We hired DJ Brette to DJ and sing at our Xmas party. They came early to setup and able to do an excellent job to entertain all our guests! The Karaoke was a hit, especially after everyone had a few drinks! We would definitely use them again for future events at our home. read more

Ken was amazing with helping my 10 years anniversary flows very well. He meet up with us at our place to planning meetings and having a layout where the band will be. He had great suggestions on the timeline. He is very easy to work with. He help me pick and coordinate a band who his daughter was a fanatic singer. They executed the music so nicely. We couldn't have picked a better group to DJ at our wedding. I had gone to a Christmas party for my husbands work and they had hired them. During cocktail hour, there was live singing from the very talented Brette and after dinner, they DJs played fun upbeat music for dancing. They were so fun and part of the party and I knew immediately I wanted the same thing for my wedding. It is a family business and every member of the family is absolutely lovely. Ken was my point person who I communicated the most with and he is a delight. He really listened to my vision and helped create the greatest party of my life. He even surprised me and my husband with a solo sax performance after dinner hour. I told him my goal was to have a party and dance the night away and he delivered. He was very flexible and was able to accommodate all of my requests. They travelled from Vacaville to Hopland and their pricing is very affordable compared to the other DJs I vetted for our wedding. Ken was our DJ for our April 2011 wedding. He was so much fun!. Ken was so organized and detailed-orientated; it was actually quite amazing how much structure he had. He returns emails and phone calls promptly. He coordinated everything with my wedding planner and minister. He has great follow through. Ken was with us for our ceremony and reception. He played everything on cue and the correct song as requested. He was on time and ready to go. He worked overtime due to our wedding running behind. He brought his own dance floor light's...they were awesome! Everything went so smoothly. So, best part about Ken, in addition to all other great qualities, is he plays the saxophone. We had him play classical and jazz during our dinner and he played the sax! It was the perfect complement to the reception. After a ton of research, I chose Ken to DJ our wedding in April 2014 in Sacramento. He was so easy to work with, and very patient with me getting all of the information and song lists to him. He's got a great personality without being over the top and cheesy, and was able to read the crowd to play the right kind of music to keep the dance floor full. Ken also has a website that makes creating a playlist extremely easy, which I very much appreciated. We hired Ken to DJ our wedding and were really happy with him. He plays the sax which is a wonderful way to start the evening (cocktail hour and dinner) and then transitioned to the dancing. He has a great system whereby you pick your play and do not play list on line. Then you go through the entire event with him. My husband wanted to sing and they did a great piece together. I work for Green Cheeze Photobooths and met Ken at a wedding a couple weeks ago in Napa. The guests weren't allowed in the area we were set up in so he talked to the person in charge and got them to let the guests in to use our booth. He was super helpful and friendly and encouraged guests to use our booth throughout the night, which I really appreciated. I also got to see him play the sax for the guests and as a fellow musician, I can definitely say that he was amazing! I could tell the guests really loved it, as did I. Ken did an amazing job at our 7/11/13 Napa Valley wedding. He hired a wonderful violin duo for our ceremony and all of our guests commented on the beautiful violin music. As well, Ken played the sax during our cocktail hour and it was tasteful, lively and impressive. Then after our dinner, Ken was the DJ and did a excellent job. It can be a bit stressful hiring vendors from a distance (we live in San Diego), but working with Ken was a pleasure; he was polite, responsive and professional. We hired Ken for our June 2, 2012 wedding. Please note that this review is not about his live music/saxaphone only his straight DJ host skills/regular music. We had several meetings with Ken to review our needs. The meetings all seemed to go well. On occasion Ken seemed forgetful. This was surprising to me as he always seemed to take copious notes. I felt like we had most everything under control and things would go great until I received a phone call Friday night, the night of our rehearsal dinner. Ken called me and wanted to review everything which at the time it seemed like it couldn't hurt to review the details once more. However, it did seem like there were still some details Ken had yet to grasp. Not to mention the fact that I had to find a time to talk to him as I was scrambling from the rehearsal to the rehearsal dinner. I had to call him back later that night. I did not like Ken's style of DJ'ing when he was hosting. If people didn't dance or he didn't get a response from guests to come up and participate he should have moved on or had a plan B. Instead we awkwardly waited. It was slightly embarrassing for me. Half the time I had to jump in and say just play the music or let's move on. For the bouquet toss, I had mentioned to Ken that we didn't have very many single girls so I thought we would need an alternative - maybe just all the girls? He said not to worry and they would come out. Well, they didn't. So I was left up there, awkwardly waiting for someone, anyone to come up. Ken even tried to have me call them out by name - I had no idea what to do ... I reluctanlty said the first name that came to mind (in hindsight I shouldnt have NEVER said anything or anyones name.) I was embarrassed, mortified really for calling someone out and for being put in that spot in the first place. I know how embarrassing that must of been - urg if I could only take that split second back. Finally, I just had to tell him to invite all the girls, everyone, married or not. Lastly, we had discussed the names of our wedding party with Ken extensively. Still somehow they were messed up and not introduced correctly; utterly embarrassing. Ken was sure to apologize and tell us that he cleared the names with our wedding coordinator (whom we were also not happy with) but to be clear we had mentioned their names, written them down and addressed the name issue many times. Not sure whose mistake (the coordinator or the DJ) it was but it was not good. Also, Ken managed to mix up the two songs chosen for when I walked down the aisle and when my bridesmaids walked down the aisle. He had two songs to choose from, Cannon in F and Second Time Around. Even if he didnt know anything about what songs we chose or if he couldnt remember what songs to play - odds are that Cannon in F would be for the Bride and Second Time Around would have been for the bridesmaid. Cannon in D after all IS THE WEDDING SONG. Overall, Ken's service was not what I had hoped for and was way below expectations. I wouldn't hire him again. However, we did appreciate his time, strong desire to please and to try to make everything right, his pleasant nature as well as his passion for live music. read more

We worked together to set up the perfect playlist, and he seemed comfortable working the crowd and making sure everyone was having a good time. Really great DJ for our reception, the process was easy, the price was great, and everyone loved him. After reserving Ken for the reception, we needed a instrumentalist for the ceremony at the church, he played sax and brought a partner to play organ. While everyone was walking in to be seated they played soothing tunes without being asked and the wedding coordinator at the church said she had been working there for 10 years and no other DJ ever had played extra songs or played before the ceremony started, we were all so impressed. read more

When we first booked this DJ we were really impressed with their online set up. They have a program that you type in ALL of your information from times, to songs/artists to the main effects. It had a timeline, song order etc....I couldn't be more excited because I thought this was fool proof. Boy was I wrong. We were promised (over the course of several emails where we confirmed and reconfirmed) that a second set-up would be possible on the balcony since the venue doesn't allow cords to be run across the floor. There was no second set-up as promised (yet we rented a table and linen for it). We were promised microphones for the ceremony. None were provided. So no one was able to hear our vows. The DJ (Terri), despite the detailed online tool where it CLEARLY specified the processional songs, managed to play the wrong songs. The music we asked to be played for the seating was what the bridal party walked out to. Not sure what was played for the seating and for the walk of the mothers. How she was able to mess that up is beyond me, especially because it was so clearly written in their online organizer. The music we asked to play for dinner was "Frank Sinatra" and similar music. Instead we heard Aerosmith and Boyz II Men, a far cry from the Rat Pack. NOT what we had asked for. She skipped over the cake cutting and started open dancing, again NOT playing the 2.5 hours of music we requested but instead whatever is popular on the radio right now. She managed to mispronounce all the names she was announcing, despite calling a week before and having us pronounce all of our names. Lastly, she brought her daughter "to help set up" causing us to pay for an extra vendor meal. Again, not something that was a part of the plan. The last thing is for months after we booked the DJ I was getting advertisements from them in my email. I finally emailed them and reminded them that we had already booked them and to quit sending me advertisements. Overall, I am pretty disappointed with this DJ. I could have had my amateur friends DJ this wedding and do a better job. And it would have been much cheaper to go that route. read more
