything on the menu. There are no surprises with the menu but the food is cheap, the portions are big, and if you are looking for a typical greasy spoon with charm or just want to grab a builder's tea on your way through Eastside, Sbragia's could be the place to go. read more
