A sign on the door said if they weren't open, to go to their store in Bandera, called the Leather Bank. We did just that and were greeted by a wonderful saleswoman named Barbara. I told her that I and members of my family used to carry Collins handbags, which are now considered vintage. She told us the history of CollIns handbags and gave us a tour of the store, which included a collection of vintage Collins wooden and jeweled bags. I told her that when I lived in New Orleans, I sold Collins bags at my retail store, but didn't know they were still in business. (We had driven by the factory in Medina many times but it always looked closed.) Their products are still high quality and beautifully made.
