I only grabbed a water and Starbucks café latte to go, but could easily have given into temptation and gotten a donut, chips, and a Kit Kat. This pancake mix is overly salty and doesn't taste like real pancakes, and the peanut butter has a lot of added sugar to it. This seems like a brand marketed with "American heritage" toward international markets but not actually common in the States. For peanut butter I'd suggest going with Adams which is classic and more natural.

Little corner shops are surprisingly hard to come by your first few days in Madrid... I'm not sure if that was just a "me" thing, or if the particularly touristy spots I was wandering through just didn't boast many a corner shop but whatever way you toss it, it took me three days to actually find one within a block from the hotel. Like my previous corner shop find, this place is pretty much your run of the mill corner shop. It carries all the essentials needed for email binges & work catch ups in your hotel room - crisps, soda, water, ice cream. Unlike my previous find, this one is a tad more cheery to pop into. The gent behind the counter was friendly, the selection was a bit better and it felt less like something (or everything) was going to fall over and trap me under an avalanche of junk food. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the hours when I went in, so i'm not sure how late it's open, but it's definitely a good spot to run in during the day when you're pre-prepping for the night's shenanigans. Solid corner shop.
