Downtown Morehead and I'm drinking beer while writing Yelp reviews on their wifi. There's nothing not to love about this fabulous drinking establishment. They have some chips and snacks available but you're also welcome to bring food from outside if they don't have a food truck. Today, there was live music outside and while I'm a fan of live music, I much appreciated that they were outside and not inside. The beers? Excellent and reasonably priced. We were glad to run into Sawstone Brewing. Their selection is decent, and we were able to get a new release while visiting along with some souvenir glasses we took home. They offer other types of beers and ciders that are not from their establishment. I think that is a good thing since they are still growing their product and having a vast selection on tap accommodates different types of palettes. Since I am not a beer person and they had cider, that worked out wonderfully. This brewery is 100% my vibe. It's super chill, and the locals enjoy coming here. We were visiting for the weekend. My significant other went to Morehead for his undergraduate and his father has a cabin not too far from here. All of this to say that we will be back and we are glad there is a brewery in Morehead. read more

Love the decor and outside seating. I had a flight of local beers and each were quite good.

Good selection of beers on tap. I always like a place that has a good logo and a flight available. The location is nice and they have a decent patio. I would have given a 5 star, although the people seemed unfriendly, not rude, just passive. read more

Street parking. Passing through on our road trip. Ordered 2 flights of 4. They have 9 of their own on top and a variety of others. Sawstone Cream Ale - not as creamy as I anticipated but a fairly light beer with a little bit sweetness. Bit Burbier Festbier - Also a light beer that's pretty easy to drink. Winchester Ciderworks VA-Ginga Ginger Cider - great ginger flavor and not too sweet for a cider. Hi-Wire Bed of Nails Brown Ale - lighter brown Ale than what I've normally had but still a good flavor and easy to drink. Sawstone "Friend of the Devil" Belgian Tripel. Not as heavy as a normal Belgian tripel but very good an defintiely recommend. ACE Pink Guava Cider - one of my favorite ciders that I've had. The Guava flavor comes through very well and it's not overly sweet. ACE Pumpkin Cider - decent Cider but not your traditional pumpkin taste, there was something a little different that I couldn't pinpoint. Yuengling Hershey Chocolate Porter - this was delicious and had a great chocolate flavor come through. I loved this one and it's not as heavy and rich and other porters. We also got a sample of the Sawstone KY Corman Bourbon Barrel Aged Ale. This was interesting since it wasn't a Stout but I think brought out the Bourbon flavor very well. Friendly staff and great conversation! Definitely recommend popping by here. read more

We've been to A LOT of breweries and this may have been one of the best small town breweries we've visited. Friendly beertenders, lots of options, and tasty brews. The venue is cool and it looked like they have a little outdoor space as well (it was chilly and rainy when we visited). When we are in town we will be back for sure. read more

Drove from Lexington to check out Sawstone Brewing. It has a great location right downtown Morehead in an older building that has been remodeled. I was impressed that they had 11-12 of their own beers on tap along with several guest taps. They had a wide variety of their own beers too from a Porter to Kentucky Common to an IPA to an Oktoberfest. I got a flight of 8 of their beers and overall was happy with them. They all had good flavors and met my expectations. I really liked the Festbier, their Oktoberfest. I would say it's worth the drive from Lexington to check them out and sample their beers. read more

Extremely nice relatively new brewery in Morehead. Several tasty beers made there and some good guess beers. They were schedule to be closed, but some regulars showed up, and so did we. The owner, brewer was accommodating and pleasant. The locals were friendly and dogs welcome. High recommended!! read more

If your looking for a place to hang out with friends and enjoy some amazing beer then Sawstone is the place. All of the bartenders are so amazing and were very helpful the first time I went in. It quickly became one of my go to places to hang out with friends while I was at school in Morehead. They also host live music and other fun events at the brewery. read more

I graduated from morehead state in 2016 and I wish that Sawstone had been open back then. It's a great brewery with a good selection (at fair prices) and service. They also have plenty of outdoor seating so that you can stay socially distant from others, and they have live music on some nights. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting. read more

Definitely the best locally brewed beer in the region. Friendly staff and owners. Being able to get a "growler" to go is very nice during Covid. Also nice to have outdoor seating with the city closing the side street for more space, and the rise and roll brick oven pizza being there on select nights. read more

I take my friend for their 21st birthday for their first drink to sawstone and we order two drinks. Both of which on my personal tab. Someone walks by after overhearing that it was her 21st birthday and opts to pay for her next drink. She orders a drink 50 cents more expensive than the pervious. At the end of evening as we're checking out I notice the second drink is on my tab and the first was covered by the generous guest. Just really ticked me off, such a small thing as 50 cents would dispute the order in which the drinks were ordered on my paychecks behalf. Really kind of got under my skin because I had payed for 3 drinks total regardless of the one covered by the guest. Just a small thing like this really got under my skin. If I order two drinks and pay for them on my tab and someone offers to pay for my friends next drink, I don't expect the next drink my friend chooses to be on my tab due to the order in which the drinks were ordered.
