While we are happy to save on electricity bills, we are also very pleased to have back-up power. I have several medical conditions that cause heat intolerance. With the batteries, I am now reassured about keeping the whole house's AC on, in addition to the lights, computer, refrigerator, etc., in the event of a power outage. Bryan was great to work with and my project manager, Caitlin, was fantastic. She was impeccable with giving me weekly updates, upon my request, which reduced any anxiety I may have had during the entire process. The installers were led by Mitch and he was also wonderful. He and his team were all exceptionally polite, professional, and easy going to work with. They were also respectful of my property, cleaning up any messes that were made due to the installation work. Caitlin walked me through knowing what to expect at each phase of the installation and that included pre-work permits, and post-work inspections. One of the reasons I chose EGT Solar, after researching several solar companies, is because they are local. I like to support local businesses when I can and they knew all the ins and outs of regulations and requirements right where I live. Everything went super smoothly and I highly recommend EGT Solar!

We consulted and contracted with EvenGreen Technology in December of 2013 to evaluate our…read moreelectrical usage patterns and to design a solar array for us that would get us as close to an annual net zero electrical usage bill from Idaho Power. We couldn't be happier with the results! I am only sorry I did not get this review posted earlier for others to benefit from. The staff and installers were professional in every way, did an outstanding installation job and cleaned up the construction litter better than any contractors I have hired in some time. The end product looks great while being non-intrusive, even the HOA in our subdivision was pleased with the results as are immediate neighbors. Follow-up service has been simply excellent. True to their word, when the system did not respond correctly a couple of times, they contacted me promptly and scheduled time to fix the problems (largely an internet connectivity issue easily resolved with a range extender or bridge). Their monitoring of our panels and invertors via the web led them to contact me before I even knew an issue required attention. The only delay we encountered was from Idaho Power, it took a bit longer than anticipated in December/January to get our meter switched to a net zero meter. We went live in mid-January during the height of the Treasure Valley inversion season. In closing, our system is working beautifully, while the Idaho Power bills have declined substantially, given our Jan/Feb inversions we did not get to zero. However I am very happy with where we are and the payback schedule projected for us is maybe 10% low. On the other hand if ID Power rates continue to climb the projections may be right on target - its really to early to tell. I would unconditionally recommend EVENGREEN TECHNOLOGY to anyone who is considering a quality solar project. They do not try to oversell or push "extras" to increase a profit margin. This is an Idaho home grown company I strongly encourage folks to seek a consultation with, and then make up their own minds based on the information shared. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Hale Electric installed a solar system with a battery backup at my mom's home last year…read more Originally, the system appeared to work. However, during the first power outage we experienced, the backup system never kicked on. What followed was a months-long failure in customer service, characterized by unfulfilled commitments and a lack of technical expertise from Konnor. Reaching the company was nearly impossible. Calls went unanswered, messages were not returned, and scheduled appointments resulted in consistent no-shows. Over three separate visits, Konnor and Kevin failed to resolve our system issues. They provided a string of inconsistent excuses, ranging from "a button was never turned on", there was "a pinched wire", to blaming cold weather for the batteries not charging. We were explicitly told by Konnor that he was no longer certified to work on the specific system he installed, promising to return the following week after recertification--a promise he failed to keep. After months of frustration, we hired a different electrician who diagnosed and fixed the issue in one visit. The root cause was that Hale Electric never properly assigned or connected the backup system. It remains unclear if the service failures were due to deceptive business practices or sheer incompetence by Konnor. Regardless, the experience was unacceptable and we do not recommend Hale Electric to anyone.
