I find this to be the best pool amongst the westchester parks. Plenty of free parking and lots of options for seating. On sunny days the shaded spots close to the pool are taken early, but it has a lot of seating space, even if they aren't right next to the pool. There's a food stall with hot dogs and that kind of stuff. You can bring your own food, but no alcohol or glass containers of any kind. Bathrooms are big and they have changing areas. The pool itself is one huge rectangle that goes from kiddie area( 2') to deep area (11'). On the deep side there are about 4-5 lanes setup for people that want to do laps. They have a separate small kids area with water slide and splash area. You can get a discount entrance if you have the westchester park pass. You can also buy a summer pool pass if you are going frequently. Lots of families at the pool, but def plenty of space to spread out in the huge pool. read more

During the hot summer months, this place sports a long line up to an hour before they open. Get there early because even during the week, if you arrive too late, you'll be stuck parking in the executive building parking lots down the road and forced to take a shuttle bus to the pool. A packed shuttle bus. They open at 11 am during the week so make sure to get there by 10:30, the latest. The pool is huge so even when it IS packed, you don't feel it because of all the space. They have lap lanes and a kiddie area also. Their food can be pricey, so we always bring sandwiches, fruit and waters with us whenever we go. Just make sure that if you do choose to go that route, your cooler is no bigger than a 12 inch cube. They WILL check the size and force you to leave it outside. If you forgot to renew your park pass, don't fret, because you can always renew at all the Westchester pools. read more

I used to love this pool at first because it was clean, spacious, and seemed to be family friendly. The newly renovated playground made it a great spot to take my grown child in the summer for swimming. There were free amble parking and it felt peaceful and safe. It was until 2019 when I felt harassed by the lifeguards. I had signed my child up for the swimming lessons twice a week so we got to be around the pool more. The grass became smellier and there were trash on the grass, so I had a harder time finding a spot to put down blanket. The women's bathroom flooded; some stalls were out of toilet paper; others were smelly and gross. Outside of swimming lesson, my child was told that she cannot use a kickboard in the 1 ft pool. I was whistled at by the lifeguards because my 3.5 year old hopped on my back and asked me to carry her while we were in the 1-3 ft pool. (No explanation was given so I guess it was not allowed.) Some other parents of young children were told that floaties are not allowed in the 1 ft pool while there were older children wearing life jackets and other kinds of swimming floaties in the vicinity. Older camp children were told jumping into 3+ ft pool were not allowed, while younger children dive bomb in the 1ft pool. The rule seem to be at the mercy of the lifeguards and they use their discretion to PUBLICLY call out unsafe behaviors. The lifeguards' policing is becoming stressful and makes me not want to hang around. I hope next year they'll have a better crew. read more

Great county pool for Westchester residents. Love that there's a limit to how many folks are allowed in. There's plenty of space in such an enormous pool, even on hotter days, and the food stand is pretty good (standard food, such as chicken tenders, fries, burgers, hot dogs, etc.). Love the fact they allow small coolers. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this pool. The park pass is worth it: lasts for three years from date of purchase (currently around $100) and provides an entrance fee discount of $8 per person (instead of $15 - the pass holder pays only $6)...also love that it's currently free Mon-Thurs! read more

Today was my first time back at this pool after 20 years since now my kids are all grown up the pool is very clean the staff are all young kids working so hard so much respect I luved it so much I stayed all day till closing bill the manager very kind and sweet and the food was delicious! I'm a new grandma can't wait for next summer to bring my grandson ! If you're deciding on which pool to go to, I suggest Sprain Brook as it is better managed. Saxon Woods used to be nice, but it has really gone downhill. Bathrooms are dirty and staff are rude and unprofessional. Lifeguards fool around in the deep end (which is closed off to the public for some made up reason.) Even then, areas of the pool are often closed off because "lack of life guards." Yet, groups of workers are milling about fooling around. Sprain Brook somehow manages to not close off whole sections? Bill the manager is sarcastic and condescending. He really should not be in a public facing position. Oh, on one of the hottest days, they only have 2 lap lanes open. Like I said, very poorly managed. It seems that management just doesn't care as they're too busy on power trips. read more

I won't repeat the previous reviews which are spot on. I will add that even though the pool and parking get mad crowded on the weekends, they do a great job with the shuttling, and the kids will have a great time. The concession is convenient with typical selection and prices you would expect. There are many lifeguards stationed around the perimeter who keep a very close and constant eye, giving warnings that are aimed at keeping everyone safe, which I appreciate. These are what I've noticed so far: - no toys, floaties, anything allowed in the pool except for US coast guard approved lifejackets - sunglasses, goggles are ok - coolers cannot exceed 12" but other than that, I see people bring in strollers, beach chairs, blankets, umbrellas read more

This place has the potential to be a great place for fun but the lifeguards are menacing. Here's where it gets strange; you can't give anyone a piggy back ride while in the water but they can straddle you from the front and this is fine. MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE! I had to remove my kid from my back and spin her around to my front.. HUGE difference for sure. YOU CAN however-enter the pool with BOAT SHOES, basketball shorts and tee shirts, despite this not being proper swimming attire. YES, I watched someone get into the pool today with boat shoes. Not water shoes but sperry type boat shoes. No whistles were blown! The lifeguards must really enjoy blowing those whistles too because they do it constantly. You CAN also bring your phone and blue tooth speaker to the pools edge and subject everyone in the water to your wack ass playlist like you're at orchard beach in the Bronx but those darn piggy back rides are dangerous and distracting. They also check your belongings before entering to make sure you don't have glass, alcohol or God knows what but Sheryl and her hockey league walked in with their luggage without a bat of an eyelash. She's probably leaning by the kiddie pool as I type this. Someone should blow a whistle for good measure. read more

The pool is nice, the little water park area for the kids is a fun cool part. Weekends tend to get very busy with long lines to get in, prices are a little ridiculous! The employees at the entrance are so sweet upon entering and exiting. The girls who work the concession stand are the worse! Attitudes for no reason, they ask you "what ya want to drink"... you respond "what do you have".. and get an annoyed response saying "everything but diet pepsi".. well gee thanks that helped! So I then asked the girl where the sign is for the flavors and she rolled her eyes at me saying right there! I then notify her that customers can not see the sign due to their chip display blocking it.. and she says "oh well"... very unprofessional! You waste your money to come here and that is how they treat you?! And to add, the lifeguards are horrible! THEY YELL AT PEOPLE! I mean yell as if you are a dog to get out of their pool, and if you make one step over the "yellow line"... they will kick you out?! Kids being on a power trip over here! I noticed for the last 2 years saxson woods is constantly closing half of the middle section the pool, the excuse given by staff members is there's a shortage of lifeguards on duty. I went on the hottest day of the year Sat. July 20th 2019, first of all the middle section by the children's pool area, was closed in half you had an overwhelming amount of people that were packed in this small area looking like a bunch of sardines, which was dangerous due to the extreme heat soaring over 100 degrees the area filled way beyond the capacity amount. I advised the staff member about the hazardous condition with the amount of people packed in this small section, he advised me there's not enough life guards on duty, however I noticed a full staff of lifeguards that were not at there stations, you had a total of 3 life guards that were on duty hanging out swimming in the 11 feet section of the pool having a gd time laughing, and making fun of the people that were packed in the middle section that was cut in half. I've been coming to this pool for years and I've never seen what I witnessed, I won't be coming back anymore. The fire department should have shut it down read more

This is my local pool. We come here all the time. Is it fancy? No but its a big pool. There is something for everyone. There is deep water, shallow water, and a spray park area for children under a certain height. My only complaints on weekdays (because I DONT GO ON THE WEEKENDS) is the camps. The camps come in and section off big areas and tell other kids to get out of the area. They are really great areas too bc they are about shoulder height on a young child. Like I said I don't go on the weekends bc i refuse to shuttle bus. Also, once the parking lot is full that means the place is ridiculously packed. And then there wont be a place to swim or sit. People are pretty relaxed and family oriented but on the weekends it has a different vibe. I like this place better than wilson waves and even better than the lazy river because you can see your children and it's just a huge pool for swimming and a grassy areas for sitting. Food is also pretty good and provided by powell's catering. read more

I cannot say anything about weekends because I work retail and I am usually working but, I can honestly say that it has always been a pleasure to go to this pool. Everything is well organized from the lifeguards, to the concession stand all the way to the the alcohol checkpoint. The reason for the one star is their new smoking policy - smoking now allowed poolside in a designated area. Well and good in theory but when the pool is packed, you have no choice for space - and it gets pretty packed pretty much every weekend.You will find yourself downwind of the smoking area. Smokers make a choice. Children, asthmatics, elderly, people with allergies and other respiratory issues - not so much. I guess the science behind second hand smoke doesn't trump smokers' convenience. Too bad because we really liked this pool. read more

I went on a Sunday, and I got there pretty late around 2:30, the lot was full and they were directing people to park elsewhere, but when I pulled up they actually decided to let a few cars in. So luckily I didnt have to take the shuttle, which would have been inconvenient. I dont have a season pass yet, so I paid the $15 to get in, but you can get a pass made there before 4pm and then its much cheaper to get in. They only accept cash. It was packed, but there was plenty of shaded and non shaded spaces available to lie down. The concession stand has a decent selection, typical for a pool - chicken fingers and fries were $7 and i got a large foutain soda with extra ice. It didnt take too long to get my food. The pool and surrounding area are kept clean. Even the bathrooms were clean. There were a lot of children and a spash park area and also some lanes designated for laps. So I enjoyed my day there, I would come back, and its so much cheaper then joining a private pool so its absolutely worth it. read more
