I officially change my mind! If you're staying in the area (or living there...), THIS should be…read moreyour go-to corner shop.
Little corner shops are surprisingly hard to come by your first few days in Madrid... I'm not sure if that was just a "me" thing, or if the particularly touristy spots I was wandering through just didn't boast many a corner shop but whatever way you toss it, it took me three days to actually find one within a block from the hotel.
Like my previous corner shop find, this place is pretty much your run of the mill corner shop. It carries all the essentials needed for email binges & work catch ups in your hotel room - crisps, soda, water, ice cream. Unlike my previous find, this one is a tad more cheery to pop into. The gent behind the counter was friendly, the selection was a bit better and it felt less like something (or everything) was going to fall over and trap me under an avalanche of junk food.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find the hours when I went in, so i'm not sure how late it's open, but it's definitely a good spot to run in during the day when you're pre-prepping for the night's shenanigans. Solid corner shop.
