Later that same day, my uncle (who's a certified mechanic) came over and had the issue fixed in under 10 minutes. I reached out and asked for a partial refund since nothing was diagnosed or repaired, and his response was basically that "his time is valuable." That's ridiculous. After a couple of days he figured out that water flow was being restricted at the transom due to a clogged inlet that was described simply as "mush". We obtained a new transom and had it installed. Derek called us up and said there was no more steam, the temp was back to normal and the motor was running fine. After picking up the boat, we took it to Elsinore for a test run with no issues. What a relief. For the scope of work performed, the cost was reasonable. That being said, everyone knows what BOAT means! Lol.
